We purchased a 2000 B4000 a few years ago and noticed that the fuel filler CAP required "extra effort" to open and close. We also noticed that this style does not make "clicking" noises when closing. This CAP eventually broke and was replaced. About a year later the fuel filler NECK rusted through and would not allow proper delivery of fuel to the tank (fuel just ended up on the ground). The NECK assembly and CAP were replaced with NEW parts during the same service. The new CAP still requires extra effort and the top half of the CAP has again broken off the threaded part of the CAP leaving the bottom/threaded part of the CAP in the NECK and the top part of the CAP in my hand. Is there a permanent fix to this? That is, is there a way to make it so that the CAP can be removed and installed easier with no breakage? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Note: the capitalization of "NECK" and "CAP" was done due to the aggravation incurred from dealing with service advisors who can't/don't want to listen. ARGH!
