I got a new Gateway computer in July 2007, a good one with lots of memory and all the bells and whistles. I already owned a relatively new Epson printer. I connected it and all was well. Then, all of a sudden, it started irradically not working. The
First time was right after we had a storm and the power went off. It would not work.
I uninstalled, reinstalled, and after a while it started working again. So this has gone on
Over a period of 7 months. Finally, this last time, I went back to Staples where I bought it.
They said something about uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers which I had already done.
Today I went back and they told me, Oh well it is because your printer is not compatible with VISTA. You need to upgrade and buy a new one. You have to do this to keep up with technology. Is this true? I find it strange that when I bought an HP in 1998, All In One,
I never had to do this when I upgraded to Windows XP. That printer is STILL going on a computer that still has XP. So can someone tell me, is this true about VISTA or did I just fall prey to a good salesman? Thanks
