Hello:

Republicans who live in the blue states that are run by red legislatures and Republican governors, have hatched a NEW plan (http://www.salon.com/2013/01/24/virginia_republicans_jump_on_the_deform_the_electo ral_vote_bandwagon/?source=newsletter) to reverse the will of the people. Instead of the winner taking ALL the electoral college votes, they want to ascribe those votes to congressional districts.

If that scheme had been in effect in 2012, even though Obama won the popular vote, 51% to 47%, Romney would be president...

Should we let them steal our democracy?

Do you actually believe that... ever see the jerrymandered voting districts in blue states?

Ever wonder what's really behind the people that want to make DC a state rather than return it to MD like the law actually would require.(you got it.. Democrats trying to steal more elections)... you know like part of Northern VA that was once part of DC after it was carved out of MD and VA for the purpose of having a Capital not in part of a state.

I can attest to that.. I'm in my 3rd congressional district in the last 12 years. Each new change I end up with a more progressive rep. At least with Eliot Engel I had a rep who agreed with me for the most part on American foreign policy. Now I have been handed off to Nita Lowey ;an incurable flaming lib. This is also the 2nd time my neighborhood has been carved out of our county and added to a district on the other side of the Hudson River.

Ex ;like it or not ,the States assign the allocation of the Electoral votes for their state. It is no different than the plan some blue states concocted where they would ignore the state vote and assign their electors to the candidate who won the national popular vote even if the people of the state voted for the other candidate .

Hmmm "blue "states that have Republican governors and majority legislatures.. I assume the people of the "blue state " will be sufficiently outraged to oust the Governor and legislature.

Nope .
If the congressional district system had been used in these six states , instead winner takes all , Romney would have won 61 electoral votes in those states and 45 for Obama. . Obama's margin would have been reduced from 332-206 to 271-267.He still would've won the national election.

Hello again,

Ok, Democrats aren't immune from tampering when THEY have the chance. As a nation, we're ALL being cheated when it happens.

Here's the deal... This ISN'T going to fly.. Americans will NOT put up with a LOSER, and a LOSER by a big margin becoming president. If you think we will, you're not living in the same country I do. Given this push, and last summers voter suppression push, and election reform BEING on Obama's agenda, this kind of micky mouse has seen its last days.

Well, I did get my panties in a wad over the phony Iraq war... Let me see. Over 4,000 Americans died there.

That, plus the fact that there's NO there, there. I believe what the secretary said. There's NO coverup, because there was NOTHING to cover up. We've been here before. Tom says the coverup was that it was a secret CIA base. But, as I said before, it's NOT a coverup to keep the whereabouts of a CIA base SECRET.. It's a national PRIORITY.

I'm sorry 4 Americans died.. But, since you've been yelling and screaming about 4 dead Americans, 300 MORE dead Americans happened in Afghanistan. Why aren't your panties in a wad about THAT??

You must think we are dumb to think you can use a legitimate argument that really has no merits given the cases of voter fraud over the last 10 years, to hide the real motives to suppress the minority vote. Even while you were doing other underhanded stuff with your own republican voter registration firms that were found to be fraudulent.

Tricks and traps that frankly was an attempt to cheat the American public to gain an election victory. And you seem to be at it again, this time claiming the democrats in the city unfairly outnumber the repubs in the burbs.

That's a good one.

Hello again,

Here's what MY information tells me about the 2012 election IF the vote rigging scheme had been in effect.

Romney WINS!

Nope ,that's only true if ALL the states adopted the plan. If only the 6 states you are talking about did it ,Obama still wins.

If these six battleground states were to adopt the congressional district method of awarding electoral votes, it would not guarantee a Republican victory in the 2016 presidential election but it would make such a victory much more likely. That’s because the congressional district lines in these states were gerrymandered by Republican legislatures following the 2010 census to give their party a huge advantage. As a result, even though Obama carried all six states in 2012, it appears that Romney carried 61 House districts in these states to only 33 for Obama. Romney appears to have carried 16 of 27 House districts in Florida, 9 of 14 House districts in Michigan, 12 of 16 House districts in Ohio, 12 of 18 House districts in Pennsylvania, 7 of 11 House districts in Virginia and 5 of 8 House districts in Wisconsin.

If the congressional district system had been used in these six states in 2012, instead of Obama winning all of their 106 electoral votes, it appears that Romney would have won 61 electoral votes to only 45 for Obama. As a result, Obama’s margin in the national electoral vote would have been reduced from 332-206 to only 271-267.

Larry J. Sabato's Crystal Ball » REPUBLICAN ELECTORAL COLLEGE PLAN WOULD UNDERMINE DEMOCRACY (http://www.centerforpolitics.org/crystalball/articles/republican-electoral-college-plan-would-undermine-democracy/)
Anyway ,Governor McDonnell in VA. Opposes the plan .So it isn't happening there .But there are already a number of states that plan to go winner take all to the popular vote winner. That will also distort the election results .

It wasn't 5 minutes before election day... and It should ALWAYS have been required... when you have over 20 million illegals running loose, you HAVE to be certain people have the RIGHT to vote before allowing them to vote.

Most other countries REQUIRE an ID before you can vote. The ONLY reason to not require one.. is because people that fight against it WANT illegals voting. And not just illegals... they believe dead people are entitled to their right to vote.. as are people in comas.. and Alzheimers patients.

Some loony in New Mexico wants rape victims who get pregnan to carry the baby to term or else face jail for tampering with evidence.

Hey settle down do your ID laws, because people have plenty of time before the mid terms, and you can either get more voter machines, or more early voting. And we can slam you for trying to rig an election... AGAIN!

Um, that was a COMPANY, not the GOP, which fired them way back (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/3283927-post610.html). Actual fraud and shenanigans by Democrats, not employees of someone else unaffiliated with the party, has already been documented here (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/current-events/voter-id-suppression-678733-79.html#post3315992). Like that had anything to do with it... and I'm sure no democrat Governor worked against Owebamas competition the last two elections...

The courts proved Bush won fair and square... Gore and Kerry tried to cheat...

At least Kerry was man enough to admit he lost fair and square... I don't like him but I have to give him credit for that... Gore is a wuss and a sore loser... a small minded man with an even smaller wiener... that has to compensate for it with his bloviating and chest beating.
