I am in a quandary. My husband just died suddenly. He has been in a nursing home for 5 years so I was getting his Social Security/Disability. They call it Spousal diversion. Well, now I won't be getting the Social Security/Disability and will be getting $989 less a month because of his death. I am too young to get widows pay. I own the house I live in and make house payments and have a car payment . The money I make will not cover all the bills I have.
I was wondering if I should file bankruptcy, or just sell the house and pay off all the bills and start anew.
I am not only grieving, but having to worry about all of this. It is just too much to bare.
I need someone from the outside looking in to give me some advice as to what to do. I cannot think straight.
Thanks,
Mel
