My old Hampton Bay remote seems to be interfering with the light on the Hunter fan (fan worked, but not the light until I took the remote off then everything works). Two weeks ago everything was fine, so in theory crossing the brands should be okay, right?

Receiver has a black and white to connect to the AC supply and blue, black, and white to connect to the fan.

My wiring is:

From the ceiling to remote receiver:
Black supply to black receiver; white supply to white receiver; and blue to ? (I have tried to black receiver and just capping it off)

From the receiver to the fan:
Black to black; blue to black w/ white stripe; and white to white

And green from ceiling to fan green

And my question is: what to do w/ the blue wire from the ceiling? The setup w/o the receiver is obvious: black to black, white to white, blue to blue, and green to green; that works fine. But when I add the remote..

Capping the blue is fine.

You have two fans and remotes, or you're using an HB remote with a Hunter fan? If so, why?
