The wife and I just got back from the lagoon and the air was crisp and exhilarating, we have storks and you have to see them to believe how big they are, WOW. Oh yeah got to make popcorn for the games today and beat those Giants, Chicago Bears!! I love Sunday. If anyone sees Saturday let me know.

OK you guys are killing me here!! I am sitting at my desk WISHING for something to eat! I brought Pop Tarts in the car--my son ate those while I was taking him to school. I am hungry--I guess I will have to go raid the vending machine - yummy. I bet it is all calorie free too.
I am wearing a shirt today that I have had two comments on--both of them from men. What is it with some people that feel they can make fun of your clothes!! I thought I was out of high school... Maybe not. I had one person say it looked like I was back in the 70's and another said I looked like I was in prison. I commented that I was at work so I am in prison. Hee hee
FYI - my shirt is orange, white, yellow, blue and black stripped. It is probably a little more "colorful" than what I usually wear - but it was given to me. Free clothes are always good clothes when you have a 9 year old GROWING son that uses all of your extra cash to keep him clothed, fed, in sports, glasses, braces, need I go on...

I love wine but... it has to be sweet or semi-sweet. I can't do the dry wine. We have a vineyard around here called "James Arthur Vineyard". Best wine I have ever had. I seen on t.v. the other day about a bus tour going around visiting vineyards in Nebraska. I can't believe Nebraska would have that many vineyards. I would love to go on one but afraid I'd drink too much and get a headache.

I think one of the best things about visiting england or Europe in general is the rich history it has. I mean America is so young and unless you go to the East Coast you don't really grasp it's history. Trying living in Nebraska! Not much to look at..! Right now the sun it out and we are all excited about it being in the 50's this weekend! (That is warm for us this time of year). The farmers almanac calls for 3 major snow storms for our area in December! Bbbbrrrr!

I must admit I definitely prefer the summer season. I mean here all we get is Summer and Winter. Exteremly HOT summers and winters do get cold but not cold enough to snow and besides we have NO moutains here. But when it rains it rains... The heavens open, we get a lot of storms, heavy ones too, which I love too.
But in America you must get all the seasons right?

Depends on where you live in the states. But yes most of the US does get 4 seasons, of varying degrees. We range in temperature from -10 below to 90+ degrees Fahrenheit here in NY, but Tal in Texas might not get such a range.

Not many people in Malta are lucky enough to Travel to the US, the flights are so expensive, as we don't have direct flights from here, you would need to get a connecting flight in england or germany...
I can't imagine it. Especially coming from a person like me, living on an island that 17 miles wide and 5 miles long hehehe... madness!

KRS I wish I were where you are. ;)
I live in Nebraska also, it is located smack dab in the middle of the US. Most of Nebraska is flat and our main source of income is farming corn, soy beans, and raising cattle.
We have more than 1 month of winter here, we have approximately 5 months--and I hate it. As Single4 said we feel lucky it will be 50 degrees this weekend here. :(
I am a warm weather person myself--I don't like cold. Last winter I was snowed in-- our drive way had 3 - 4 feet of snow and we couldn't get out also our electricity was out for 3 days because of the blizzard. We finally got out when a nice farmer drove by on his tractor and dug us out.
All of you sound so experienced in traveling--I guess I am too poor to travel, but someday maybe.
I can live through you guys.

As compared to other parts of the country. Far as I know the only ski's in Texas are water ski's. Now the wind can be brutal and you better protect yourself, 30 degrees may shut every thing down as the wind makes what they call black ice and they shut down all the highways.

If you are a warm weather person then the mediterrean would actually suit you rather well, such as places like spain, italy and MALTA (my home).
Our main source of income in Malta is tourism.
We have farmers to in Malta but mainly in Gozo, Gozo is a smaller island as Malta is the mother island of the maltese archipelago.
I can't imagine what I would do if I saw so much snow. When I lived in UK for 6 years it snowed only once but not a lot and I remember I was SO excited the I ran outside and bare handed I grabbed a bunch of snow... and OUCH it hurt lol, silly mediterrean gal ;)

When the cold wind freezes the pavement making it so slick you have no control over you car. You can't see it either. When I lived in Indiana on the tip of Lake Michigan the lake effect snow was like a blizzard some time. I never stayed home from school because of the weather in my life and have a bad back to this day from shoveling snow all my life. You can have the snow and cold, but I do miss cross country skiing in the winter.

Well, popular foods here are PASTA, all kinds of pasta with different sauces, such a red sauces or cream sauces, with meats or fish etc.
We love our steak here too.
My favorite restaurant in Malta believe it or not is :- Buffalo Bills ;)
Traditional maltese food is, baked pasta, very very good. Only Malta does it ;)
And also we have amazing maltese bread, for lunch in summer this is awesome. We sliced the maltese bread, smear a fresh tomato on it, add the pieces of tomatoes, add oil, salt n pepper, olives and capers.. and its easy and so tasty. Sometimes we can add tuna.

OMG you guys talk so much lol... I would be so fat if I lived with tuscany or krs, mainly because italian is my favorite kind of foods, that and I just love noodles. I use to live in that cold snow you guys were talking about. I lived in South Dakota for like 12 years and the blizzards up there are legendary. Coincidentally enough one time I took a drive from Arizona to South Dakota, and on our way back from Arizona we drove up through Nebreska during February and that was SO much snow. We were shut inside of a hotel for like two days.
Krs as far as those long drives go... I drove from California to South Dakota in 23 hours, it's about a 1,400 miles.
I live in California now and there is no really change in weather, I mean it gets colder a bit during the winter and a hotter during the summer, but that's about it, however there are massive rain storms, last march it rained 29 days out of 31! One of the most depressing things about living here is the lack of snow during christmas, it really doesn't feel like the holidays without snow.
I wish I could go to malta as well... italy too! I have traveled to every state west of the Mississippi, and I have been to New York and Newark(one of the worst ghetto's in the country), however if you really want to nice city to visit I recommend Seattle it's beautiful.

KRS I just looked up Malta. It looks awesome. Are you anywhere near Comino "The Blue Lagoon" That is where I want to be. Soooooo pretty.
WOW I didn't even know that place existed. Malta is an Island, right? (stupid me from Nebraska) What do you do there?
It looks like you could get to Spain, Italy, France, & Greece pretty easily, do you fly there? (probably another stupid question)
Malta is the mother island of the Maltese Archilpelago. Then we have Gozo, then Comino which is the smallest island. On Comino there is just 1 Hotel and 1 Monestry. The Blue Lagoon is on Comino, I have been there a few times, you can get there by boat. In fact if you noticed I changed my pic.. its of Blue Lagoon. It is bueatiful

*BYOB (Bring your own beer/liquor)
*Skinny dipping (with enough alcohol, we will all look good)
*I will drive the bus there... I am designated driver therefore will not be able to drink
on the way there. (I'm not driving back!)
Oh... what happens in Malta... STAYS IN MALTA!!!! Lol... (NO CAMERAS) Hee Hee
Booked all free for my friends at AMHD to arrive on Dec 13th ;)
The only draw back is it may be cold to go skinny dipping... also best not to go skinny dippin at the blue lagoon as the sea water is so clear we could see everything LOL

Krs as far as those long drives go.......I drove from California to South Dakota in 23 hours, it's about a 1,400 miles.
If you drove 23 hrs in Malta = driving round the island almost 23 times heheh LOL

I'm not as lucky as you all. I only get Thursday off :(
I hate working the day after Thanksgiving. I like to put up Christmas decorations the day after--it is kind of my tradition. I wanted to take the day after off--but was not allowed.
So what is a person to do??
I drink Diet Mountain Dew for my pick-me-up--------where's another

Speaking of christmas, there is a misconception that the largest shopping of day of the year is after thanksgiving, or black Friday. When in all actuality it is either the saturday/sunday before christmas...
What I love best abot christmas is that it installs hope and cheer...
