I have this problem with a brand new gas furnace, it was installed a few days ago. The heater won't work and the ac blower shuts off immediately when in ac mode. I believe the wiring is OK. The gas won't click and nothing happens when you try to start the heater from the thermostat. I bridged W & R and the blower will come on for a minute or two and then shuts off. My guess is that the circuit board is bad, or maybe the gas valve. How do I make sure? I tried rewiring it, but it throws the breaker. Today I am making sure the unit has a good ground, I doubt that is the problem though. What are other things I should check? Your help is appreciated.
