I had my last period June 17 - 20, we have been trying to get p and this month I was 3 days late. I started bleeding very lightly at first then it got a little heavier, then light again, the bleeding only lasted a day and half. I also had some cramping.
Has anyone ever had this happen before? If so is it my period or implantation bleeding?

I am not sure but have been experiening similar symptoms myself. The last day of my lmp was June 29. My period should have started July 22 ( I have a 24 day cycle) and on July 20 I had little pinkish/red spotting that went away within an hour or so the more spotting again today more brown but I too have had mild cramping... which has made me think my period was starting but it is still spotting...

I would like to know if it is too soon to take a hpt? Please let me know if you get any other info on it?

Hi, I have been experiencing the same symptoms. My last period was July 2-5, my next period should start around the 1st of August but I am having spotting and a little heavier. I'm a really heavy bleeder so that's why I am wondering if it is implantation bleeding instead of my period. My periods are usually regular since I've been on the pill for a little more than a year.

If y'all have any suggestions please let me know. Does this mean I am pregnant or need to go get a hpt?

I have been trying to conceive for over a year I had my period on July 20th I ovulated on the 3rd of aug we had intercourse on the 1st 3rd and 4th. I began cramping on the 15th and started spotting a very light pink on the 18th the cramps went away then on the 19th for app. 6 hours I had med blood flow that was kind of dark then it went back to light pink to brown spotting for 5 days. My period is normally very heavy from day one to day 4 with a lot of cramps then it stops on day 5. I am always regular and its always the same length and flow. I wondered if I was finally pregnant so I took hpt on the 27th its seemed negative. But had a very faint second line. I have been very nauseas and tired, I've been urinating a lot more then normal and have several symptoms of pregnancy but I'm afraid I'm not . I thought maybe this was implantation bleeding but can't find a clear answer anywhere. I don't want to go to the doctor if I'm not . Can anyone offer some advice. Thanks ,candie

Hi everyone, I'm in the same boat as the rest of you all. My husband and I are trying to get pg, I ovulated on the 31st of August and I spotted a tiny bit on the 3rd 4th and 5th. It was brownish color and it was just one spot on the 3rd and two spotts on the 4th and one on the 5th. My periods are usually very heavy and last 6-8days with a lot of cramping. I know this wasn't a period. So what was it?
I would like to think it was implantation bleeding but I hate to get my hopes up. I don't want to waste the money on a hpt and have it be too soon for it to read it. I know you are supposed to wait till the day after your first missed period but that just seems so long from now. Is a pt that the doctor takes more acurate then one from a hpt?

Hey there are pregnancy tests that you can take 4 days prior your period. And a blood test at your doctors can tell you even earlier.

The average range of implantation is between 7 to 9 days post ovulation. If it were implantation spotting, it probably would have been the result of sex a few days before that. It could have been ovulation spotting which occurs at roughly the middle of the month and if you're trying to conceive, it's a good idea to have sex if you see this type of spotting, especially when it's accompanied with lubricative cervical fluid. However, if it is implantation bleeding then you should wait at least 3 or 4 days for the levels of HCG to build up and it's even better to wait until the day after your period was due to avoid false negatives. Not a doc. :)

I had a light period - 1.5 days- that started on exactally the same day as my period starts, and I AM 6 weeks pregnant... so yes, for one month I thought I had had just a really light period, but then breasts started hurting, and took a pregnancy test...

We've been trying for a few months and I almost gave up hope for another month when I felt some cramping yesterday and saw a brownish discharge last night. I had a little more brownish discharge overnight, then nothing except a light pink streak around lunch. I have cramps that come and go.

I don't have any other symptoms of pregnancy. My period was due today. Anyone know if this is implantation (14 days after supposed ovulation - I don't track temperature or anything, just by counting) or just my period going weird?

Hi, I have a similar situation, I am sooo confused, I am not due for my period for another week and this last week I noticed my discharge is pink... I have never had this before, except the time I was pregnant with my daughter. I am worried and I hate playing the waiting game. My last period start date was January 12/2005, and me and my boyfriend were intimate on monday/tuesday janunary 31/febuary 1st/2005... late night... still with me? Could it be possible It is implantation bleeding already? Or I am worried it is something else serious... please if you have any comments please help.

YES, you can have light bleeding and be pregnant! Here is my story:) My last period was March 12, usually I have a 35 day cycle but it has gone up to 52 days. On April 15 ( 35 day cycle) I did a pregnancy test.. it was negative. On April 18 I took another urine pregnancy test.. negative. On the 19 I had small cramps, few drops of brown blood. On the 20th I had high cervix, few drops of blood. On the 21 and 22 I had no bleeding at all but small cramps. On the 23 I had a few drops of blood and a reaaally faint positive urine test. On the 24, no blood, no cramps. On the 25 I took a blood test.. POSITIVE! On the 27 I got my hcg levels checked and I was already at 3400 mIU/ml. ( 5 weeks pregnant? ) My urine tests were for 20 mIU and for me they didn't work. So yes, if you have very light bleeding, dull cramps and a high cervix that doesn't drop... you can be pregnant! I felt like my period was going to come but it never did. I suggest getting a pregnancy blood test done, I don't trust the urine tests very much. So far I zero symptoms.. not tired, boobs are not sore and I don't feel sick at all. My cervix is high and feels bigger and soft.. puffy like. Hope that helps, good luck to you all!

I have experienced a similar situation... I was suppose to start my period on May 1st, but was late. I took two pregnancy tests, feeling for sure, that I was pregnant, but they were both negative. I finally started my period on May 5, yesterday, but it's just been light spotting that's dark brownish. I have mild cramps, but really no pregnany symptoms. I'm never, ever late, so I am really confused as to what's going on. I'm not getting my hopes up, but my period is surely different than usual.

Hi Thope, If your period is different than normal, I would go and get a blood test. The urine tests didn't work for me, I took 3 and they came out negative. The last test I took, 4 days later I took a blood test and my hcg levels were already 3400 mIU... and my urine test was for 20 mIU. If your just spotting then its possible you are pregnant.

I need some help...
My LMP was May 1st, I have a 28 day cycle, I had some spotting on the 24th of May, which last only 1/2 a day, I was supposed to get my period on Sunday 29 May, but I still haven't gotten a period yet...
For the last 2 weeks, I have been hacking up a lot, I mean constantly hacking up phlem, Now my thighs are covered in bruises...
I looked on a ovulation calendar and my most fertile day was on the day I let him (you know) inside me... anyhow, I took a HPT but the results were negative... what do you guys think?
My husband has been sick for the last 2 weeks on and off with slight fevers and is eating more than the average person.
Also, my son (who is 4) has never clinged on to anything or has been attached to anything or anyone BUT for the last 2 weeks, he won't let go, or won't go to sleep without this teddy bear. He also won't do anything I tell him to do... he is a very obedient child and very independent. Maybe it is just my imagination... but could these also be signs of pregnancy?

HI Silvasis. I don't think your husband being sick or your son clinging to you is any way related to you being pregnant. Your pregnancy will not affect them in that sense, for its your body that would undergo changes if you are pregnant. If you are only spotting and still don't have your period, I would suggest going for a blood test. I had spotting and cramping and I took 3 urine tests and they were all negative, but my blood test was clearly positive. I personally do not trust the urine tests. If your blood test is negative than its most likely you are not pregnant. Your family may have picked up some kind of flu which is making you cough up phlem, give your husband fevers and making your child act different since he isn't feeling well. Sometimes stress, sickness, etc can delay a period. If you still don't get your period, go to your dr and get a blood pregnancy test. You can also explain to your dr how you and your husband are feeling and he can maybe determine if you have the flu. If you have any thoughts on being pregnant.. go get a blood test:))
Ps. Do you want to be pregnant?

My last NORMAL period was on April 11th, however, on May 1st I started having a brownish color spotting which lasted about a day or so. Then, it turned pink to light bleeding with mild cramps for about 7 days and stopped. I have a 28 day faithful cycle... my ovulation date was calculated to be on April 24th. My boyfriend and I had sex on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th. I should have started a normal period on May 9th, however I didn't. I did take a hpt a few days before the 9th with a negative result. It's now June 7th and still no period. Should I take another hpt or what? I am not exhibiting any other symptoms other than I do feel a wee bit more tired at times. Am I just over-reacting, wishful thinking, or just having abnormal periods? I would appreciate any advice.

Hi, well I was 5 weeks pregnant and I took 3 pregnancy tests.. all negative. I went for a blood test and my levels were already 3400 mIU/ml... so it made no sense why the urine pregnancy tests didn't work. I did get light spotting and mild cramping, but it was very obvious it wasn't a normal period. I am 11 weeks now and I still don't have any symptoms. My boobs are gettting bigger but they are not sore. Ive also had irregular periods going up to a 52 day cycle.. so anything is possible. If your really worried I would go for a blood test.. at least then you will know forsure. Sometimes worrying about your period delays it as well. Also I know its dissappointing to get a negative test and still no period.. you still feel unsure.. not to mention it gets expensive. Oh, when I should have got my period, my cervix was high and very round and closed, I believe if your period is coming it should drop... well it usually did for me. Good luck!

Any one that could help me please? I had sex with my boyfriend on June 4th, today is June 8th, m period is due June 13, but usually is a week late anyway, today I woke up with spotting, I took a hpt and it came back negative, but I am worried, I read that you can spot sometime during ovulation, and maybe that is all that is it, should I wait until Tuesday and redo the hpt and see, and just wait or do I go insane.

OK for everyone inquiring you can take a pregnancy test as soon as 4 days before your missed period... take the test... light bleeding can occur in pregnancy... may come from implantation then again it can come from your cervix etc... the best way to know is to take the pregnancy test and follow up with doctors visit... light bleeding is OK heavy bleeding with cramps is a problem if you are pregnant

Hey, I know that my girlfriend experienced the same thing when she was pregnant, before she even knew that she was pregnant. Her son was really clingy and her husband was sicker than a dog. She needless to say had no symptoms of pregnancy what so ever her husband had them the whole nine months. We just figured that their strong bond in their marriage did that. He did not mind that much ;) . Don't let no one discourage you. You would be surprised of some of the major changes pregnancy can make occur in your life. The doctor told her that children can sense pregnancy and will either become very clingy or comletely withdraw from the mother. An old wives tale says that the already born son will cling if the pregnancy is a girl, and will withdraw if the pregnancy is another boy. I don't know but good luck.

My period is a week late, three days before it was due I started to spot, and feel sick, then it went away the day my period, was suppose to come, I took a hpt, the day after it was due and it was negative, now a week later, I redid the test and it was still negative, could I just be missing a period, since my diet change, working more, my stress level is up. But the some times I feel sick to my stomach for the last two days, but I have been haven some of my pms sysmotoms, and thinking it just that... do you think I could be pregeant even know I have had three negative hpt.

PamelaAndChris04

Hey if you don't start real soon yeah I would suspect pregnancy. It could be from the stress and work, but usually you would think you would not spot you would just be late if it is from stress and work. You know? The spotting if it is a light pink or dark brown, then it could be implantation bleeding. I noticed the more I wait for my monthly the more I wait and wait and wait. So I just forget about it and it usually comes. But it really could just be from your stress levels. If it don't come within a week or so I would go to my doctor, see what he says. You could get a blood test done. I have heard that a blood test can detect pregnancy within like 2 days of conception.
Good luck to you worried. ;)

I had my last mp on June 17 and I am now 6 days late. I took a hpt twice and both are negative. I have some of the simtons ,but not all of them. I am not shure what do?
My boobs started to hurt a few days ago I get cramping but like a period cramp. I am more tired I did not get any acne and my boobs did not hurt a week before my mp. Whitch it normally does. I am every 30 days on my mp like clock work so when it did not come I was surprised. I did spot for a week before my mp so I don't know if that has anythimng to do with it. My husband I have been trying to get pregnant for 7 months now. When I took the second hpt it was negative but with a little bit of blood not enough to fill a pad or a tampon. So I am very confused at this point. My Gyno said wait 7 days to see what happeneds and this is day 6 what's the difference if it's one day. So I guess I will have to see and wait what hapeneds any feed back would help on this.

 My first day of my lmp was June 18th. I happened to go to the hospital and was admitted for some other issues. Well on June 28,29, July 1st we had sex then again on the 5th. A week later we did again. My period was due on the 18th of July its not the 22nd. I have been really sleepy for the past week or so even when I just wake up I'm still tired, boobs hurt not just sore they hurt, I feel sick at times but not to the point of puking. Little headaches now and then all within the past 2 weeks.Im still late though. This morning I went to tinkle and I wiped and saw like a faint pinish color with like blood streaks I was like well its starting. Then I went to tinkle about 30 minutes later because I have been going like a water faucet(lol) then I wiped it was nothing there. Then again it was mor pinker but still had the streaks. I put a pad on and nothing is on the pad still and I have seen it every time I wipe. Its not heavy even when I whip say 3 times you can't even see it on the tissue anymore. But I feel a little cramping but not like period cramp just like gas or something. I just don't know what to think or do. I am going to get a ept today and see what that says. I have kids and this has never happened before even though I have 5 now I want to have another one so bad cuss they say I might not be able to have any in the future if I continue to have abdominal issues.

HI. Well when my period was about a week late, I had mild cramping for a few days and verrry light spotting. My periods are very irregular but when I do get my period I don't spot like that, so I had a feeling I was pregnant, it just wasn't normal. I have a friend who had hard cramping when she missed her period and it turned out she was pregnant too. I had no pregnancy symptoms either, I felt totally normal. Im 4 months and I still don't have sore boobs. If you are anything like me, I would say you are pregnant. Three urine tests did not work on me so I would suggest getting blood work done, its more accurate and can detect lower levels of hcg. Perhaps you are under stress, which is making your period different. The only way to truly know is to get blood work done, the body can act strangely sometimes, especially when that is all you can think about. Good luck and I hope you are pregnant! ;)

I had my last mp on June 21 2005, had intercourse with my boyfriend on July 8,9, 10, & 11th. My mp was due on the 19th of July, I started bleeding or spotting on the 23rd and it stopped the night of the 24th. I had mild cramping. I usually am heavy for 4-5 days with bad cramping. I have to use the bathroom all the time, 3-4 times in the middle of the night. I have also been very tired, where I have no energy to do anything. I got off the pill in May and was wondering could the bleeding or spotting be different because I'm off the pill? If anyone can help please do. Thank you!

Jul 26, 2005, 11:28 AM
Hi Chantelly111. When I went off the pill I would sometimes go a long time without getting my period. I could go up to 55 day cycles, so you, sometimes going off the pill screws up your cycle and it takes some time to get back to normal. Were you regular before you went on the pill? It took about 2 years to get my cycles back on track. However when I got my period they were normal bleeding, just like when I was on the pill. I do remember when I was first pregnant I had to go to the bathroom a lot in the night and I never had to do that before. Now Im back to normal but it seemed the first few weeks I was pregnant I had to go a lot. You may be pregnant or your cycles are irregular due to going off the pill. I know a lot of girls who were irregular after going off the pill. I didn't really have any other pregnancy symptoms until I was 7 weeks or so, but a lot of my friends felt morning sickness right away. You will know if you get morning sickness, the feeling sucks. If you feel it, then I would say you are pregnant. I would defiantly take a test since you did get some cramping and light spotting. For me, the pill just made me irregular but I always bled the normal/same amount when my period came. If you were getting a true period I would think you would bleed more since the blood does need to come out. Take a test or go get some blood work done, then you will know forsure. Thinking about the symptoms will only drive you crazy. If you want to be pregnant.. good luck :)

Thank you Sherri for your info. I made a doctor's appointment today to get blood work done. Only because thinking about it and wondering is driving me crazy. My periods were regular and I have always been heavy flow, off and on the pill. I finished my last pack of pills in May and in June I had a regular period. So then July comes and I only bled for Thursday and Friday which is not normal for me. But like you said it could be because I just got off the pill. Usually I just have very very bad cramps and have a very heavy flow for at least 4-5 days. The only symptons I'm having is using the bathroom a lot, waking up feeling like I have held it forever and I have had some dizzy spells, bad headaches, very tired and the abnormal bleeding. Do you know how long it takes to get back the results from a blood test? I do hope to be pregnant. Thank you Sherri. I will talk to you soon.

Hey Chantelly1111. Well it only took an hour for me to get my blood test back, but my blood test was done in Venezuela. Im actually from Canada and my friend from there got her results back the same day, so normally I don't think it takes very long. When you go for your blood work and if you are pregnant, ask them to check your hcg levels too, if you want. I had to ask for this cause there are 2 tests they do, one just to see if you are positive or negative and the other test actually checks the amount of hormone you have. I thought I was only 4 weeks pregnant ( when you should miss your period) but my hcg levels was showing 5 weeks. When I went for my ultrasound, sure enough, I was showing a week extra. I just thought it was neat and to figure out when I actually conceived. Here is a website to look at, shows the levels http://www.bobrow.net/kimberly/birth/hcglevels.html
I so hope you are pregnant! Keep me posted! Talk to soon :)

Hey Sherri, I went to the doctor but all they would take was a urine test and it came back negative. They said they also tested to see if I had a urinary track infection and it came back negative so they couldn't give me a reason for why I was using the bathroom so much. The doc seems to think that the bleeding I had for a day and hlaf was my period and that my body is just getting back on track from going off the pill. So I guess I'm not pregnant. I'm dissapointed but OK. There is still time. Thanks for all your information and if anything new happens I will keep you posted. Talk to you soon :)

I am a week or less (anywhere from 5-7 days late) late for af. I had brown spotting on Friday and a bit Saturday with some dark red but not af just when I'd pee nothing on a pad. And very minor again on Sunday. In total it would maybe fill 1 regular tampon by my guess. My af is normally 2-3 days with regular flow using about 5 tampons a day and they'd be full.

I've tested many times with bfn every time. So confused! I've only been late when pg I am a regular cycle girl and have 26-28 (max) cycles depending if I O on cd12 or 14 (normally 12 so 26 day cycles).

I went to the dr yesterday and he said to wait another week. If no af (he doesn't think that spotting was it just either trying to come or implantation) they will do another test via pee and if that is negative they will give me blood test for hcg levels! So looks like I'll know in a week or less! He said if I'm not pg it could be the stress of trying to conceive causing it to not come on or stress in general. I said I've had more stress than this cycle (dd was sick dh in school work etc.) as I've been pretty relaxed this cycle compared to most. But we'll see. He also said if I'm not pg he's going to rever me to a specialist and they may do some rounds of clomid and monitoring (u/s on ovaries and such) so I'm pretty happy about the apt regardless of being pg or not!

Has anyone ever had this happen late spotting and bfn?

Theresa

This is sort of what my dr told me, I already knew this information, but with my daughter I got a bfp at 15dpo. With my miscarrage I didn't test till I was a couple weeks late as I was so busy moving into our new house and a new job I forgot and just thought yay right like I'd get pregnant the first time trying, well I did! But I did loose that baby.

I posted already with this:

I am interested to know if anyone is having really long cycles after coming off the pill. I should have gotten my period on July 4th ( or around there) but instead got LIGHT SPOTTING... I didn't even need a pad. It went away and still not a real period. I have tested 3 times and still negative. Was that my period? I called the doc and once I get my period they are going to test my hormone levels of day 28 of my next cycle to make sure I am ovulating. Anyone else suffer from anything like this?

I had something similar. My last period was on 11th of July, had an intercourse on 24th of July, on 7th of August got a bleeding (colour almost as normal just less - all together maybe 2 pads) but 3-4 days earlier than expected (7th of August) and lasted for 1,5 days, third day nothing at all and fourth one brownish spot. Usually my period lasts 5-6 days. Could this be an implantation bleeding? I got this bleeding exactly 14 days after the intercourse, took 2 tests: one on 9th and the other on 11th. Do you think it was too early to do them? Feeling different, little cramps, but more like continuous pain. When is the best time to do blood test? BIG THANKS to everyone that can help...

My first cycle after coming off the pill was a week longer than usual. My cousin was the same way. Also, my period was very light. I thought I may have been pregnant but wasn't. The next month however, I took a pregnancy test a few days before my period and was pregnant. I really didn't think I was (although my husband and I were trying) because I had cramping like my period was coming. I am now two months pregnant. Cramping still occurs, but very mild (this is normal). The month I found out I was pregnant I did have a little spot. I hope this info is of some help.

If you think you're pregnant I recommend just taking a ept test and if it says negative and you're still unsure go to your gyn and you will know for sure. I waited till I had two missed periods before I went. Good luck to all who want to be pregnant and chin up to those who don't want to be but find out they are! Take care all.

I have never been on the pill, never been pregnant and have very regular (25 days) periods. I'm 34 and just started trying last month around my ovulation time. I'm expecting my period to come, but instead had this dark brown pinkish stuff for a few days. I've NEVER missed a period, but took a hpt this morning (3 days past my expected period) and it was negative. So, I'm just going to wait and take it again in about a week I guess. I have all the normal period signs, but have really broken out, have to pee all the time and am really out of breath when walking up the stairs.. I usually work out a lot too, but have found my regular weights and aerobics really, really hard! Plus, I'm retaining a lot of h20 which I do every period.
I guess I'll just wait and see. How can you tell if your cervix is high? I have never heard that before.
Thanks!

Ok. I have a 36 day cycle. So CD 20 - CD 24 I was ovulating. Well, the whole time my boyfriend & I were trying. Well, my period is due Aug 22 or 23. ((My last period was July 18th.)) Well, 3 days ago I started spotting a little tiny bit then it stopped. Then on the 17th I woke up & I started spotting a little more then it got like a light med flow then back to very light. The 18th was the exact same. Then today, it was light red. Kinda looked like red water. Kinda like kool aide.. LoL. Well, then it turned a little brown & now it's gone. I took a pregnancy test today & when looking hard enough I thought the 2nd line looked very very faint. But maybe I just wanted so bad to see it. IDK. I have another test in case my period isn't here by Wed. What do you all think about this? My boobs don't hurt, but I do feel a little dizzy at times, last nite I was up til 3:30 feelin like I was going 2 puke & Ive been VERY moody. Ive cried 3 times today & didn't know why. OoO & also this morning when I woke up I had this nasty acid kinda taste in my mouth, it was really gross then it kinda faded after a little while. Ive also been gettin headaches & my BBT is stayin above 98.5.. IDK if thats good or not. I need some help.. SO HELP PLZ!!.. :o

BritainNichole... I am in the same boat as you. My last period was on July 19 and I have an avg of 36 day cycles. According to my calcuations my period should be on Aug 24 but starting the 22th I started to see this weird brown discharge. This morning I saw blood and thought, oh well, I guess it didn't happen. But now I am not sure. Throughout the day there hasn't been any more, just more brown. I took a pregnancy test on Sunday but it was negative but I think it was too early. Let me know if you find out one way or another.

I have been on the pill for almost 7 years now and my period has ALWAYS been ontime, the same heaviness and rarely changing. I am supposed to get my period in 6 days and am now experiencing these symptoms:
Constant feeling of wanting to pee, very light bright red spotting, sore back and slightly more acne.

What does this mean?? I'm worried about pregnancy or early miscarriage. Help please?

I have had something similar to you, cinbrou. The last day I took birth control was July 7. I got my period July 10 (it was normal and lasted 7 days). My next period, my first one off the birth control, came 4 days late (after 32 days). It, too, was normal. I am guessing that I ovulated sometime between August 23 and 28 (I have been very busy, and keeping up with temp and mucus charting is new to me). My husband and I had sex on Aug 23 and 25. On Aug 29, I noticed a very light discharge that was sort of mauve in color. It lasted on and off for a day. Could this be implantation bleeding, or did it occur too soon after suspected ovulation? When can I take a hpt? Since I am only 2 months off birth control, and my period didn't arrive on time last month, I don't really know when to expect it this cycle. Thank you to anyone with answers!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I have had some other pms-like symptoms. I normally have no symptoms until my period actually starts. Around the time the spotting occurred, I developed mild lower back pain, mild abdominal cramps, and what feels to be gas or bloating. I have no breast sensitivity (never have), and have been only a little bit moody. Anyone able to help?

I am having the same thing happen to me. I just posted a question asking about a similar situation as yours. Have you had strong cramps with bleeding... similar to a period?

jep212

I normally have NO PMS symptoms. The only way I know when my period is coming is by timing my cycle. This cycle, however, I have had PMS-like symptoms, which include mild cramping, nausea, lower back pain, breast heaviness (no soreness), and some moodiness. I had pinkish-brown spotting for about 3 days, and it was very light. I discharge 2 to 3 dime-sized spots per day.

As I said, my last period started Aug. 11. My cycle was 28 days on birth control, and my first cycle off (my last cycle) lasted 32 days. My husband and I had sex on Aug 23 and 25. I noticed the spotting on Aug 29, and my other symptoms developed shortly after. They are not constant. My nausea comes and goes, and eating seems to have no effect on it. I have experienced some degree of nauseousness every day since the 29th though.

I am new to cycle charting and observing mucus and BBT. I admit I am not good at it at all. I am pretty sure I am not to the point where I have missed a period. I plan on waiting a week or so, and if it's not here I will test then. My gut sometimes tells me I'm pregnant, and other times it says it's stressed. My grandfather, whom I was very close to, passed away on Aug. 15 and I've been very upset since then. I think my body may be reacting to the stress of that situation, by I'm not entirely convinced. Anyone have any thoughts?

I had my last period on Aug 20th. I have a normal 28 day cycle. My hubby and I had sex on Sept. 3, which is about 14 days before my next period should start, and the next night I bled a light pink with a bit of mucus. I bled very lightly through the next day, with one more bit of mucus, and then it stopped. We have had no luck getting pregnant - can I be pregnant, or is it just middle of the month bleeding?

Well, I am also going through the same thing. I have took a hpt and I have went to the doctor and both confirmed I was pregnant. I began to have real bad cramps and light spotting so I proceeded to go back to the doctor. The doctor told me that it was implantation, but the bleeding has begun to get heavier like a period and I have also had nagging in the bottom of my abdomin not cramps, but a funny feeling. I don't know if am pregnant or miscarring... Please help.

My LMP was aug 8th. I had sex on the 24th which happened to be the week I was ovulating. I was supposed to start next period on 4th of September but I didn't get it until the 9th(didnt seem like a period). My usual period is light to heavy to light. This time it was light the whole time and dark red then on Sunday it was pink. Should I still take a pregnancy test or not?

My cycle is pretty regular. However, I had been spotting a brown color lightly. I went to the doctor on Aug 9th. He did blood work and I was not pregnant. The spotting continued for 14 days. I went back to the doctor on Aug 31st. THe doc did more blood work that Wed and on Thurs I wiped to find dark red blood with minor clotting. It never happened again. On Friday I went back and found out the blood work came back positive for pregnancy. My HCG levels were around 140 which put me at about 5 weeks pregnant. They did more blood work Friday to make sure the pregnancy was progressing due to the spotting and bleeding. I am being told my spotting was implantation bleeding and the small clotting that last one wipe was the lining of the uterus. I was told the baby sometimes makes the lining of the uterus shed. I will find out Monday if the pregnancy has progressed. I am very tired and extremely cranky but that is my only symptoms. I am a prime example of the implantation bleeding. My went from dark spotting for 14 days to red with some clotting after I wiped. Since that red scare there has been no spotting at all. I hope to find out Monday the baby is fine. I am/was definitely pregnant. They did blood work and they know that much for sure.

My period has always been pretty irregular myself, but usually my cycle is about 38 days. The first day of my last period was 8/20.. which means my next period is due on 9/26 and ovulation is 9/12. My boyfriend and I had intercourse on the 11 and the 14th.. and starting on the 16, I had a light brownish spotting. I thought it might be implantation bleeding, but from what I have been reading, it's supposed to last for only a day or two. I have been spotting for 4 days now. Does anyone know if this might be implantation bleeding? I have no other signs of pregnancy at the moment and I think it's too early to do a home pregnancy test. How long do your implantation bleeding lasts (for those of you who have had it)? Please help! I am really anxious to find out!

Well, I should have started my period on the 16th of September. I cramped the day before, and now for about 5 days, but with no sign of starting until this morning. I cramped really bad, then had a small gush of brownish fluid, and that's all. Usually, my periods last 8-10 days, with really heavy bleeding the first 5 days... I haven't ever experienced this before, and I just wonder if I could possibly be pregnant. We did have sex around the time that I think I could have gotten pregnant, we have just had a really hard time actually getting pregnant. I am scared to death to even try a pregnancy test for fear that it is truly negative, but I am about to worry myself to death about it. Anyone who has been pregnant think this sounds familiar or that maybe I am pregnant. My breasts have also been getting really dark, with a darker color around the edge with little bumps. I have been a little queezy for about 2 weeks also. I probably just need to bite the bullet and buy a test! :D Any ideas?

I'm in a similar situation. My husband and i were both sure that i was pregnant. I was exhausted, constantly starving and my breasts were becoming increasingly sore. then this morning i started with cramping that eventually went away after a few hours and some bleeding. I also have a slight migraine. I wouldn't call it "spotting" but its alot lighter than my normal period. I wasn't sure what to think, so i have called and left a message with my doctor because if i'm preg. then i have to be careful about what i take for the headache. Well anyway. i'll wait for the doctor to call back and take a test tomorrow or the next day. Hopefully it is positive. :)

Well, I am going through similar things than all of you. I have irregular periods. Meaning I never have them when I am supposed to. When I have them they are very heavy I have bad cramping and they last about 5 days. Well, September I did not have a period so I took a pregnancy test. It was negative right away. Then a few days later around the first of October I noticed a brownish, light pink small spot on the toilet paper. I thought my period was starting so I put on a pad. Nothing but one or two very tiny light brown spots on pad for 2 days. Today no spots, nothing for the first half of the day. Now there is small amounts of dark red blood on toilet paper. Nothing on pad yet. Can implantation bleeding be dark like a period? I had implantation bleeding with first son but not second and I don't remember it so well it was 6 years ago. I don't know if I should wait it out or take another test. If so when should I do it? Thanks

I have a similar situation. I am 4 days late past my period and I thought was pregnant. I have one little girl already who is 5 and I've also had 2 miscarrages earlier this year. This morning around 10 am I started bleeding. It was brownish at first and is now more red and seems clotty. It's not heavy bleeding; it seems that there's blood when I wipe but there is hardly any blood on the pad I'm wearing. I am slightly crampy, not bad, but cramping never happens during my period. I usually never notice that my period is there. There is no way this is my regular period because it's lighter than my normal period. My breasts don't hurt, but at times I would feel a "tingling" sensation and the nips are dark and bumpy. I've taken 2 pregnancy test and they came out negative. Can anyone help me? I'm really nervous this is another miscarrage...

Hi,
I am new to this site. I was searching for information about implantation bleeding and found this. All of the information is helpful but I still am unsure whether I am having implantation bleeding or just had my period. I had my last period on Sep 8th I think. I usually get it on wed and this was thurs so it was pretty normal. Then sometime around sept 26 to 28 I started having spotting and discharge. It was first just pink then brown. I used a tampon and it appeared saturated but brown after removal. It was generally when I whiped and I was having cramping. It lasted a while for me, just recently stopping on around oct 3rd or 4th. I was due for my period on wed the 5th and nothing. I am not sure if I just got an early period or what. The thing is, that I am on birth control, a 28 day one that has low levels of hormones and I have missed 2 pills once and 1 pill another time. I am not sure if I would call this break through bleeding, implantation or just an early period from the missed pills. I could take a test but I just feel like I'm being overly paranoid. Anyone agree?
Thanks

First, when in doubt - Always see your doctor.
Second, if you take a test, it could be negative depending on your hormone levels. And if you had uprotected intercourse, then you should wonder what's going on, and not just about pregnancy, but other risks as well.
If you are not intuned to your cycles, the first site is a good place to start...

These make good reading. Good Luck.

Hi all,
About 2 years ago I experienced the very same symptoms. I have very light bleeding about 1 week before by period was due that only lasted a couple of days. I put it down to nothing as I've always been a little bit irregular. However about 2 1/2 weeks later I started to experience bad cramping. I started getting worried at this stage but as I was moving house I ignored it. The pain gradually got worse to the extent of it being excruciating. Then it was followed by very heavy bleeding, heavier than any period I've ever had. This bleeding went on for about 1 1/2 weeks before I consulted a doctor who after giving me an internal advised me that I'd just had a miscarriage. My advise to you all out there is, if you think you may be pregnant and you are experiencing the same symptoms as I was at the start (implantation bleeding), go and see a doctor, its better in the long run. :)

Hi. Welcome to the forum. This depends if you are due to your next period, and if it does not show, the do an EPT, but when in doubt - Always see your doctor.

First, when in doubt - Always see your doctor.

Second, you might be pregnant and a little spotting is normal for most of us. Take a EPT or HPT, even though they might be negative does not mean your not. To be certain, don't forget to see your doctor - always!

YES, you can have light bleeding and be pregnant! Here is my story:) My last period was March 12, usually I have a 35 day cycle but it has gone up to 52 days. On April 15 ( 35 day cycle) I did a pregnancy test..it was negative. On April 18 I took another urine pregnancy test..negative. On the 25 I took a blood test..POSITIVE! On the 27 I got my hcg levels checked and I was already at 3400 mIU/ml. ( 5 weeks pregnant??) My urine tests were for 20 mIU and for me they didnt work. So yes, if you have very light bleeding, dull cramps and a high cervix that doesnt drop...you can be pregnant!! I felt like my period was going to come but it never did. I suggest getting a pregnancy blood test done, I dont trust the urine tests very much. So far I zero symptoms..not tired, boobs are not sore and I dont feel sick at all. My cervix is high and feels bigger and soft..puffy like. Hope that helps, good luck to you all! hey I got a question what does a high cervix mean? Email me please thanks [email protected]

Well, I had had a m/c Jan. 2005, and my period was a little off for a few months. Then became regular for the past 4-5 months. I started my period on sept 12. Which lasted about 5 days (which is normal for me) then had lots of unprotected sex since, almost everyday. My period was late(unusually late) which is strange to me because I'm like clockwork, I feel tired a lot I have to nap all the time, which is also strange because I usually have lots of energy, I took 3 pg tests all came back negative. Then last night I had some brown discharge accompanied by mild cramps, and sore boobs, this morning I got what seems like my period but the blood is very dark almost black, but it isn't flowing like my regular period. I work at a daycare with babies, and they seem extra clingy with me (odd because they never used to be) to the point if I put them down they begin to cry, but as long as they are with me they are fine. I had this before when I was pregnant the children just seem to sense it, especially babies. I'm also a little nauseous, I really feel pregnant. Is it all I'm my head or am I pregnant??

Hi I got my last period on Sep 29 and I know that I ovulated on the 12 of this month, and we did have intercourse around that time. On its only been 7 days after my ovulation and I had light spotting just once. What do you think? Could it be implantation or just bleeding. Thanks

You should not have dark discharge, as any discharge other than clear or creamy white is an indication of a possible infection. You really need to see your doctor as soon as possible as your dark bleeding is not normal either. I am not sure you are 'still' pregnant, but those tests are never a sure thing, only a blood test from the doc is best. Your hormones might be going through changes, but it does sound to me as if you might have lost another one, sorry. But please don't take my word for it, as nobody can examine you through the net, and if you are not having much pain, there might still be a chance with medications. I can only repeat, see the doc. For future assistance and reassurance, you can check the following sites which are very informative - wish they had such when I was anxious and worried..

http://www.babyfit.com (http://www.babyfit.com/) **This one is free to join and has it's own forum. Also covers other questions you might have, diet, exercise, medication and clinical procedures. etc.

http://www.mayoclinic.com (http://www.mayoclinic.com/)

http://www.marchofdimes.com/pnhec/159_516.asp

All the above sites are very interesting, but they do not replace the doctor's visit. Good luck to you dear and hope everything is OK. Keep us posted.

From now on, can you place this in the other thread called 'are you pregnant...' because this one is getting so large that it's hard to keep up with who is who here. You can also send me a Private Message if necessary.

My last period was Oct 3rd and I have very irregular periods, never shorter than a 35 day cycle. However, Monday and Tuesday ( 24th and 25th) I had VERY light spotting, brown and pink with only a few drops of red blood and only when I wiped. I know that it could be implantation bleeding. I have had one miscarriage before. I didn't think I ovulated but I guess I could have. I am very excited we might be pregnant. I just wanted to a place to share. I will do a hpt in a week or so and see what it says. I really hope I'm pregnant! :)

Similar thing happening to me right now. I had my last period on September 30. I usually don't have a period but every two months or so (usually about a 50 day cycle). I started bleeding faint pink on Saturday, October 21. On Sunday, I woke up to a tiny amount of dark brown blood and I have continued spotting all week... but is has been VERY LIGHT and is definitely not a period because no cramps, etc. Not really sure what to think because this has never happened to me before. My husband and I are not trying for a baby, but it would never be bad news for us to receive. I am scheduled to go to the doctor on Monday, October 31st.

Any opinions? I have looked at so many websites and I keep reading different information everywhere. I have read a lot of articles that claim that implantation bleeding doesn't really occur. Has anyone on this site ever experienced it for sure?

Wow, yeah, sounds like the same thing. Let me know what the doctor says! I do know people who have definitely experienced implantation bleeding so it's a real thing. And everything I read says the bleeding is pink and brown and light and not like a period. That is exactly what happened for me, and it sounds like you too! :D

Since you've had a few unlucky breaks, try and give your body and soul time to heal, wait a few months, and try not to think about it so hard. Keep yourself busy with other things, take a lot of vitamis and minerals, and generally relax. You need some time to recover and this is important for you in the future. The body and the mind work together and both need time to heal. Good Luck to you, dear, and please don't drive yourself crazy. It will happen in time.

You could be going through changes, and stress about wanting to get PG again can prevent this from happening also. Maybe you and your hubby need a 'vacation' for a few days, different surroundings, romantic dinner, etc. But reassurance from a doctor that both of you are still healthy and everything else is OK will take a little stress off both of your minds. Don't give up, and don't fret so much, until you know the real deal - relax a bit and maybe it just might happen. Good Luck.

Glad you had a better day today. I know today's financial situations sometimes make it impossible to go somewhere, but if you have a good friend or neighbor, maybe you could 'trade places' and have them watch the kids too, then get some candles and favorite music, and take it from there. Anything is possible and I wish you good luck.

Like I said before, you could even offer to trade places with a relative or friend for one night and bring out those candles and a nice dinner. Have you tried making sushi if you like it? Hi!
Well, I'm not sure what's going on. I started a new brand of BC pills a couple of weeks ago. My cycle (when I'm not on BC) seems to be around 25 days. I started on the 13th, and I figured I was ovulating on the 21st - 24th. Just yesterday, I got some light spotting and was a little cramping and bloated. I know cramping could be associated with implantaion, but what about being bloated? Could it just be due to the new pills or could I be pregnant? What do you think? Thanks!! :)

NancyHi Nancy. A change in BC pills could well cause these side-effects. But if you had 'unprotected intercourse' during this time, it might be another symptom. Wait until you are due for your next period, and if it does not show, take a HPT or EPT, even though they are not 100 percent accurate sometimes. The most important thing to do when in doubt is to see the doctor. Please get back with us and keep us posted. Good Luck, and Happy Halloween!

Grettings All!

I am new to this forum, as well as trying to conceive. Here's my story, tell me if I am making too much out of this or may I possibly be pregnant.
I had my last period from October 12th to 19th. I maybe a day off, but this is pretty close. My husband and I were going to start tracking my ovulation, starting in November, I am not sure when I usually ovulate. We had sex Sat. the 22nd (first time without protection). 4 days later I had some mild cramping and had some pink blood when I wiped it lasted only one day. The following Sat, I had severe nausea, and could smell anything and everything a mile away. The whole week I just didn't feel right( tired, crampy, mild breast tenderness, and slight nausea. I still feel this way but I'm having some trouble sleeping ( can't get comfy my back is starrting to bother me) I keep trying to tell myself its just in my head, but then I feel worse. My bleeding started again today (light pink and clear). Isn't it to early for me to have symptoms if I am pregnant. I would only be 9 days pregnant, it doesn't make much sense. Im not even sure when I ovulate either.. I just know I feel strange, and its more than mental. Im not supposed to start my next period for another 12-15 days (again I never really kept track of this. ( I will from now on.) So anyway am I being mental or can I be pregnant? Thanks and God Bless :)

Thanks and God Bless :) Since this thread is getting so large, it's hard to tell who's who anymore, I suggest you find the new thread I started or begin one of your own. But until then, I will convey the first rule for any of us on the forum that are not doctors: IF ANY DOUBT -SEE YOUR DOCTOR! This should always be remembered.

Next, try this site and another which I will add further down. We are all different and if you are no longer having any severe cramping or bleeding, there might be a chance, so check the symptoms listed on the link below:

http://www.americanpregnancy.org/gettingpregnant/earlypregnancysymptoms.html

This next one is a site that has a forum also, you can join it for free and it is a forum for OB/GYN issues mainly - you can communitacte with others that have the same hopes, fears, anxieties as you.
What's important here is that you get reassurance:

http://www.babyfit.com (http://www.babyfit.com/)

Also covers other questions you might have, diet, exercise, medication and clinical procedures. etc.

I hope you'll take advantage of our help and also those of the links above. Wish you a lot of luck - and please don't stress yourself out, see your doc first before you let that happen. P.S. keep us posted.

I kind of feel silly asking this question since I already have 4 kids but here it goes, My last period was October 9, 2005 my most fertile time was the 24th and 25th in which I did have sex with my husband with out protection, on the 23rd, 25th (for sure dates) and a couple time before and just the other night. (sunday 30th) I woke this mourning with the urge to go potty quite a bit and when I do it feels like when I was in labor with my other kids, and I am having a very light pink bleeding mixed with some tissue. Could this be implantation bleeding? I know I had implantation bleeding with my daughter but don't remember what it looked like or felt like. I've also have had two miscarriages, so Im kind of concerned to what I am dealing with here any help or advice would be appericated. FYI today is nov 1st excately 7 days from the 25th my most fertile day.

Like you said yourself, you've been there several times and also have had miscarriages, so you would probably suggest to someone else asking the same question - to see the doctor! This is my first suggestion to you, as it's better to be safe than sorry and worried. The above link is helpful as well as several others of interest which I will post on this thread in time. But for now, and your personal reassurance, please do the doctor's visit first. If you cannot for some reason see a doctor right now, check out this online clinician in the U.K - this will at least get you a doctor's opinion of what you should do for further reassurance. Do you sometimes get those kind of cramps when constipated and might that be the cause of the current pain? A little spotting is normal, my mother even had what she claimed her period all through her pregnancy with me, so we differ each time. I wish you the best and good luck.

www.askdramy.com (http://www.askdramy.com/) The U.K. online doctor.you can post on a forum, or 'ask the Dr. Amy' with a click. The FAQ Tab on the homepage is also a good place to click and has a lot of good subject matter. P.S. Mose of the articles are printable in PDF format.

OK, I've been reading this thread and caqn totally relate. Any advice would be great (and yes, if nothing happens by Friday, I will go and see the doctor!). My last period started on 4th Oct, and according to the ovulation tests I took, I ovulated on around 19th Oct. Since then I have been nauseous, headachey, backachey, crampy, VERY tired, dizzy and have had a very odd feeling in my stomach that I can't explain. I've been needing the loo loads more and keep waking up in the night. My BBT has remained high. All sounds promising... but. Did test on 3rd Nov, and it was negative, did another on 6th Nov and negative. Did one again this morning (decided to try different make) and still negative, but it's now day 35 (much longer than normal) and no period, and BBT still raised. Is it just me being wishful, or could I be pregnant? Have only been trying since August, so no real experience to draw from, just been reading loads of these forums and every book I can get my hands on!
Thanks,

I called my doctors office back and would not take its normal for an answer!!!! Question though does anyone know if having a UTI will stop my period from coming?? I'm techincally three days late now and wondering if my sheldule got messed up or if the stork dropped by for a visit??

:) Angel_eyesCheck this link it explains UTIs and more. I hope you had the chance to check the links on post 114 here also. Antibiotics can have different side-effects and UTI's can cause a lot of damage, so please make sure it's all cleared up. I had one that came back several times and I had to try several antibiotics - now one of my kidneys is not functioning as it should. So always take your body serious.

Normally my period is 34-35 days apart. This month however it was only 26. Usually I have lots of cramping, and get sick to my stomach, but this period had none of the same effects. It was lighter then usual, and seemed to be more liquidy, like mixed with a lot of cervical fluid. It lasted for 8 days. It was gone for about 4 days, then I had light brownish discharge that lasted a couple of hours.I have also been having mild cramps. What does this mean? Is it normal?

I have also had a continued temp of around 99 degrees. give or take. The main issue here is that you forgot to tell us if you had unprotected intercourse at any time where you were vulnerable.. Also, how old are you? When in doubt, see your doctor. Until you get your appointment, please check out the following sites and get educated a bit, it might relieve your anxiety. They also explain about menstrual and spotting problems. Good Luck.

Sorry, this is the first time I have ever asked for advise online, and I was kind of nervous. I have had unprotected sex a lot this month with my husband.Including during my period, and the day before it started. I do not know when I ovulate, esp since my period was so off this time. I am 21 and I have a 14 month old baby, so I feel embaressed that I don't understand what's going on. I'm just very confused, I've never had one like this before.

I posted this yesterday, but don't see it up today.

Hi... this is my first time posting on here. I have a 2 year old, we had to go to a fertility clinic to conceive (it was on my end for the problems). But everything got straightened out (surgery). Now we are trying again and it is just so different without help. My ovulation was between the 3rd and 7th of this month. Yes, we had intercourse during that time. When I went to the restroom today and wiped, there is a little bit of light pink on it. I am due for AF next week. What do you all think this could be?

Do you think that perhaps I could be pregnant again? I was thinking that perhaps I had gotten pregnant during my period and the brownish discharge later was implantaion? My aunt got pregnant during her period, and her mom bled throughout her last pregnancy like clock work, just like her normal period. So I know anything can happen. My temp has stayed at a constant 99 degrees. Do you think that it is a possibility? Or am I looking into it too much.

Hi...
I was browsing through topics and I found you guys. I totally understand what you are going through right now. I, too, ovulated between the 3rd and 7th. Just yesterday I started getting a light pink discharge with a little brown in it. That is very unusual for me and today(18th) I had a little more. I have already taken about 7 pregnancy tests and they have all been negative. I am distraught over this. My guess is that I'm probably not pregnant because with my other two children I tested positive about a week before my expected period and had no bleeding at all. I know that the waiting is the hardest part about this, but just try. That's all you can do right now. I'm with you... I'm playing the waiting game, too. But soon enough you will know, even if it means going to the doctor for a blood test. Good luck to you. I'd like to hear how it turns out.

Dear, it's kind of hard to make a diagnosis and/or place your hopes up through the internet. Since you did get help in conceiving, you just might have implantion bleeding, so check out the information in the sites I already posted, and check the 'first trimester' information there. Your chances sound good and I am crossing my fingers for you, more than that, it's up to you and your health, and if you are religious, then include God in this.
Another site from the Mayo clinic about implantation bleeding is:

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/bleeding-during-pregnancy/PR00087
I'd also get a test done at the doctor's.

At any rate, keep us posted, and welcome.. I was five months along and the blood test was even negative, so it depends on each one of us as we are different. I did not go to the doctor on purpose, as I was not supposed to get pregnant due to a heart condition, now I have a healthy 29 year old daughter who I'm very proud of.
P.S. you can start helping yourself by not smoking, drinking, and taking supplemental vitamins just in case... - I'm not implying that you drink or smoke, just a suggestion if you do a little bit...

Please stop stressing yourself out, it's not good for you or the baby if you are.. read a good book, watch a comedy, and think positive, positive, positive - about other things in life also. Good Luck.
If you would have read some about the first trimester, you'd know that a little spotting is not dangerous, so please calm down. I know it's easier said than done.. but try.

In the mean time, I would suggest to everyone that they get " what to expect when you are expecting" and " your pregnancy week by week" These are great books to read, even if you are not yet pregnant. They giev you some insight on pre-pregnancy, and you will be able to be read up on everything for when you do get pregnant. That way everything won't come to you as such a surprise, and you'll have a place to go for every day questions. They are awsome books, timeless advice for all your pregnancies, and also make great presents for friends that have just found out they are expecting. Good luck

I just need advice! PLEASE!
Hubby and I are Trying to conceive and I had my period on 10/24, I have a 29 day cycle, and we had sex on 11/4 and 11/11 on 11/17 I started spotting, only when I wiped, usually a brown or pink color, that lasted 3.5 days then on the 20th nothing, took a HPT and negative, got what I though was my period on the 22nd but it only lasted 1.5 days and was a little lighter than usual, well today, 11/28 I did another HPT and it was negative again.
Prior to the "period" my boobs were sore, and I never get that, but now they aren't anymore but I am REALLY tired and have headaches. Do you think I am or not?

I am in the same boat as it sounds like everyone else is. I have taken several pregnancy test all negative. I have all the symptoms and none of the positive *tests that is* I have to wait for my insurance through work to kick in and then it's a blood test for me. If any of you have found any information let me know and I'll do the same... try the ask jeeves web site *implantation bleeding* I found some interesting info through that. Sounds like were all playing the hurry and wait game... OK I think I can be patient a little longer... maybe. spray80,
I would definitely wait a couple days and take an hpt. If you don't get your period in a week make an appointment with your dr for a blood test. Hpt's can have false negative. I think that I'm going through the same thing you guys are. I have all the symptoms of pregnant even the more obscure metallic taste in my mouth. Just waiting for my insurance through work to kick in and then it's to the dr with me. :o I hope I am I really would like to have a third child.

I would take a hpt. And maybe make a dr appointment. Because you have irregular periods a dr might be able to give you a more difinitive answer than an hpt. Keep us posted and let us know about your experiences. I hope that we can all learn from eachothers experiences. I hope to hear from each other soon.

Being a few days late, can mean many things, stress, depression, trying too hard, etc. But if you have a justified indication, like having unprotected intercourse during the crucial times, then it just might be possible. Also a few spots and discharge are in many cases normal.
First and foremost - please see your doctor for reassurance.
Second, the home pregnancy tests are not always 100 percent certain, only the tests done at the doctors are the surest. You must listen to your body and keep special history and notes of your symptoms, and if you think there is a slight possibility that you are pregnant and smoke or drink, that is the first thing to stop until you are sure. Please eighter see the doctor as soon as you can, or check the following sites that I've posted before and get a little more educated as most of the questions here can be answered by the sites, so do check them.

any guesses on when i should test tho? I'm totally confused on when i should test because of my weird periods this monthsaying you have weird periods does not help much, so please check on the links I posted and see if you follow under any of the symptoms. It would also be nice if you young ladies would tell us how old you were, as age does have a factor in the stages and development of the female reproductive system. Wish you all good luck.

I thought you already knew how old I was, as this is not my first time asking you questions. I am 21. I had my period on the 3 of this month. It lasted 8 days, then I had a four day break before beginning again, at which point it lasted about 5-6 days. Now, I am having these symptoms. I have to pee like every hour, I have headaches every day, I'm exhausted, I always seem to be hungry, and so forth. I was asking you when I should test since I do not know when to expect my next period, because of the timing of this months.

Please do your best to see a doctor, because we are all different and you might have something serious going on that can't be diagnosed through posts on the net - it does sound like a miscarriage that you went through, but it's hard to tell this way, so see your doctor. One thing I do stress is that it's important to listen to the signs of your body and wright them down, then see the doc. I hope everything will work out,and you might be PG now again, you need reassurance and a lot less stress. Best of luck to you and please keep us posted.

I called my doctor about my periods this month, when I was still bleeding. They said since I had just gotten off because 4 months ago, it was still normal, she also said that there was a chance of miscarriage, and if I was worried about it I could take a test and find out. However she said most people miscarry and never even know it, and that is the way I decided to keep it. There would be nothing to do about it anyway, so I would rather not know. I was just wondering which period I should calculate my next period by, and if my symptoms sounded like its possible. No worries, not upset, just tired. Haha.

In this case you would use your last bleeding as a basis for your menstrual calendar. However, a loss is a loss, and you have to see it that way or it will haunt you, no matter how small. Also, there is risk of infection if you did not get a D and C done. Not always, but please watch if you get strange discharges from green to dark brown and odorous, and the onset of unexplained pain and fever, OK? Please keep us posted.

And why should I be upset about something that I had no control over? Many women have gone into depression over such things. I have a family, and I chose not to put their wellbeing and happiness at risk for something I could have done nothing about, if indeed it was a miscariiage.

Hello all! I am 34 and have pretty regular periods, about 28 days on average.
I tend to have some bleeding (brown discharge) every cycle for 1-3 days about 5 days before my actual period begins. Is this normal? My husband and I have been trying for a baby for afew months now and I am worried there may be something wrong with me.
This month I have had the same early bleeding, but it has been very pink in colour as well as brown. Could this mean I might be pregnant? Am due period on Sunday.
Best Wishes to all of you out there!

hi chery
I had this discharge and I am wondering if I aam pregnant. I breast are so tender. I went to the doctor today had a blood test done hoping evevy thing is ok. If the discharge is only light pink, or clear or a little whitish, then it's OK. Whether women are pregnant or not, discharges of any other color are indications of something else to come, so just watch out for those changes and make sure your doctor knows about them. These most times are not emergencies, but yellowish, green, and brown with odors are indications of some types of infections. So let me stress again, please watch for signs of these and other things like cramping, pain when going to the bathroom, and itching - that's when you need to call and tell the doc. Check out the sites I posted on this thread and you'll be able to understand what to watch for and look forward to in good terms too. Good luck, hope everything stays fine for your, and keep us posted.

My two losses were both boys and 5 months along, so I guess it hit me harder and I did need a mourning period. Hello all, after posting about strange bleeding yesterday my period has started in the night! It is 2 days early and heavier/more painful than normal so am wondering if may be an early miscarriage.
Anyway will keep trying!
I think this website is wonderful and will definitely come back and visit in the future!
Best of luck to you all - and congratulations Shellyb! I wish you all the happiness in the world. I do think your ex partner should know about your baby, it is better for the baby to know their father rather than not having one at all, even if things are painful for you right now. Good luck!

Hello all! I am 20 and have been married 1 year. I do not have a period at all unless I am taking my birth control. I got off that in July to start a family with my husband, so I have not have a period since July or August. When I do have a period it is ALWAYS very heavy and it last for 5-8 days, and I always have really bad cramps right before. For the last four days there has been very light red or brownish spotting at the same time every day. This has never happened before and I want to think it's because we are expecting, but I don't know if maybe there is something wrong with me. Can someone help me out.

Maybe you were even a premature birth, and your reproductive organs did not develop fully. Anything is possible, and that's why it's best to consult a physician you trust and write down your family's medical history, and medications you take, all that will help him/her make a more accurate assessment of your situation. With the modern technology today, there is help for you, I'm sure, so don't give up. It might even be as simple as having to take an aspirin a day to thin your blood during this time to lighten the pain. And if you might be pregnant, they usually don't hurt the baby, but again, see your doctor for reassurance. Good Luck. Am enclosing a PDF document for you to read about the absence of menstruation too. See the attachment...

Thanks! I will be going to the Dr. on Monday! I have PCOS, so I know there should be some trouble getting pregnant. But I was hoping that because I'm spotting for the first time ever, it might be a sign that we are going to have a baby. I don't know when I ovulate, but I know that the spotting started about a week or so after the last time my husband and I had sex. From all that I've read on the net. That IS a sign of pregnancy! I really hope so! Thanks again to all!

Things look like they are looking up for most of us. I hope that this trend continues. For those of you that have gotten what you wished for in that little miracle congrats. If you haven't yet, well practice makes perfect... and at least have fun trying. Remember making love isn't sapposed to be clinical. If you don't allow yourself the pleasure that goes along with it then how will you know the pleasure of being pregnant? Relax and let nature take it's course. I had to learn the hard way and still don't know yet... lol... ttyl

I Had The Same Problem. When I Started My Period It Was Really Light At First Then It Got Heavier And Then Light Again N Then Stopped. The Next Month I Had Light Brown Blood (which I Guess Wasn't Considered A Period Because There Was No Red Or Pink Blood). Also If U Take A Home Pregnancy Test And It Comes Out Negative I Would Consider Just Going To Your Doctor And Getting A Blood Test Because I Took 2 Home Pregnancy Tests And They Both Came Out Negative But Then I Took A Blood Test And It Showed Up That I Was Already 2 N A Half Months Pregnant! So Good Luck! :d

 I AM 4 DAYS LATE, SLIGHT PINK SPOTTING FOR ALL 4 DAYS SOMETIMES A LITTLE BROWNISH COLOR, LIGHT CRAMPING 1 DAY ONLY, PREGNANCY TEST SAID NEGATIVE. IS IT TOO EARLY TO TEST, I SPOTTED SOME WITH MY DAUGHTER BUT NOT LIKE THIS. I AM GETTING WORRIED. I WANT TO BE PREGNANT, I KNEW BEFORE I MISSED WITH MY DAUGHTER BUT I AM NOT SURE THIS TIME. PLEASE HELP.- Dear, check some of the links that I posted to others on this thread, they might help reassure you. A little spotting and cramping is not unusual in the first trimester, and even if you've been pregnant before, you can be certain that not every pregnancy is the same, and those home pregnancy tests are not 100 percent sure, so don't stress yourself. I wish you a lot of luck and please don't forget to make an appointment with your doctor, and keep us posted. OK?

hi chery ,
thanks 4 all the wonderful advice u have bin giving I know without u most of us would be lost. I Am so happy for me but a small part of me is so sad, because I am beginning to miss my ex. altough i have what I want I still miss him a lot. My doctor said its normal because He was my one true love .We have been togother forever and now I am all alone. I know time will heal me so I am currrently taking it one day at a time . Thanks again everyone for all the lovely advice and encouragement. God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Dear, if he's not in another town, you still might have a chance to include him in the life of you and the baby, by asking him to maybe participate in the exercises and labor classes in the future, unless you broke in total anger. If you broke in total anger, then, I'm sure you'll find a friend to help you fill the emptiness that you should share with someone at a time like this. A well balanced emotional mother is better for the baby than a sad and stressed one, even if it's just with friends. So think about it, you'll need support no matter what, and in my opinion, you deserve it. Again, good luck, and stay on to keep us posted and also use us as sounding board, it's healthier for you.

The links to the literature and other sites should have included these symptoms in them... they are normal during pregnancy. I had heartburn all the time and the only thing that helped get rid of it was eating chili every day, or pizza with ciane (sp) pepper on them. Everyone told me my baby was going to have a lot of hair - wrong, she was the typical 'georgia peach'. Just in case you missed the links, here are some good ones:

Check out the following sites, they will help you through this a little more to reassure if you are.

Dear, don't give up hope, your hormone values might not be that high yet to tell. I was five months PG and my blood test was negative, so anything is possible. Keep in touch with your doctor though, and don't stop asking questions until you are satisfied. And if you are not this time, the new modern technology should assist the doctor in helping you get the results you want sooner or later. Until then, don't stress yourself out and try to enjoy the holidays. Good luck and keep us posted.

:( Well, I Think I Had A Miscarriage. The Doc Said My Test Were Neg. But Somehow I Didnt Believe It. I Started Cramping And Bleeding Today Severly. Huge Blood Clots. Thats What I Get For Listening To The Doctor Instead Of My Instincts.Dear, I'm sorry about your disappointment. It is good listening to instincts in many issues, and yes, they and you know your body better than a doctor - but they can only work with what they have. If I were you, I'd change clinicians and when you go there, have all of your medical history possible, available on paper for him/her. This will reduce guessing and having to re-tell all that you should. Sit down and write down as much as you remember, as far back as possible, to include surgery, medications, symptoms, etc. This will provide the new doc with a better 'picture' of your physiology and he can take care of you according to this information.
The following site is free to sign onto, and gives you a lot of information to questions that might pop up and if your doctor does not have enough time to explain, you can peruse at your leisure.
Heavy clotting can be caused through many factors and a few are a high clotting factor to not enough fluid intake, even though this time of the year we don't get that thirsty, but the body needs at least to a 1/2 liters of water each day to prevent drying up, and also helps keep skin from going through the 'winter' changes.
http://obgyn.healthcentersonline.com/pregnancybasics/?nl=3

Please by all means stay as relaxed as possible, and take care of your body so that it has a chance to take care of you. To me it sounds like you've taken the doctor's word too often without asking imperative questions - they are not gods. In these times, it's very important for each one of us to know our bodies and listen to the signals they send, so that the doctors take us seriously.

In the site above, check out the signs and symptoms of miscarriage and compare them to what you went through and follow the suggestions of what a patient should do.

I wish you all the best, and hope that your body recovers soon so that you can concentrate on starting a family again. But remember, after a trial like this, there need to be a recovery period. Bless you and all the best.

Happy Holidays!

I did it! I found out that I was pregnant just before Christmas. Bizarrely, it was my husband who persuaded me to do the test. I had stopped checking temp etc as I was convinced that I hadn't ovulated (did the tests for 10 days without a positive). Anyway, I got two positives (different makes) and went straight to the doctor. She confirmed it, and now I'm waiting to meet the midwife! My husband cried when he found out. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope that it works out for the rest of you guys VERY soon. It just goes to show that if you keep on trying, you might just do it! GOOD LUCK!
P.S. I now feel sick a lot

Me too!! Here I am, feeling nausous, almost vomitting, waking up in the morning fighting that, been irritable and then emotional and crying over stuff. My last period was sometime in the end of nov. I am very regular. I was with the guy I'm seeing, about 3weeks ago, (I remember this because next weekend will be almost a month since we have been intimate). So af should have been here around the end of the month sometime, so today I get this light pinkish reddish spotting, that starts very lightly with cramping and then went away and stopped for a few hours and then started up with brown spotting, just like at the very very end of your period when you use a very light pantyliner, the only way I can tell is by wiping when I'm in the bathroom. So now I'm not sure what to think, I don't have money to see a doctor, and I'm not sure when I should test, though I want to make sure I don't have to keep retesting so I don't have to spend a bunch of money. This is too confusing! So could I be pregnant?

Hello-It's been awhile since my last post but we have been busy Trying to conceive! So here is the update. My last AF was around the 8th of Nov. and it is now Jan 3. My cycles are usually irregular so I tried not to get my hopes up again this time. I have tested when I thought I was a week late and they were all negative so I choose to believe the tests this time. Now the past three nights I have waken up feeling extremely nauseaited. I have felt like I was going to start af several times but then the cramps just go away. The past couple days my bbs started getting sore and I have been getting light headed, having headaches, moody and inc. cm. Today I started very very light spotting-only seen on toilet paper mid afternoon and now it has even gotten lighter. Do you think this could be implantation and how long should I wait before I test again? It does sound like it, but please remember the golden rule - when in doubt always see your doctor. Also check some of the sites on the other posts here to get better insight and reassurance. I certainly hope your efforts of Trying to conceive worked. By the way what does AF mean?? We call it LMP, (last menstrual period). At any rate, check the sites and see your doctor, and also keep us posted here on this thread. Good Luck.

Hi, I'm new to this forum...actually I've never even been to any pregnancy forums until I just started to investigate the implantion bleeding.... This is what happend to me.... 11 -12days ago I knew my period was due soon... I woke up and just spotted a tiny amount of pink..goo just enough to make me think...well my period is on its way... then it was gone... the next day the same thing... Just slight pinkish and only a very small amount...then it was gone... after that I was kinda thinking to myself....that was the wierdest thing...I've never seen my period give me a preview then disapear....It usually goes from light straight to heavy...but has never completely disapeared.... I was concerned about it but kind of just passed it off as maybe its just acting wierd...stress and all.... Even though I have been extrememly regular in getting it ever since it started... Well....I of course had been talking about it with my fiance...even when it happend i thought it was strange because it was so little and just pink...not like the usual bloody mess that it can be...(sorry if too vivid) I told my mom about it....as we are very close....she imediately made me take a HPT... that was about 3 days after my last spotting... The test said negative...so I wasn't worried... It was one of those 99.9 % accurate tests...thats what it said anyways.... Then my fiance started to research it online..and found all this information about implantation bleeding... Neither of us had ever heard of it....( I'm really proud of him for researching it)Alot of the information I have read now about it....sounds very similar to what I had happen to me.... I'm just wondering now...If I could have took the HPT too soon.. I know some women do get a negative the first few tests...even though they may be positive... Well...I'm not going to mention it to the rest of the family yet.... I think I will wait a little while longer and try to retest.... I just kind of need to talk about it somewhere....I'm feeling so anxious and just about to burst...not knowing... I'm glad to have found a place where other people have heard of this.

All I know is that I have really put on a LOT of weight, and my jeans are tight in the tummy area. So what should I do? Give it a few more weeks, wait and see what happens next month? Its easier said then done to see a doctor when you have money and insurance, when you don't, your screwed.

I haven't started my new job yet, I start orientation Monday, and tues and have to get a schedule after that, then I have to work 3 months until I get insurance. I have a college education and have had a hard time getting a job. So seeing a doctor right now isn't in my budget.

I did go through the sites, emailed one of the doctors there and haven't heard anything back

With a negative pregnancy test, I'm really not worried about it. I'm going to see what happens next month with my period, I have heard these are signs of menopause. Especially with the weight gain.

With a negative pregnancy test, I'm really not worried about it. I'm going to see what happens next month with my period, I have heard these are signs of menopause. Especially with the weight gain. Dear, you are a little too young to be in the menopausal stage, there could be many other reasons. Here are some statistics and also some articles that might help explain what you are going through if you are not pregnant. But your symptoms could be pregnancy related and I would suggest that you at least 'prepare' yourself with proper nutrition, exercise and caution of what you eat or drink, or even smoke, until you are certain of what your condition is.

Hope these help.

Menopause, sometimes referred to as "the change" or "change of life," occurs when a woman's body no longer releases eggs, and her ovaries substantially reduce production of the hormones estrogen and progesterone. It is marked by the absence of a menstrual period for 12 consecutive months

In most cases, menopause occurs when a woman is between 45 to 55 years old, although for various reasons it can happen much earlier or later. For instance, women who have a hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus) to treat cancer or endometriosis may experience premature menopause, called surgical or induced menopause.

Menopause often triggers symptoms that may cause women discomfort, including hot flashes, moods swings, vaginal dryness, night sweats, heart palpitations, abnormal vaginal bleeding or spotting and osteoporosis.

Perimenopause
The stage before menopause is called perimenopause. Many women have erratic menstrual cycles during this time, which can make the exact date of menopause difficult to pinpoint.

Menopause is often confirmed by a test that detects the level of FSH in a woman's blood. FSH is made in the pituitary gland in the brain and circulates in the blood to stimulate the ovaries to make estrogen and progesterone during a woman's reproductive years. Once the ovaries stop making estrogen and progesterone, the pituitary gland compensates by making more FSH. FSH levels greater than 25 to 40 mIU/ml (milli–international units per millimeter) are a sign of menopause
HRT is the most common form of treatment for menopause. It involves taking synthetic estrogen or a combination of estrogen and synthetic progesterone, known as progestin. Benefits of HRT include reduced hot flashes, relief of vaginal dryness, slowing of bone loss and alleviation of mood swings and depression.

Women with certain health conditions should not take HRT. Conditions of concern include pregnancy, breast or uterine cancer, liver disease and/or a history of heart attack, blood clots or stroke.

Osteoporosis is a disorder in which the bones lose mass and density. It occurs naturally as a part of aging and may especially affect women during and after menopause. This is because a reduction in a woman's estrogen levels deprives her of the hormone's ability to protect against bone loss.

According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, an estimated 44 million Americans – or 55 percent of the population over age 55 – are at risk for osteoporosis. At present, 10 million Americans have been diagnosed with the condition. Of that group, 8 million are women.
According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, half of women and one–quarter of men over age 50 will have an osteoporosis–related fracture during their lifetime. The condition is responsible for over 1.5 million fractures in the United States each year, including approximately 700,000 vertebral fractures, 300,000 hip fractures and 250,000 wrist fractures.

If it's not menopause, check the following - it will explain some other conditions you might have depending on your past history. Unfortunately, without a doctor - all this is just guesswork and you need the reassurance - maybe see a free clinic or a nurse. Hope things work out for you. Good luck, and please keep us posted.
P.S. Read the PDF attachment on Hot Flashes - I guess the Menopause Document was too large, so I'll work on it and send that soon too.

The Summary on Menopause was too large to send as a PDF document, however, here's the site and it's in printable view, so you can print it out yourself, or just read it.

I'm sure you are not in that stage yet, and hope your condition gets better soon.

Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing.

Thank you for your help! I will be careful until I found out what happens next month. I will also test again next month if I need too, I did get 2 tests, clear blue easy with the ones that state not pregnant or pregnant, it was on sale for $13 at walgreens, I liked the certainty of it!

Hi Siinnderalla and all ladies out there trying to conceive. I am new to this forum as weel and I was looking real hard before I found it. Sooooo relived to hear that there are so many women with similar questions and concerns. As for myself and my significant other. We have been trying to procreate for 11 months now, where as I had a misscarrage last April. Since then we have been trying religiously every month. So this month my period is due the 12th or 14th of this month, Jan. Not sure by a couple of days, being that I spotted with intercource last month two days before my period was due. By the way... Can any one give me feed back on that? Does spotting with intercource count if it goes away right after and comes back as a period days later? What day do you count as day 1 of your cycle?
So back to this month... I've been having slight faint pinkish discharge. Not visible unless I vipe real deep. Having all the other symptomes of pregnancy. Cramps, headace, bloating and food cravings... Any one?
Lola. :)
