I have a question about my shower. I have a HOT and COLD cutoff valve and a shutoff valve for my shower head. When I turn on my shower I still get an excessive amount of water coming from the bottom spout and not good pressure from the shower head. It has been a couple of years since I changed the stems could this be the problem.
Thanks,
Joe

I have a HOT and COLD cutoff valve and a shutoff valve for my shower head. Does this translate to a three knob shower valve with the diverter in the center? (see image) or do mnyou have a one handled valve with the diverter in the spout? Let me know. Regards. Tom

HI Tom,
Yes this is exactly what it is. What do you think could be the problem. I am thinking that the diverter valve is not closing all the way.

Pull the diverter stem and washer assembly. Replace any washers that are worn or look used. Now check the seat It should have no nicks or rough spots. If you find any then replace the seat. Good luck, To,
