I'm not pregnant, but my tummy is supporting you in your pregnancy CBW. Johnny asked me yesterday if we were going to have a baby!! http://www.pimpmycom.com/myspace/gifs/emoticons/rolleye0018.gif

So, although I am not in the pregnant role, I am in the supportive role. LOL

Im pregnant with number 2, I got knocked back a bit at the dr today... could change at the next ultrasound though.. I hate when they go changing my due dates around. Sitting at 13, almost 14 weeks right now... I look about 18 weeks along, lol.

Jun 26, 2007, 12:08 PM
I just found out I was pregnant yesterday, but haven't gone to the doctor yet. Since pregnancy counts from your last period that would put me at 4 weeks. My first pregnancy so I don't know what to expect but I am excited about it.

alkalineangel
Jun 26, 2007, 12:18 PM
Live it up. I love being pregnant, despite the way I gripe while I am, when IM not pregnant, I long to be... lol.

It gets even better when you get bigger and people start giving up their seats and stuff... lol.. although I hate everyone touching my belly.

CBW.. I guess I was talking too much baby over in the other area? Its hard when its fresh on my mind...

curlybenswife
Jun 26, 2007, 12:34 PM
Nah I just thought it might be cool to see how many other lovely ladys are pregnant as well as us Al :D

tamed
Jun 26, 2007, 12:35 PM
CBW, I am in the UK and although I've had my doubts about this country before, I enjoying it now. I love the fact that I can decide when I want to work and how many hours I want to do and still get full pay! I also love the fact that everyone tip toes around me, its so wonderful!

Al, I've decided to make myself a t-shirt when I'm bigger saying something along the lines of "don't touch my stomach, I bite!"

Jun 26, 2007, 12:36 PM
Cool tamed that's great to hear another fellow brit we are down near southampton, how are you enjoying the wind and the rain??

I just like the fact our prescriptions are free for two years lol

alkalineangel
Jun 26, 2007, 12:42 PM
Uhg... IM still jealous about the free prescrips thing... I hate paying 30 bucks for a five day prescription.

I know there are a lot of pregnant folks out there... wonder where they all dashed off to...

tamed
Jun 26, 2007, 12:45 PM
Free dental too, I'm thinking of getting my teeth straightened and prob bleached just to get them back for the money they've taken from me! Southhampton eh? We're miles apart, I'm in essex.

Jun 26, 2007, 12:46 PM
OK guys I'm almost 8 weeks and I fill HUGE already this is my third with my youngest not two yet, but anyway while I'm in the mood I feel like venting I am so hungry ALL the time and when I do get nausaes I still want to eat what's up with that.

OH yeah and I'm going crazy because I have the strongest feeling that I'm having twins with my first two it never crossed my mind but this time around I have had the strongest feeling since I found out I was pregnant.

alkalineangel
Jun 26, 2007, 12:59 PM
I thought that too just because I was so big so fast, but an ultrasound has proven otherwise. I heard the symptoms are much worse with twins, I wouldn't know personally though. I was pretty sick there for a while, but that stopped a week or two ago, and now I eat everything.

curlybenswife
Jun 26, 2007, 01:16 PM
Not that far tamed I could have been in the outer hebradees lol

tamed
Jun 26, 2007, 02:17 PM
CBW, I'm around the Upminster side of essex but you're right you could be further!
Crystal, some say that some women just know that they are having twins, I had no idea I was having twins until I saw the scan as everything (nausea and the works) were within normal parameters. The other twin almost eluded the sonographer by hiding under the gas! Yet I know many women with single pregnancies who's symptoms have been much worse than mine, it all depends really. I must say I am curious as to how big I will get, I've seen pictures of others and they scare me sometimes!

I'm 17w4d with my first. It is so wonderful! I started showing around 8 weeks, and am huge now! I measured with toilet paper today and am 10 squares around! I started feeling my little one a bit past 15 weeks, so it has been very eventfull. Hopefully we will know on July 16 if it is a boy or girl! (I'm feeling boy)

Crystal, where are you from?

Eleven weeks!

automansgirl
Jun 26, 2007, 09:58 PM
Don't worry becca, it will go by quickly! For me the first 10-12 weeks went by so slowly. Now it's just flying by! I was very surprised to feel baby move so early, especially with this being my first. The first movements for me felt like my uterus rolled in my belly. The next I didn't feel until about 4 days later and it felt like a few quick pokes from the inside. Now it's mostly flutters, and I still only feel it every couple of days. Enjoy it while you can. If you have morning sickness it should be going away soon. Eventually we will both be getting kicked hard enough and often enough we will wish for a little break! Being pregnant is so awesome!

Im not bothered hunn to be honest had it when I was having millie and I know that my specialist will be doing it

tamed
Jun 27, 2007, 02:02 AM
I wish I had your attitude when I was going in but to make matters worse I had to look at all these numbers when she was done. Normally, it wouldn't have taken me so long to realise that they were odds but for some (pregnancy) reason, I just sat there wondering what the hell I was looking at and why no one was explaining it to me. Its done now, I'm glad it over with. How's your mood today CBW? Eating anything good?

curlybenswife
Jun 27, 2007, 02:36 AM
Guess I'm just lucky as millie was 8 weeks prem I will get extra care as I'm classed as high risk I'm just not going to stress over it there's no point I know what's coming and what will probably happen.
Ive just been sick for the first time ever lol I choked on a drink and bam lol
Not going to stop me eating though I'm just about to get my mocca and cornflakes :D

How about you?? How you feeling this morning

tamed
Jun 27, 2007, 02:41 AM
Looks like we both have something in common then, we're both considered high risk. I do like all the extra attention though, makes me feel special.

Mmmmnnnn, cornflakes, what's that like again?
Sorry to hear about your puking though.

I've just done my fair share of throwing up, not too bad so far so here's hoping! I'm trying to eat a banana which is not going so well, looks like its just me and my water again until I get really hungry.

Oh goodness, just wait till you lay down to go to sleep and your belly is still bouncing around... lol. That's the best...

I never had the testing for downs and what not... never felt the need I guess. Its all optional here.

curlybenswife

I think my better half has got enough positivity for the both of us (the perks of having Asperger's I suppose!) he doesn't see the point in negativity unless there is a reason to be. I'm really trying to be as positive but it is my first pregnancy. I must admit though, I worried much less when I thought there was only one, but as soon as I found out otherwise, panic set in and it hasn't quite disappeared yet. I'm not stressed though, just you know, more maternal.

hehe...i just checked the official countdown on Mugglenet.com... yes, 23 days for the book, 13 for the movie..

I know the book was definitely July 20th, just wasn't too sure about the movie. Book comes out the same day the schools here break up for summer so it's a bit of good and bad news but I guess I can handle it. Some of us have been waiting for what seems like a lifetime for this book. It was almost as bad as the wait for Lemony Snicket's last book, that was torture!

alkalineangel
Jun 27, 2007, 10:31 AM
I have been in hell... it seemed so long... even though it really hasn't been... man, you get it a day earlier... you must be in europe... we get the book at 12:01 am July 21... Ill be in line at borders.. already have it pre-ordered. The movie originally was coming out on the 13, a week before the book, but now they are releasing it on Wednesday, the 11...

Congratulations all you wonderfully pregnant people... Just had a comment on the harry potter thing... I can't wait till I can get to both the book and the movie. I can't wait to see the pink toad... lol. And the book is killing me the wait is so long... Ok now that I got that out of my system. I wish you all very happy healthy pregnancies. I am glad I'm not you in this heat. I was pregnant last year with twins so don't think I haven't been through the heat... lol. I am just glad it's not me this year...

Congrats babie! That's so exciting!

Crystal, I was just wondering cause you look just like someone I know from Indiana. (Who also has 2 children)

Just to add my two cents about the Harry Potter topic... my husband decided he wants to read to the baby, and all we had that were good children's books were the Harry Potter series for my step son. He's been reading a chapter a night to the baby. We're just about through reading the first book. We've seen the movies, but didn't realize how incredible the books are!

She's great but then I would say that I'm her mum lol we walked up to the little post office this afternoon the little old lady up there get so excited when she see's her all the customers get ignored and she plays with her lol.
If you can keep juices down get hubby to go to sainsburys and buy some of the fruit smoothys they have there rammed with goodies.

tamed
Jun 28, 2007, 09:31 AM
I'm sure she is great otherwise the lady at the post office wouldn't enjoy playing with her for so long. There are some kids you can't do that with, they're like little monsters or something they go into the shops and destroy things!
Hubby's already eleven steps ahead of you CBW, he's already gone to pick more up for me. Him and his parents get excited when I keep something down, so they just go out and buy tons of them! I've got mangoes everywhere I look at the moment because I wanted them last week! Aren't I lucky?

curlybenswife
Jun 28, 2007, 10:02 AM

curlybenswife

Not nescisarily hunny I have days where I feel nothing but its definitely moving I can hear it on the doppler going crazy

crystalbivens
Aug 29, 2007, 10:18 AM
Yes we have had three ultrasounds all showing the heartbeat and every doctors visit we here it just don't feel the movement and deffently know the feeling

curlybenswife
Aug 29, 2007, 10:21 AM
You know my friend them is due christmas day and she can't feel anything either basically her sack is to thick the guy that did the scan last week was amazed she couldn't feel baby as it was really going some.

alkalineangel
Aug 29, 2007, 10:22 AM
As long as they keep finding the heartbeat, I wouldn't be too concerened... has it been a while since your last? I know there were times when I went in as well, and we could hear the movements on the doppler and I never felt them... if you hear the swishing staticky noise on the doppler... thats movement... sometimes the doctors don't mention that is what it is... you should be having a 20 week scan here soon, I'm sure all is fine.

tamed

Congrats to you all.

Tamed.. how about "BEWARE OF TWINS" (Twice the Kick!)

http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_2_138.gif

You know I think I may have to get one of those! I know its nobody's fault but it really gets to me when people (even some drs) say 'is the baby kicking?', I find myself constantly trying not to yell 'BABIES, BABIES! And yes THEY do' Somehow I feel that the other twin is being left out but I guess its just one of those maternal instinct things or something right?
Apart from that though, I'm doing OK thanks Cherry. Getting bigger by the day, pain iis making it difficult to walk so I'm not sure if I should go back to work.
CBW, time goes by quickly doesn't it?

curlybenswife
Aug 30, 2007, 06:35 AM
Ah tamed my dear are you back to eating normaly now?

tamed
Aug 30, 2007, 07:40 AM
I am actually thanks for asking. Between you and me though, this eating business is a bit too much for my liking and I cannot seem to keep up, these hourly trips to the kitchen and the fridge can be a bit taxing for someone who's used to going there only twice a day or so, but I am grateful that I only crave real food and by that I mean the healthy stuff, still not keen on the sweet stuff!
They are moving around a lot more in there now and I think one of them has discovered that kicking (or punching) my ribs gets my attention!
How you doing? Still eating? Never did get to see the finished product of your kitchen do you still have the pics?

curlybenswife
Aug 30, 2007, 07:44 AM
Blimey kitchen pics um there here somewhere ill have a look lol, I'm still eating but not as much I'm having a yucky few weeks been sick and stuff and now my daughters is ill too if it doesn't rain it pours here lol.
Im glad to hear your able to eat now though hunn you really were suffering.

tamed
Aug 30, 2007, 08:29 AM
I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well, did the doctors say what it is or is it just one of those pregnancy things? If it makes you feel any better, I still get nauseated in the mornings. Millie sounds like a trooper though, fingers crossed she'll be running around again in no time. Take it easy though and get plenty of rest.

curlybenswife
Aug 30, 2007, 08:37 AM
Rest with a 2 year old in the house lol those to words don't go together giggle, I just keep getting cold after cold and a pee infection too and of course the anti b's gave me thrush I've just had enough of generally feeling yuck ah well it will pass I just need a good nights sleep that's a laugh too hehehehe what the hells sleep not a hope when she is ill that's for sure just wait you have all this to come giggle.

alkalineangel

IM worried about him waking the baby up, and our normal nighttime and meal routines getting readjusted and what not...

curlybenswife
Aug 30, 2007, 10:26 AM
I think its going to take a few weeks of adjustment getting baby into a routine and trying our hardest not to adjust millie or connors the new baby has to fit into there's its only fair.

alkalineangel
Aug 30, 2007, 11:21 AM

It will be fine as I say baby has to fit in with them and then its including them in absolutely everything it will be fine we just have to work it all the right way no pressents for baby without a pressent for connor or millie its got to be fair I'm going to buy millie a tiny tears for when baby arrives then she will have a baby of her own.

Congratulations leesh!
CBW, Al and Crystal, you guys are really starting to scare me. If you guys have at least one kid already and still worry about how you will adjust with the new baby, how should I feel? These two are my first and I have no idea what's in store for me. The further along I go, the more I realise that I haven't got a clue. Everyone around me is giving me a list of things I should have done but I don't even know where to begin! The only thing I've bought so far is a buggy and that's because there was a sale on at the time. I'm constantly bombarded with people telling me how much worse things will be with twins. My hubby (bless him) is a trooper but I think reality is getting to him too even if he won't admit it. Well enough of my rant, how's everyone else?

curlybenswife
Aug 31, 2007, 02:07 AM
Tamed you will be fine two at once won't be an awfull lot different to one just another mouth to feed and another bum and at least you won't get full on tantrums and screaming because you aren't giving the other attention our little ones can talk and tell us there disapproval only to well that's where our problem lays.
But having twins will be a breeze for you because you know no different have you asked your midwife if there is anyone local you can talk to that has twins??

tamed
Aug 31, 2007, 02:28 AM
I have a couple of friends with twins and they seemed to have coped fine, although I think they were more clued up than I am. They say the same thing that you've just said, I guess I just didn't think that we would have so little time to prepare the house and now I'm so tired, I can barely walk and feel very useless.
About your little ones, I can understand your concerns. I've seen too many times parents over compensating that the older one continues to get all the attention and the new baby just gets the basics. But I'm sure you guys would balance it out and won't get bullied by either one.

I'm quite a hard cow bag my mother in law says I'm harsh but then I don't want millie to be a brat like her cousin georgie as that is one vile little cow.
No mother knows what to do hunn we learn as we go I'm sure you actually have more knowledge than you realise don't let it bother you it does come very naturally.
As for having lots to do well hey that's what internet shopings for and make that hubby and the family do stuff that's what they are there for ;)

I felt the need to chime in here... Tamed, twins are truly not as hard as everyone thinks they are. Don't go out and buy two cribs they sleep a lot better if they are in bed with one another. It's the only way they know. Make sure that you do your feedings with them very close to the same time. And the biggest thing is to keep a schedule with them. My twins just turned one three days ago. They sleep 12 hrs at night with one to two 2hr naps a day. Keeping a schedule is going to keep you sane. You can trust me on that one. Feel free to send me a message if you want to. I do have some experience in the area of twins.

Everythings fine so far hunn it's a wee lad its been a long long day I certainly won't be late to bed tonight, millie seems to be on the mend going to probably take her back to the dr on Wednesday just to get her ear re checked as they did ask me to take her back.
How you feeling??

Myth
Sep 4, 2007, 09:18 AM
We call that placenta brain, cause your so busy worrying about what the placenta is doing for the baby you just forget everything else... lol. Not to mention I haven't been around as much as I usually am. I've been gutting the house we bought and getting it put back together how I want it... lol. I'll post picks of the finished product. I'm going to be sitting a second set of twins after we move that are a month younger than mine. My hubby thinks I'm insane. I figure they need me and my kids need other kids to play with so why not where I can be there and supervise them.

*edit*
Oh and just to let you know that when your at your wits end and they are screaming at the top of their lungs it's OK to put them in a safe place and let them cry a little. It's better than letting your emotions get to them cause they will know when your frustrated and unhappy and it will upset them. I still have to give myself a time out some days *especially during their more vocal teething*.

tamed
Sep 4, 2007, 09:50 AM
Placenta brain... I like that! Good luck with the house gutting although I must say that I admire you for finding time to do all these things. You're like supermum or something. I don't think you're insane wanting to babysit another set of twins, I can understand you perfectly. I was saying to my hubby the other day that I wouldn't mind another set of twins after these ones come out. Don't ask me why but even with all the stuff I've gone through with this pregnancy, I would gladly do it again. Ok, now I'm just talking plain stupid... ignore me.
I have to thank you once again for your reassuring words, my life seems less chaotic now, you're like a refreshing hot bath at the end of a hectic day.

Woo Hoo! A wee little lad at least you can put your mind at ease a little more now that you know things are OK with him. I'm very happy for you though, take it easy and get plenty of r & r.

Is the pain right on you pelvic bone hun? Can move slightly to one side or the other?

tamed
Sep 4, 2007, 11:45 AM
The pain is actually quite difficult to describe but I'll try to put it into words. Its more around my pubic bone, walking is agonising and moving from side to side is a nightmare, even opening my legs too wide is painful. Do you know of something similar?

Myth
Sep 4, 2007, 01:05 PM
I went through the same type of pain all throughout my pregnancy with the twins. I was told that it was my sons head resting on my pubic bone and my daughters weight on his was causing the pain. I also had a lot of round ligament pain. It really didn't get too unbearable until around six months though. I had to sit at work because of it. The dr put me on moderate bed rest at five months though because I was high risk and working was causing me to swell up so bad.

Congrats on the little man cbw. I think I missed that the first time around.

Al, it's a releif to hear that you have the contractions under control and hopefully no more hospital visits until after you're ready for little Jack to come out.
I haven't been around in a while, I've got so much going on. I have Symphisis Pubis Pain for which I'm having physio every week. At one point the consultant was worried about Twin-To-Twin Transfusion syndrome because one twin is smaller than the other but they've now concluded that they've been like that since the beginning and there is nothing to worry about which is good news. I'm almost 29 weeks now, haven't been able to go back to work since the beginning of last month but we're house hunting so that's been keeping me active.

Im contemplating ringing my midwife my arms and hands hurt and keep getting pins and needles its driving me mad.

How's everyone else doing this morning?

tamed
Nov 5, 2007, 04:53 AM
CBW, its time to call the midwife love. They ask me about pins and needles as well I think it may be something to do with blood flow because even the physio asked me about it. Call them up, they are usually quite pleasant about people who ask questions, not sure what its like around your area. Let me know how it goes.

Awww, sorry to hear that CBW...
In the US we have places besides the pharmacies to buy medical equipment and essentials like bandages, and braces... they are a whole lot cheaper! Maybe that is something you could consider? Sorry, I know it hurts and is so annoying.

curlybenswife

Ah well guess I wait for it to get so bad I can't do anything at the moment they just seize while doing stuff and I have to straighten my fingers with my elbows lol

CBw you poor thing, I didn't realise what you were going through. For some reason I kept forgetting to comment on your cts. So will it go away when Theo comes along? At least you have an extra excuse to not do much around the house!
melissa1, I wouldn't worry too much about not getting any symptoms, remember every pregnancy is different and you are not that far along so you could wake up one day with all the symptoms or you may be one of the lucky women whose worst symptom would be bigger breasts! Congratulations though and I wish you all the best with the pregnancy.

How are the rest of you doing??

tamed
Nov 11, 2007, 03:21 PM
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you too. We're OK, one of the twins is growing at a single baby rate whereas the other is growing at the twin rate. Naturally, the registrars and consultants are running around to get me seen at the fetal medicine unit to make sure all is going well but other than that everything looks great. My stomach is getting lower but I hope these babies can hang in there for the three weeks at least. How's Theo doing? Doing any Christmas shopping this year, I'm using the babies as an excuse so I'm only going to be sending cards.

curlybenswife
Nov 12, 2007, 02:53 AM
Sadly I won't get away with not shopping bens family is a nightmare to shop for, for the pure fact there's so many of them and they think I'm made of money mines easy we only buy for the kids but then there's only 5 of us on my side of the family his is there are 13 of them its wrong if you ask me that they all expect pressents it should just be the neices and nephews but hey ho must just be me thinking that christmas is for the kids.
Hey you have done very well keeping the wee ones safe and warm this long keep up the good work, I'm fine and theo is fine millie is just being millie lol nothing new there ;)

well im 6 weeks pregnant but dont feel any different yet
with my 1st i didnt have any signs until i was 9 weeks im slighty worried
Don't worry. In my first trimester, I didn't have the usual symptoms either.. I just knew I was pregnant and started taking vitamins and iron (didn't go to the doctor because I was not supposed to get pregnant due to heart problems, then in the 5th month, I went in and got scolded by him, but we both made it. I also did not have morning sickness - and neither did my daughter when she was pregnant - I guess that's just something that not every woman has.
I did get an aversion toward Tide laundry detergent and cooking hamburger meat - the smell irritated me. I did have a lot of heartburn in the 2d and 3rd trimesters though.
With my daughter, she had occasional heartburn, and tingling in her legs, but that was in the 2d trimester and got a little worse, but all in all she was fine.

The best way to get reassured so that you are more relaxed is to have an ultrasound done.

I wish all of you wonderful ladies happy and uneventful deliveries - well, as uneventful as possible - it does hurt a little.. ha.. ha.

You do a good job at incubation and nourishing, so we all understand you dear. Give that boy a nice rub and a tickle for me, and millie a hug!

Posh is when a woman gets another woman to do all the work and take the end-product home... so that's not you - you just know and accept your limits.
