My washing machine smells. I have tried running a cycle with bleach, wiped out the drum and still it has a musty smell. When I wash clothes I need to remove them immediately and even then they have that musty smell. I ordered AFRESH online but do not see how this will help if bleach didn't. I think it must be behind the drum or a filter to clean, which I do not see.
Any suggestions?
The washer is only 5 years old

Hello Debbie !
The only parts where smell can develop are :
1 - in the soap box, where the water enters the machine. But it is only passing through there (not very likely).
2 - in the drum itself : the water is pumped out of there at the end of each cycle (not very likely).
3 - in the pump section : water will always remain there, and bacterial and other growth is possible. Have you checked the pump section and the filter there? Is it clean? I expect something to be stuck there...
4 - in the drain section : although the pump section should provide a water lock, it is possible that the smell enters the washing machine that way. Smell the drain pipe it if contains the same smell. And if so check the pump section again to see what causes the water lock to disappear.
Note : keep between washes the door of the washer open, so that dampness (the cause of fungus development) remains minimal.
