I have an Aloha Breeze ceiling fan. The fan switch broke while on medium speed. I went to replace the switch, replacing the switch with a 3 pull 4 wire switch. Orange= L, Yellow=1, Purple=2 and Black = 3. That is the way the old switch was wired up. Unfortunately, the fan will not work. I have tried 3 different switches with the same result on all 3. With the new switch wired up, when I pull the chain, it will hum on one of the pull but the fan will not work.

Are you sure that's how the colors were originally wired?

Contact the manufacturer for the correct switch.
