The Times today is taking the rare step of publishing an anonymous Op-Ed essay. We have done so at the request of the author, a senior official in the Trump administration whose identity is known to us and whose job would be jeopardized by its disclosure.

My best guess is that the author is a NeverTrumper assistant to the White House chef ;or at most ,a low level paper pusher .......one of those nameless ,faceless cogs of the bureaucracy . The ones who pass by you un-noticed and may strike up a conversation about the Nats or the weather at the water cooler .

I respectfully disagree Clete, as we don't have a KBG in America, and we have a right to blast the boss. We may get fired, but until specific allegations are proved, the Anonymous author is innocent of a crime. Unlike his boss who is being investigated for crimes. Personally I don't think the author has revealed anything new or is a secret, but having observed all that he alleges, has been pretty incompetent in blowing the whistle on bad behavior and has allowed it to go on, and that assumes what he said is true, and the account accurate.

Yeah that's pretty much how it goes and has gone before, and it's the dems this time playing gotcha, but repubs are very good at it too. As to whether this nominee gets confirmed, and his rulings once confirmed, we wait and see, just like all the rest of the justices before him. As bad as you say the dems looked in those confirmation hearings, you ignore how repubs slobbered all over Kavanaugh with praise and easy soft ball questions.
