View Full Version : H-1 Visa from F-1 getting back Social security and which forms to fill

I am hirenshukla from India currently,I am on H-1 Visa starting from October 2005 and was on OPT (F-1 Visa)from January 2005 up to September 2005
My company deducted the Social security from my from my pay during the entire year so could you please guide me how can I get that social security amount from IRS and which form should I fill ,I am single so just let me know are there are any different forms for Married or single.

File Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ as a non-resident alien.

File Form 843 to claim a refund for the Social Security or Medicare taxes. Download IRS Pub 519 from www.irs.gov, then read page 45 - 47 for the procedures and documents needed.
