Ok, the furnace stopped working this morning. Need some help. The flame goes on, but turns off after a minute. The LED flashing code on the motherboard says 3-1 (31 - which is the high heat pressure switch -- also says to refer to error code 32 which is the low heat pressure switch). I turned the power off on the unit, and back on, and it seems to be working again normally. Any thoughts>>?

Could be (in order of likelyhood): blocked flue, faulty pressure switch, faulty circuit board, faulty inducer motor. If it happened once, it will likely return if unaddressed.

If it's below freezing out,you may check to make sure there isn't ice build up on the exaust pipe outside.

Thank you all for your help. The answer is: Faulty Circuit Board! -- replaced, and all is working perfectly. Apparently the technician said it is pretty common with this unit, and that the circuit board is sending false readings of it being the pressure switch. In fact the parts manager at the HVAC store said he rarely ever orders pressure switches.. in his opinion, he thought it was going to be the motor. One last note to anyone reading this - always replace your filters! That can cause a problems as well. Thanks again!

Having same problem with bryant plus 80t error code 31. Furnace was installed in May 04. Had the installer out here 3 times in two years. First time they said it might be wind that caused the error code. They were here for the second time just 3 weeks ago and decided it was the pressure switch, which they replaced. Called them back yesterday for the same problem and they told us to replace the thermostat. Replaced thermostat... yesterday afternoon code 31 was flashing again and the gas would only stay on for about a minute. Then for some reason it stopped flashing code, the gas stays on while the furnace is running. However, the furnace checks on every 15 minutes, runs for 15 minutes and then shuts off. Called the company that installed the furnace, and they have no idea what the problem is and don't seem to really care to try to find out, even though the furnace is still under warranty.

Called in a different company. Same problem you had... needed a new circuit board. Sure wish I had called them first. Could have saved $270!:(

You should pursue at least a partial refund from the installing dealer for their inability to correct the problem. Did you purchase any extra warranty coverage with the furnace?

Furnace is still under original warranty... 5 years parts, 1 year labor. The company that finally fixed the problem only charged us for the labor.. parts were still under warranty.
