Hi there, I'm having a slight issue, and I don't know what I did.

I replaced all of my outlets with a newer style. However, one (half of an) outlet USED TO be controlled by a switch that's 5 feet away.

Now this switch does nothing. The outlet is completely hot at all times on both outlets. How can I fix it so that half of the outlet is controlled by the switch again?

Thanks!

Between the two brass screws there is a very small jumper that needs to be removed. You may need to use a small flat screwdriver or a needlenose pliers to pry it out.

The hot live feed will connect to one screw, and the switched hot wire from the switch will connect to the other screw.

After some research, that's what I came up with too! I've tried it in the meantime, and you are absolutely correct. It was that "simple"..

Thanks a bunch for replying so quickly!
