We live in an OLD farm house with a stone basement. Whenever we flush the toilet the basement wall leaks. It is clean water. Any ideas what the cause is and how to fix it?

Couple of questions if you don't mind... first, where is the toilet ? Is it in the basement? And second, where in the stone basement is the leak?. Is it leaking down the wall if the toilet is upstairs or is the leak near the toilet on the basement floor. Not that I can answer since I am not a plumber but there is a plumber that's a member of this site and I am sure this may help him and others in giving you a good answer.

I take it that the toilet's located on a upper,(first or second) floor. You must track the leak back to the source. Are there drainage pipes near or in the wall, where the water can be seen? Have you opened up the ceiling under the toilet to see if the leak originates from there? What have you done to track it down so far? Regards, Tom,
