You have to wait so many years in between the filings. If you filed a Chapter 7 you have to wait 7 years before filing another Chapter 7. You can file a Chapter 11 after a Chapter 7 but the Chapter 11 is basically a reorganization plan and you have to have sufficient income in which to repay the creditors. The Federal court filing system will catch the refile and bounce it back if filed too soon after the first discharge.

Actually the time between chapter 7's changed last year to 8 years between.

Also on the chapter 13's if the repayment amount is less than 30 percent it is treated as a chapter 7 inregards to the time frame between filings.
