View Full Version : Need some opinions, unsure if I'm pregnant, missed period but negative test

I am now 5 days late on my period. I felt like I was going to get it the day that I was supposed to but the cramps and aches have slowly tapered off with no sign of my period what so ever. The only premenstrual symptoms I still have are breast tenderness and very mild back discomfort. I haven't been more than 2 days late on my period in over 9 months so this is unusual for me.
I also had a pregnancy about a year and a half ago and when I was 2 weeks late on my period I took 2 home pregnancy tests and they both came up negative. I went to the doctor a week later and found out I was pregnant, but I miscarried soon after. I think home tests are unreliable for me for whatever reason.
I took a home test 3 days after my missed period (which was 2 days ago) and the first one came up negative but the second one didn't work I think because there was no line in the control window to show that it was working. They were pretty cheap tests too so I don't know if that affects the quality of the results.
I don't have health insurance currently so I want to put off going to the doctor for as long as possible in hopes that I will get my period. I just want some opinions on whether you think I could be pregnant or not. Thanks!

Hi PINK, it's possible you could be pregnant, it could be a little early for the test to pick up yet, give it a little while longer and try again.

You had all the signs of a period maybe your going to have a late one, I think you are just going to have to hang in there to see what happens if you have no health insurrance.

Eventually you may have to seek out a GP though.

If you have been through any stress resently that could also effect your cycle.

I agree its very possible you could be pregnant. But its also possible that your simply late. Remember stressing about your period will only delay it longer ironically. Lol.

You asked this last month too, is it possible that you are simply having some late periods lately?

Has there been any changes in your life? A death in the family, a move, etc?

How old are you? Are you married? I have some more advise but I need to know your age first ;)

Have you looked into clinics in your area? When I didn't have insurance I was able to go to planned parenthood. I didn't have to pay for any of the tests, any of my because, or anything.

I'm 21 years old and from October 2008 to April 2009 my cycle was very regular, it was 30 days and then for may and June it went up to 32 days. I was very irregular from the time I first got my period up until October 2008 so I feel the past 8 months my cycle has been pretty regular considering my past. I haven't had any significant stress, nothing that I hadn't been dealing with in the past 6 months already. I have a stable relationship, not married but together for over 4 years.

Thanks 4 helping, I really appreciate the advice!

Hey hon :)

Good cause I can't give this advise to a minor. ;)

I would suggest having sex. All the time for me, (sometimes for my sister) if I have sex around my period, I will have my period either that night while I sleep, or early the next morning. Be it too early, or late. Lol.

Good luck hon
