Do you believe in destiny.Has anyone seen someone that caught there eye once or twice but was not the right time and end up with them later. I'm not meaning exes reuniting. Friends or strangers hooking up later.. Any examples. Also do you believe in destiny!

I don't believe in destiny. I believe it's a small world sometimes.

I met my wife when I was teaching at a college. Shed come in with a coworker to use a machine our university had for an analysis. I saw her once and was immediately attracted. She was there only a couple of hours and gone before I had the chance to talk more to her. I even thought about calling her company up to ask her out to coffee, but I thought it might be a little odd and I had enough going on in my life at that time. But I absolutely had an attraction to her.

Two years later I quit that job to do a surgical education research position. At the last hour the job fell through. Id already quit the other position and was left scrambling for work. Did temp work and then was hired by the same company that my wife worked at. I knew she was employed there, but it wasn't the reason I went... it was a good offer when I needed one.

Long story short, after she had a relationship turn sour and I had one go nuclear we found ourselves single and working on a project together. In time I left the company to avoid a conflict of interest and later married her.

Now... was I destined to? I hate the idea of destiny. I hate the idea of soul mates. I think sometimes people are lucky enough to get second chances. I think all the other times we don't, we don't call it destiny.

So... while I hesitate to say that there is some force that moved me to my wife, I don't diminish the fact that I saw her again after being interested a few years before.

Destiny and free will can't both exist. So I'd have to say I don't really believe in destiny. It seems more like a way to make yourself feel better by saying "oh that just wasn't my destiny etc" It's your own free will, and choices you make that determine what happens and where you go in life.
Just my 2 cents

I don't believe in destiny. Crazy things happen ALL THE TIME. Out of the billions and billions of people, there is bound to be hundreds of incidents that happen that bring people together that seem like destiny, but isn't. Just coincidences.

Well this maybe an example of destiny. I went to grade school for eight years and I knew my whole class well I talked to mostly everyone. There were a few I rarely talked to let alone hung out with and one of these kids was named steven. Well we all graduated from the 8th grade and went on to high school. Lost touch with one of my best friends josh and then we talked a year later and he came to my house and brought one of his best friends steven. That was over a year ago. Now steven and I are completely in love and planning a future
