I have yeast infection on my inner thighs. It began about a month back with itching followed by red pimples on the right inner thigh. This soon spread to the other thigh. In a few days the pimples vanished but my skin started turning dark.

The doctor told me that it is a yeast infection and gave me a powder to apply on it . However, It didn't seem to make much a difference. After applying it for two days I came out of town forgot the medicine at home only. I'll stay out till next week and don't remember the name of the powder.

I tried an OTC powder called 'Tinactin - Antifungal.' It has 1 % Tolnaflate as active ingredient and claims to relieve burning and itching and athelete's foot.
This powder seems to be making things worse. I now have a very dry skin with severe itching at times. When I itch, my skin starts coming off from thighs.

What should I do to get better?

Why don't you get another doctors' suggestion?

Personal hygiene plays a very important role in situations like yours. You will have to wash those creases thoroughly when you shower, shower more, whatever. An area of your body that isn't given proper attention when cleansing, such as inner thighs, with women it is under their breasts, etc. are storehouses for bacteria that thrive on warm oily places that turn into yeast infections, very difficult to get rid of.

I would go to another doctor and get a second opinion and a better ointment to applied diligently to the effected area and better washing method.

I use Desenex to treat my flare ups. Also def keep those areas clean and dry. If you sweat a lot you may have to apply the powder more often or clean with cold water and then add the powder. It will cool the itch and not be as swollen. Also if the area is sweaty (as you probably know already) it will be extremely sensitive so do everything you can not to scratch or else it will spread other places.

I think you should visit your dermatologist at the earliest. The condition can deteriorate quite fast, cure yeast infection with the help of homeopathic medicines. http://www.yeastinfection-relief.net
