No, because at the moment I am technologically challenged, But a hot red new porche would help speed things up. Don't make me beg! Please, oh, Please, pretty, pretty, PLEASE,PLEASE??

Come on Tal, join us in the member pictures discussion thread.. Go on.. I know you want to :)

Well Good morning from Malta...
Another rather warm sunny day... 25deg to be precise (not rubbing it in lofl).. sorry :o

I hear someone bought a porshe, I want a porshe, but its pointless having a porsche in Malta, the roads can't support it NO long motor ways like you have there. :(

Both hubby and I couldn't sleep last night, we were both up at 2 am...
Besides the cats were in play mode, running up and down the hall.. driving me nuts...

Might get an espresso.. anyone want 1?

Sentra

I'll take an espresso, with a few of those really high calorie blueberry muffins! Meh, I was in bed around 10pm, but I shot up out of a dead sleep thinking my alarm went off. When I looked at the clock, it said 2:12am.

O_O Holidays are coming and so are the shopping crowds, subconcious thing, got to be!

Sleep--Did someone say sleep? I didn't get any--trying to make it on 4 hour of it and I have been at work for 1/2 hour. Going to be a long day. Slight headache.

18 yr old step son argument- must be the age?

I want to sleep--in peace and quiet.

Tuscany
Nov 21, 2006, 07:51 AM
Neither is the end of today's work day. I am so excited to have a few days off. When cooking a turkey don't you cook it 1 hour for every 4 pounds

Sentra
Nov 21, 2006, 07:54 AM
Yes, I am pretty sure that's the way to do it, and the same thing goes for a turkey breast, too.

Sentra
Nov 22, 2006, 04:52 AM
You can cook?

Oh, hey everyone, I have a few quotes of inspiration:

A chinese prison is safer than a bowl of spinach.

Be gentle to the worm that creates silk.

Ladies, you won't have a chance if he says, "Sorry I'm late, wife borrowed the car."

Made those up last night... was semi-bored... so is anyone defrosting their bird at this very moment?:)

LUNAGODDESS
Nov 22, 2006, 08:38 AM
Glad you reminded me... I need to take this bird out freezer... or should I cook a large hen... I haven't had a hen lately... to think about it... I was watching the food channel for some ideas... This Paula cooked this sweet potatoes and coconut and marshmallow entrée... I want to try it... and some chefs were deboning the bird and covering them with stomach lining... that sound good too... and I saw this salad with cornbread and tomatoes salad and cucumber salad... love to experiment with food... after... I write this I am going to the kitchen and get me a large coffee mug... and some dairy creamer and organic sugar in it... excuse me... I need to say raw sugar...

Yay! Awesome wizz!

Hey, if anyone wants to know how tempted I am to stuff a cornish hen inside of our bird just to scare my in-laws... Rofl. They love me, because of my sick humor. I know it.:p

Meh, its almost 8am... slept in by accident. The breakfast sausage (for this morning) and our turkey (for a few hours after that) are still frozen. The car won't start, and because I forgot to buy the 'last minutes' before midnight there will be no greenbean casserole (which I happen to love) or mashed potatoes. The ONE day of the year where important cooking slips my mind.

I'm going back to RickJ's thread, think I might need some of that wine everyone is talking about.:D

J_9 I just saw your location and that was pretty funny, I chuckled. I have had my times like that before, there have been a few books were I needed to lock myself in my own room so I would actually read them. The funny thing about me is the fact that about 98% of all books I read I end up liking, but before I attempt reading them I feel it is a gigantic burden, however the feeling you get when you finish a book is definitely unique. Also, found out today... jabot is a word. Was playing scrabble and someone pulled that out on me, and I was like yeah right. So was everyone else, and I am still convinced my mom had NO idea what she was talking about, but she looked it up and what do you know... it's a word. It's one in the morning right now and saw "American History X" for the first time tonight, and what a great movie that is, I am still chewing it over in my mind. Anyway I hope everyone's turkey day went well, and see you tomorrow... today.

Good morning everyone, is everyone still full from last week? I just watched V for Vendetta last night... it's now on my 'Most Watched' list. Good Morning group, Hope everyone had a good holiday and a great weekend. I wore my grandkids out and had 'em crying to stay longer. So if I don't move from this seat all day I hope you understand. 80 degrees for the next two days and then the cold front comes in 25 degrees is the overnight low for the end of the week. I had a good thanksgiving, had a lot of food, really scrumptous, just basically sat back and chilled. I liked to think I shut down my brain for a couple days and that was much needed. Also won around 100 bucks over the weekend, for some local tourney's, nice pocket change lol. Sadly, today was a Monday and it was my early day, no me gusta. One good thing was that my photo teacher said I had really made a huge improvement on my latest prints and said that there wasn't much he could tell me to do different. And although I am not big into photo, I don't own a camera, and I am definitely not the shining star in that class. But I do work hard it, and that is uncharacteristic of me as school comes kind of easy to me. But I put in the time in the dark room and it's nice to see your fruits of labor flourish. Anyway, I hope everyone's weekend went well and that your not suffering from the Monday blues.

Also, only 27 days of Christmas Shopping left...

Okay, Houston, we have a problem here.

Anyone ever put their Christmas tree up while listening to the Macarana? OMG, Teens!!

wizzkid89
Dec 2, 2006, 08:19 PM
I have been sending Houston problems all DAY! I have most likely racked up a nasty phone bill with the amount of computer talking I have been doing. I have called apple at least 8 times, dell, linksys, and best buy about 5 times. I had a new hardrive put in, mainly because this was a special computer(back up and vintage) and I didn't want to screw it up. And at first the computer wouldn't recognize the hard drive, so then I partioned it, that worked, then it won't recognize the internet. So I restarted it, after like the third restart it worked for a second. But no more. Either way this is becoming a huge hassel and I am literally about to go off on the deep end. Right now I am on the phone holding for geek squad, I hate using them but right now I am in a pickle, I have been holding on for like 5 minutes, and I am growing impatient. I seriously think I am going to curl up into a ball and cry...

J_9
Dec 2, 2006, 08:23 PM

Isn't it funny to think that you could talk to a person on here and just pass them on a sidewalk in public? We should start a amhd annual meet your advisor thing or something. It would be fun.

I'm a night owl... but I do live on the west coast lol

Myth

Nobody said that you had to live near us to meet with other members. We could do it by different regions... We could even break it up by time zones or something.

wizzkid89
Jan 26, 2007, 04:13 PM
Yeah I usually am a night owl, I stay up regularly to like 1 a.m. or to a.m. which is weird because I love sleep, but I never get enough when I stay up that late. I should really work on that...

Sentra
Jan 26, 2007, 04:16 PM
I only sleep a few hours a night, which might be why I am able to surf so much :)

Synnen
Jan 26, 2007, 04:27 PM
I'd be willing to meet other people... but I'm kind of a newbie here, so I don't want to jump in and make anyone uncomfortable with the idea, either.

Surfings cool, we have our fair share of surfers out here in cali... I have never done it, mainly due to water sports aren't my thing, I like snowboarding and what not...

Did you ever see point break?

Well, tomorrow is the big day.

DA BEARS vs DA Ponies, opps the Colts.

So, who is up for wings, skins and chili?

wizzkid89
Feb 3, 2007, 03:54 PM
I am... and not to upset you bears fan but I have put my bet down on the Colts. Hey, Rex did well but I don't ride dark horses on Super bowl Sunday. I could be wrong though, but I like my chances. Also, tomorrow a friend of mine is going to attempt to eat 100 chicken Mcnuggets in an hour and fifteen minutes. I will inform you if he makes it, or if a trip to the hospital was necessary. Just out of curiosity how many of you think he can make it?

Da Bears lost, oh well, at least they made it that far!!

Test yesterday went okay, was the hardest of the 2 semesters so far.

How many did he eat Wizz? I am guessing 64.

wizzkid89
Feb 6, 2007, 08:07 PM
67.5 to be exact... very close j, but after 67.5 he puked and had a pretty crappy rest of the day. I think he ended up puking around five times total...

Sentra
Feb 7, 2007, 12:48 PM
Meh... good thing he didn't use barbecue sauce.

wizzkid89
Feb 7, 2007, 05:42 PM
Actually lol... he did. He said that was the only way he could get them down. Which I think was a good idea, because if you have ever eaten mcnuggets by themselves they get gross after around 10, so I imagine that they would be unbearable without sauce around like 30.

LMAO.

It is so nice to be back in the Lounge. It has been a while, but a great breath of fresh air!!

WooHoo, party at my place!! I just got into the Who's Who Among Students!!

71 people in my school were chosen and I was one. I contacted the school and it is legit.

I don't know why I was picked though my GPA is not all that great. But I will take it if I can add it to my CV!!

Yes I may be 42, but sometimes I feel 22. The older you are, and the older you feel is the older you get.

So, who as the Kool Aid? I am about to open the pool yet again for another season.

Sorry J_9, I got caught up in trying to answer a question and didn't see you.

I liked Synnen's post, on your "30" post, about the bottle opener. Very true. I had bought a cheapie back in my college days that had a key chain on it. It was a nice handy little doodad. I only lost it about three years ago. Boy, am I sad case. I was just thinking that when I was a real mover and shaker in my younger days, all glammed up for the big city job, managing and running companies, I was still running around with that freakin' thing. No wonder everyone always invited me out for drinks after work!

Here is a story about anxiety in the highest degree!!!

Pretend you have to take a test that your career depends on. You are only given 1 1/2 hours for the test. Your instructor is 20 minutes late. She passes out a test with over 200 math problems on it, and there are 9 pages. The problems are in no way shape or form what she has taught.

Now, you must get a minimum of a 75% on your test or you lose your career.

She is 20 minutes late. Did I say that? About 10 minutes before the test is scheduled to end, and after a few people finish and leave the class, the teacher says "I am so sorry I must have made this test too hard. I promise that all of you will pass this test. I will have to make a big curve for you all to pass, but you will pass."

5 minutes later she comes back into class and says "Your favorite nursing instructor has given you as much time as you need to finish this test. Just remember that you all will pass. I promise."

5 minutes later she announces that we have only 15 minutes left. What happened to "all the time we need?"

After 90% of the class finishes and leaves under the assumption that there will be a "big curve" and that we "all will pass," she announces to the remaining 10% that "since you have had extra time there will be no need to curve the grade."

Now understand that she gave us a study guide, told us what reviews in the book to do. "The test will be just like the cumulative review on page such and such." The test was NOTHING like that!!!

100% of the class feels as though they failed the test. I have to wait 24 hours to find out if I have been kicked out of nursing school because of this one wacko teacher.

This will be the longest 24 hours of my life. I already have high blood pressure, I don't need this load of crap!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to unload, just had to get it out.

Now this!!!??? What happened to The Lounge??????

Oh, I need to go back to bed and start all over.

After my original schooling, I hit upon lots of teacher like this, wanted to smack them right in the head with a head of cabbage, (less fattening), they generally don't care, their working on their doctrates or whatever... Don't despair, if you've gotten this far you can continue. In the one class I took, (over and over till I was dizzy. 3 times) I finally ended up knowing more than the next professor!! Personally I doubt if you failed, the people that have ulcers and IBS in college, are generally the ones that pass, truly I am one. and I know that you are equally as dedicated in your field!!
If baldness could have occurred, I'd be shinining right now. When you know that you are true to your field and you've studied till your blind, I doubt that you'll fail, especially you!! Sorry I have too much faith in you!! Don't sweat the small s----! We love what we do and therefore I believe even though we think we're going to fail we,don't!! Relax, have some fun with the kids, take a low fat, low sugar, chill pill, it'll be all right!! Trish!! :D

J9---Don't want to hear about ole age from young wippersnappers like you, My kids gave me a perfect Mug a couple of years ago (months... ) it's betty boop (my idol), it says, while she's posing ever so sexily, Honey, 50's not old... And although I'll never tell anyone my real age, it's cool, I don't act old, feel old, or look old, life has been good. And Oil of Olay is a miracle drug!! lol. I raised 4 kids alone, ate good food, exercised, chasing after the hooligans, and worked hard. And when I look at some women my age, I say thank you God! I may have been without some stuff, but, I have perfect health, a good body, not on any kind of drugs and life is great!! So think ahead what you got to look forward too!! Lots of good stuff, believe me... :D
