Went to Opry Mills (Basicially Our Version of West Edmondton Mall) Bought 2 pairs of shoes and Drool'd Over a Bunch of Guitars and the Gibson Showcase, Ate a weird Burger that had Plantains on it at TGI Friday's and today I figured out that my father is Using my Summer Essay As Blackmail because when I constantly ask to go somewhere He uses the ole "is your essay done yet?" excuse -.-

And I'm wishing I didn't have to wake up at 7 in the morning on MOnday for football

Sweetie, you'll meet people, nice people, don't give up hope that they're out there. I come from a small town, not many people here at all. I remember high school, "the best years of your life" my a$$. Life begins after high school, so don't let it get you down, okay?

Now, I need your advice, I think I might have gone to far in a post again. I was mad, really mad. Do you think I said the wrong thing?

Dang, is this were I admit that I was arrested once? Long time ago, I was 18, we were walking home from the bar, it was winter and cold. The mall has a payphone in the front foyer area, the guys we were with said they'd spring for a cab. The doors were unlocked, we went in and called a cab. Police car drove up, came in to the mall, asked what we were doing. We told him. My friend Kim was a bit drunk, and has a big mouth, she looks at the cop and says "Man, you are ugly, I hope your partner is better looking than you." Bingo, bango, we're under arrest. Down to the police station we go, where I inform one of the other officers what happened. We were released, and had to walk home from the polic station. Grrrrrr. Told you I wasn't an angel. :);)

Alty: not mean at all... although she may take it a bit harshly, regardless... it was justified.

Guy: as I said before, high school was the "academic time of my life"... where the books I read actually had stories. College was "the time of my life...socially" but being a pre-med math major... academically, I would have rather gotten a root canal... everyday... for 4 years.

Oh, it's OK alty. I've been arrested twice, pulled over more times than I can count, not to mention the fights that my friends always get me into, and have been shot at twice. (they missed both times)

I like Harry Potter too, Eragon is good, and I used to read Tom Clancy.

I love Tami Hoag, and Sue Harrison, Jean M Auel (she better finish her next book soon or I'm going to hunt her down), Robin Cook, anything but romance novels. :)

Shot at once, in a bar, and almost knifed, kicked that guy in the groin and ran. Had a guy smash my head into his windshield because I wouldn't sleep with him, and then punch me because his windshield broke and he was mad, I was 15, he was 20 (big mistake) I still have the scar on my forehead. Let's see, there's more, but maybe some things are better left unsaid. ;)

Back in Middle School, They had this thing CAlled ACcecleration REading where the School booard made sure that the students read the books

What they did was take a crap load of random books and give them "Points' based on length, difficutly, etc... Then each student had a certain number of points he had to reach by taking the tests off the book

I'd always do the little search thing to find the highest point books and I found that one,

I almost read War & Peace o_O

Maybe it's, for pee, for poo, and then cleans up after itself. Now that would be cool. :)

Joe, some potty training advice from an old pro. Don't use pull ups, it doesn't work, they're just glorified diapers. Go straight to underwear, if he has an accident he'll learn allot faster if he's allowed to feel it. Sydney wore pullups for 5 months, and wouldn't go potty at all. I put underwear on her, she was trained in one day, no lie. Good luck, he's growing up. :)

JoeCanada76
Jul 12, 2008, 09:33 PM
3 in one. Complete as its own potty, then take it apart the one piece fits on the toilet and then the bottom part turns into a big step so its easier for them to climb up. Lol

Alty thanks for the advice. I also hear that boys are lot harder and lot longer to train but this guy is so independent wants to do everything on his own and the adult way. Maybe its time for some underwear, oh the mess, but good way to learn quickly wooo hoo.

Bought James van Praag book. The co producer and writer of Ghost Whisperer.

Like things like that.

I've heard of the ghost whisperer... not praag though... may have to look into it.

... I'm not sure how I was potty trained.

... I believe the tools used included banana leaves, a match, and push pins.. . not sure how they all worked together, or if they did, as I still use adult diapers.

Okay Joe, you made me do this, I've been waiting for an opportunity to share these gems;

On Sears hairdryer:
Do not use while sleeping.
(Gee, that's the only time I have to work on my hair!)

On a bag of Fritos:
You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(The shoplifter special!)

On a bar of Dial soap:
Directions: Use like regular soap.
(and that would be how?)

On some Swann frozen dinners:
Serving suggestion: Defrost.
(But it's 'just' a suggestion!)

On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert: (printed on bottom of the box)
Do not turn upside down.
(Too late! You lose!)

On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding:
Product will be hot after heating.
(Are you sure? Let's experiment.)

On packaging for a Rowenta iron:
Do not iron clothes on body.
(But wouldn't that save more time?)(Whose body?)

On Boot's Children's cough medicine:
Do not drive car or operate machinery.
(We could do a lot to reduce the construction accidents if we just kept those 5 year olds off those fork lifts.)

On Nytol sleep aid:
Warning: may cause drowsiness.
(One would hope!)

On a Korean kitchen knife:
Warning: keep out of children.
(hmm... something must have gotten lost in the translation... )

On a string of Christmas lights:
For indoor or outdoor use only.
(As opposed to use in outer space.)

On a food processor:
Not to be used for the other use.
(Now I'm curious.)

On Sainsbury's peanuts:
Warning: contains nuts.
(but no peas?)

On an American Airlines packet of nuts:
Instructions: open packet, eat nuts.
(somebody got paid big bucks to write this one... )

On a Swedish chainsaw:
Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands.
(Raise your hand if you've tried this... )

On a child's Superman costume:
Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly.
(Oh go ahead! That's right, destroy a universal childhood belief.)

Sneezy,

I truly wish I had more time to selectively pleasure read. Actually Marta and were out tonight and she brought it up in our conversation that I should find the time as I used to. She remembers me being a lot more gentle and relaxed when I read what I chose to instead of trade and training seminar info. She did add that I am still the only man for her and she continues to love me even though I may sometimes stress... you know how it is...

We probably have over 250 books in our loft that we turned into a great library. I do need to take more time to do the things I really want to do... we'll see..

Sneezy, I just loved those warning labels...

Here are a few 'truths' I found in my CFS Newsletter. I really love men, but also enjoy a laugh or two, so here goes..

SMILE OF THE WEEK

(contributions for this section are most welcome)

=: A Woman's View On Men :=

What do you call a handcuffed man?
Trustworthy.

Why do only 10 percent of men make it to heaven?
If they all went, it would be hell.

Why do men like smart women?
Opposites attract.

How are husbands like lawn mowers?
They're hard to get started, they emit noxious odors, and half the time they don't work.

How do men define a 50-50 relationship?
We cook, they eat; we clean, they dirty; we iron, they wrinkle.

How do men exercise on the beach?
By sucking in their stomachs every time they see a bikini.

How do you get a man to stop biting his nails?
Make him wear shoes.

How does a man show he's planned for the future?
He buys two cases of beer instead of one.

How is Colonel Sanders like the typical male?
All he's concerned with are thighs, breasts, and legs.

How many men does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
One. He just holds it up there and waits for the world to revolve around him.

What did God say after creating man?
"I can do much better than that."

What do men consider a gourmet restaurant?
Any place without a drive-up window.

What do you call a man with half a brain?
Gifted.

What do you do with a bachelor who thinks he's God's gift to women?
Exchange him.

What should you give a man who has everything?
A woman to show him how to work it.

What's a man's idea of honesty in a relationship?
Telling you his real name.

What's the best way to force a man to do sit-ups?
Put the remote control between his toes.

What's the difference between Big Foot and an intelligent man?
Big Foot's been seen several times.

What's the smartest thing a man can say?
"My wife says..."

Why are all dumb blonde jokes one-liners?
So men can understand them.

Why did God create man before woman?
Because you're always supposed to have a rough draft before you create your masterpiece.

Why do female black widow spiders kill the males after mating?
To stop the snoring before it starts.

Why do jocks play on artificial turf?
To keep them from grazing.

Why do men need instant replay on TV sports?
Because after 30 seconds they forget what happened.

Why does it take 100 million sperm to fertilize one egg?
Because not one will stop and ask for directions.

Why is psychoanalysis a lot quicker for men than for women?
When it's time to go back to his childhood he's already there.

Hi needkarma, where have you been? Good to hear from you.

I don't hate men at all, but just as most men like 'blond' jokes, I like a good laugh at 'men' jokes now and then.

I hope you know me better than that dear.

Awww, thanks Chicky! I will email you later, and give you my # too.

This whole thing with my ex still pops up every now and then. The whole thing with my vehicles being torn up and the vandalism in my yard, which just so happened it wasn't him the last time.

I get prank calls in the middle of the night. I was getting them for a long time, but they seemed to stop for quite awhile until lastnite/morn. They are always in between midnite and 7am. Most often I get them around 3am... that's when the bars let out. It's always from a private #, and the cops have records at least an inch thick, of all of these calls. They haven't done anything to trace them, and the company will not let me do it. They always tell me to call the police, and then the police tell me to call the company. It's a great big circle jerk.

What happened lastnight to scare me, was my phone rang right around 3am. Private # again. They called back many times, and the last time I answered, they whispered "I'm watching you". Niki was outside, and all of a sudden she went crazy barking! I very cautiously opened the door to let her in, and she came running in, still barking at the door. I tried to lock my door, and found there was something wrong with my lock. It just wouldn't latch. So right now, I have got a bunch of furniture blocking my back door!

It freaked me right out! I have an unlisted #, so I'm figuring this is the work of my ex again. I don't know why he just doesn't get a life! But he's done some bad things to me before, and it scares me!

Hey there Starby! Goodness, this touched a chord with me. First suggestion is get a new "unlisted" number. Be very careful as to who you give it to. I know it sounds elementary. When we went through some bad stuff, it was suggested to me and I didn't do it because I was concerned it would escalate things if he could not make the calls. We had our house set on fire, our daughter's car blown up in our drive way, red paint poured on our white car, lots of death threat phone calls and paper left on our porch with threats in code. Sounds like something out of a book I know but until you live something like you are living through, no one can identify. I had people ask me, "What did you do to him to make him so angry?" I would rely with disgust in my voice, "Breathe??????" We had no idea until years later when members of his family called and requested permission to visit with me. They said they had no idea what he was doing until he started doing it to them. They also told me that he was jealous of our family. I can't wrap my mind around that kind of jealousy but it exists. Most people look at things like we do, 'there has to be a reason' but that is not the case with some people who are not quite balanced in their thinking.

The fear factor is what the caller is wanting and calling to do to you. That is not to say, not to worry BUT do take precautions and DO take this serious. However, when he calls best thing is not to respond, just hang up. Most callers are wanting to instill fear. The person who said, "There is nothing to fear but fear itself" was not quite accurate. There is a lot to fear in this world.

Bottom line Starby, take care of you!!

When we called in the police when we received the written death threat, we did not know we could get a copy of the report. It was not until a year later and when we read it, there were 12 things that were wrong. Some examples were: Their white Chevelle burned!! We have never owned a white Chevelle and it was our daughter's red Turbo Sprint that was blown up, no mention of that. It stated my husbands position at work inaccurately and many other facts were totally wrong, so do get a copy of all reports you make and if they are not accurate, demand they fix it. I said, "No wonder the detectives didn't take us seriously after reading this......it is all wrong."

Then when we asked to see the death threat note, found out it was missing from the evidence room. When we addressed this with the Chief of Police, he said, "We lost your evidence, so sue us." The guy doing this stalked my daughter and myself for two years. His brother was in politics. His brother-in-law was on the police force. Go figure. We tried to obey the laws of the land, so to speak. The DA told us, there was no match up on voice print or fingerprints. However, another employee in that office got us off to the side and said it was a definite match to the suspect.

All my energy for two years went into keeping my kids alive, going out each morning, making the kids stay in the house and checking for bombs or any kind of explosives under the car, under the hood, then would start the engine and let it run, before allowing them out of the house.

Result... the police made a deal for the guy to help get evidence against his brother-in-law on the force and we were told, "The B_______ family has our guarantee they will never again be touched by this man." He never paid in anyway. He is still in our town but we have not been bothered again by him.

Best result, my children are now grown with families of their own in our states and other towns so I feel some better. The man had an incestuous relationship with his daughter. There were reports made by others of things he did but still... he was not arrested nor did he lose his job. Nothing.

I have seven journals I wrote during that time but cannot even look in them. I know your fear. You don't know who for sure nor do you know for sure they will not do something. I pray for your safety. Chances are they are getting off just knowing they are terrorizing you but let me tell you, some people would say to us, "Oh, I don't think he would really do anything, do you?" AAAAAAAAAAAAaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh shucks no... he just burned our house, blew up our daughter's car, threatened to blow her head off phone call after phone call but I am sure he would never REALLY hurt us!" That is CRAZY. But let me say this, unless a person lives this kind of terror, they cannot fully understand. I DO!

I felt it was up to me to protect them although at one time, there was a Federal agent who had 25 plain clothes policeman at a function where my daughter was being honored. That did help. The man was there and walked right up in the face of the agent and the officer, assigned to stay with me and just stopped, my daughter close by, and smiled and walked away. Hand on guns, they could do nothing.

Hang in there. Nothing lasts forever. Starby, I know you have a lot of friends here who have offered support..........I do the same. PM me or whatever you need to do to deal with this, venting, crying, screaming.

When this first began, I thought all were asleep in my home. I was in the bathroom just crying so hard, so scared for me kids. My daughter came quietly in, opened the door, hugged me and I said, "C_______, I know this goes against everything I have ever taught you but if he touches you, I will kill him with my bare hands." She said, "Mama, there is nothing he can do to me that will be near as bad as what God will do to him." Goodness. Out of the mouthes of babes! I felt ashamed but it was a tough deal to go through. Out of this though, my chidlren learned that you can question any one in any position of authority, they have the right. They are to do it with respect but they can stand before anyone, adult or whatever and stand firm. That has helped them in their lives, I firmly believe.

I have one more thing to share but will do so on next note... this one might be too long.

Thought this might help you understand that I do understand your frustration. I was told when I get a call to dial a certain number and the call would be automatically traced. Ok... we did this many times. They were always, of course, pay phones but one time, I got a call on Monday, called the detective. He said, no, that trace had not come in yet. I called the phone company. They said, "Oh yes, it is in. We get them within minutes but I can't give you the results have to give to the detective." I told her I understood and thanked her. I called the next day and the next day... "No Jan, that trace still isn't in but I will keep checking..............called again and again. Finally, on Friday, the GREAT DETECTIVE calls and says, "Jan, well, we finally got that trace in. It was made from a pay phone on the outside of the Country Club Apts. Now, he either lives there or is going there to make the calls." Well Starby, you could have floored me. What great detective work. I wonder where he went to class to figure that one out.

They couldn't of course arrest the guy unless they caught him doing something. We were told to get his trash (to get some finger prints to compare to the ones on the death threat note that they did lose), when they put it out for pick up as it is then not private property to them. One of our friends walked point in Nam and he said he could do it and they would never know it. He was there before daylight. The trash was out by the street for pick up. All that was in the can was a dirty personal item and a doctor appt. card. That was it. I wonder who tipped the guy off??????

Well, I will apologize for taking up so much time on the thread to vent our situation but I am hoping, although it doesn't stop your situation, perhaps it might help, knowing others do know what you are going through and feel it along with you. Little consolation. But anyway Starby, the frustrations of getting anything done is astronomical and some times, it is just the way the law is written that ties the cops hands yet then there are those detectives like this guy who makes such statements, you wonder how in the world..........yes, I did tell him I knew the trace had been in since Monday. He ended up being forced to resign.....not because of mishandling our case but for using office phone for personal business. At least he is out of there!

Best to you. Sorry I have rambled so..............Love and Hugs and tons of prayers for protection over you and your property and peace in your heart! LOVE!

One more suggestion, when possible, have a witness to all conversations you have with authorities. Record the guys voice if possible for voice print.

When I asked for a restraining order, the detective said, "Oh, let's wait on that for awhile." At that time, I didn't realize I could insist and should have."

Starby..

When I was going through something similar, I got a mobile phone and only gave the number to those who needed to contact me.

Also, every time I leave the house, even today, I hold my keys in my hand (a key between each of my fingers close to my knuckles, pointing outward) to poke at anyone's face if I feel threatened. Good thing you have your doggy to give you warnings.

If you have friends or neighbors that might have extra safety locks somewhere, ask if you can use them for a while. I would also ask them if they see anything suspicious - the more people involved to watch - the safe you might be. There is no shame in asking for help and it might surprise you how many people are willing to support you in this.

As for calling the police, this might sound funny, but I would tell them that I just hit someone with my baseball bat (which I kept near my bed at night and near the door during the day) and that they should come and collect the injured person that invaded your privacy - that might make them come by quicker. I don't know the laws in Canada or if there are Safe Houses and Support Groups for this, but if there are, register with them and get yourself a sponsor that you can contact when you feel threatened.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this, it's stressful and un-called for.

IMO whoever is doing this honestly needs to be bashed with a baseball bat - so get one..

Wishing I were there to help and comfort you dear,

Rebbie, wow, wow, that's all I can say. I've been stalked before, by an ex, but never to that degree. He just sent things to my house all the time, flowers, cards, gifts, calling non stop, I miss you, I need you, you're mine. I never had to call the police, I just arranged to meet with him and told him point blank that it was over. It worked for a while, years actually, but then, the day before my wedding, he called (hadn't talked to him in 5 years) and said "When you realize that I'm the only one for you, call me, I'll be waiting". That was 13 years ago, and I haven't heard from him since. Whew!

Starby, keep doing what you're doing, call the police even though they don't seem to be doing anything, write a journal, do what Rebbie said, she's been there, she knows more than any of us.

Stay safe Starby, and I'm here, anytime, I'm glad you listened and called me, it's never to late or too early, when you need me I'm here, day or night, got it? ;)

Hi rebbie, good to see you on here, and ramble on hon, because this is serious stuff and the more information people get, maybe the safer they will think and get a chance to survive longer.

My exhusband used to love to beat me, and after our divorce, I would allow him to pick up our daughter and visit with her when he had the time. Things were fine for a few years that way, until he got reassigned back to the U.S. from his Army unit in Frankfurt, Germany. Exactly one day before his flight left, I was attacked at my front door by two strangers. They beat me, bashed my head against the wall (had 7 skull fractures, maxilla fractures, broken zygomatic arch and internal bleeding). Even though it was payday and I had money in my purse, it was not touched, neither did they attempt to rape me, so after reporting to the police, (they still have not found the perpetrators afer 20 years) I did a little research myself (after surgery and recovery period) and found out that he paid a contract out on me just to beat the heck out of me as a good-bye gift. I have metal loops in my head and you can still see hairline indications of the damage done - not to mention the surgery, pain, and recovery time (both physical and mental)

I found this out by going to his old unit (nobody knew me there) and flirted with a few of his buddies at the club. After a few nights of this, one of them told stories of what old Bill dreamed of doing to his ex-wife before he left the country. So, there is great police work done all over the world - that benefits more criminals than victims.

Sometimes we just have to take care of a few things ourselves when pushed too far.

I could not prove what the young soldier said, and my ex was already back in the U.S. so no charges were brought up there. The germans did promise to 'interrogate' him if he ever came back to Germany - a lot that would have helped.

I still have my baseball bat readily available and a knife under my bed, and will worry about the police later if I'm still alive to tell them my side of the story. Some women are not that lucky.

So Starby.. the more people that are aware, the safer you'll be and I sincerely hope that you have better times real soon.

My ex got himself kicked out of the Army under psychological reasons. He did this so that he would not have to pay child support as this came out automatically from his monthly paycheck. After that, he never had a steady job. That was his other way of paying me back - not thinking that he was only depriving his child. Some people are just not as rational as we would wish they were. That all is in my past, and my daughter is a wonderful, loving mother herself now.

We all have our chapters in life - and I am glad that I can share some of the experiences if it helps just one person to be alert and happier in their life.

Violence touches so many lives, it's truly astonishing to hear of so many people who've been beaten, stalked, harmed because of someone they knew. It's a scary world, one would think that the police (people who are paid to serve and protect) would take these matters more seriously. I was raised to believe that police were good people, and that I could always count on them if I was ever in trouble. I want to believe that the there are good cops out there, ones that won't stop until they find the person responsible for crimes that are committed. Alas, that belief is slowly draining. Maybe there are one or two out there that actually care, but the majority are lazy and won't do anything until someone actually dies, even then they don't do as much as they should.

Starby, stay safe. You have my number, and I'm here for you. Unfortunately you live 5 hours away, and I wouldn't be able to get to you quickly, but, if you ever need me, I'll be there in a flash, I'll do my best to be by your side. Know that, you are a friend, and I'll do my best for you, whatever it is you need, just ask. :)

Yes, it's still the Bunny Room... and we are all safe and with friends here!

Thank you Chery! I was concerned what all I shared might have been a little much for this thread but I think it does help for others to know some of what some go through so others know we do feel compassion in a deeply felt way. One of the most difficult things for me was feeling that I was in this all alone, except for the Lord. It was just He and I, protecting, loving, caring! So many just didn't want to hear, didn't want to help, didn't want to know there are things like this that happen to good people who have not done anything to bring it into play. For them, they needed to know how this can happen if we had not done anything to bring it on. For that, there are no answers I could give them because I did not understand it either.

I had one girl sit down beside me at an outdoor function and say, "Jan, I would really love to sit with you but I am afraid of being shot." I just told her I understood. At least she talked to me and acknowledged something was going on and not just ignoring it.

I am so sorry you had to go through that horribly frightening experience, plus the physical pain. The body heals but the spirit, not so quickly sometimes. Fear is a horrible thing to live with. I have a favorite scripture that says, "God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." and I use that quite often to realize, there are things I fear but I don't have to allow the fear to take over every facet of my being and at times, during those years, it did. I would get a phone call saying, "I am going to blow your oldest kid's head off s o o n, s o o n, s o o n!" I was busy getting it recorded, traced, then when he hung up, I would just fall to the floor shaking and crying... not if the kids were here because I needed to be strong for them but it was difficult ( I would shake but not be emotional, couldn't make my body not shake). I can't imagine getting beaten by people you didn't know and you were so amazing to find out the way you did, the truth. It is as you say, the officials may never do anything even if he is in Germany but you were pro active in your own behalf. I admire that so much Chery! What a woman you are!!

Thank you for sharing and I know Starby and others will appreciate it also. Sort of a kinship and there is strength in numbers... the more people that we realize have traumas, we can be that much more supportive of each other! I think it is also such a testimony to perseverance to know this because we also see the light-hearted people here and knowing what some have gone through or are going through, and yet see they are survivors and strong people, enjoying love, laughter, and friendship!! Reaching out is good!

Thank you Firmy!! :) I appreciate the concern.

Sweet Alty, there truly are some amazing police officers out there! It is not as we were brought up to believe that all cops are good though as you say. One plain clothes officer was assigned to me at one time. The guy came up. She stayed between he and me and between he and my daughter later, with hand on weapon. Everything I know about this officer through the years has been good. One detective gave me his word, he would take care of the guy and end this thing. I believe he meant it but he was fired soon after and from the details I know, it was those in control that were protecting this guy stalking us, that fired him. So, even though there are good and bad in all professions, too many times, it is the ones calling the shots that limit the really caring and good officers and they get frustrated and eventually find other professions. To all those out there who do care and do a great job, I take my hat off to you and ask that if possible, you hang in there, even though the higher ups, try to discourage you. WE NEED YOU!

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry it took me so long to respond, but puter is acting up again today. It was working half ways decent before, but of course when I REALLY want to get on to talk you y'all, it craps out on me.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!. TO ALL OF YOU... for your support and kind loving words and support! I can't even find the words myself to tell you just how much I appreciate all of you!! ::tears whelling up::

I was so scared lastnite, and felt helpless really. The cops took forever to get here, and they really did a whole lot of nothing once again, like I said. They took their report, and told me they would make occasional drive by's in my neighborhood. WOOHOO! I even screamed at them and asked what the hell it has to take to get their attention! Finding me dead on my floor probably. This has been going on for sooooo long now (over a yr and a half) and it is really just getting to me!

I do have 2 by 4's, that are always sitting at the front and back doors. I sleep with my keys everynite, because I can press the emerg button for my van alarm. I have set off my smoke detector deliberately to sound an alarm. I have told all of my neighbors, and they are very kind, but not usually up at 3am when most of this stuff happens. I am scared to change my phone #, because sometimes that at least gives me a heads up! I have "beware of dog" signs everywhere, I have security system signs (although I don't have one, and can't afford one) I have even slept with a knife under my pillow, although I don't really sleep. I've tried everything I can think of, that is within my means, yet the cops still refuse to do anything.

The proof of them doing nothing, and the legal system doing nothing, is the $500 fine that my ex got for forcing his way into my house, breaking my ribs, cheekbone, bruising my lung, and reinjuring my hip. Do I really have to wonder why some people go the vigilante route? Do they ever wonder? I have a good and trusted friend that works for the police force. He is one of the good guys, and is so sick of the politics and the lack of judgement and support from fellow officers, that he is wanting to take an early retirement. Unfortunately, he is in a different division, and can't help me with my problems, because of those politics and all of the mumbo jumbo that goes on with the police force.

This post is getting too long, so I will carry on with another, because I have more to say, especially to Rebby and Momma C.

I just would like to say again... Thanks so much you guys! I appreciate your support more than you will ever know! :)

First of all, my dear sweet Rebby! I sat in shock reading what has happened to you and your family! OMG!! I can't even grasp it to imagine what that must have been like! That guy is mentally ill! He should've been institutionalized! For you and your children to live in fear like that is unimaginable, and unspeakable! What the hell has this world come to, when you can't even get correct police reports, or when someone in the dept. is stealing evidence?! I'm soooooo very so that you had to go through all of that Rebby. You are one of the sweetest people on the face of this earth, and to have some maniac make you live in fear, is... well... just more than I can comprehend.

Momma C,. sweet, never hurt a fly Momma C! I will send you an email with more words, but you have had a really hard time, and had some nasty uncaring people in your life. It really makes you wonder what made them this way, and how their brains (if they have one) work! They obviously have an awful tormented and delusional view of people and the world around them. I will write you more a bit later okay?. I just can't come up with the words right now, I am so flabergasted with sheer lack of human caring that these people have.

Is it just me?. or does there seem to be a pattern here. My ex was in the British Army. He was in Bosnia, and in Afganistan, but mostly on peace missions, clean up, or reserve. Seems a little odd to me, that all of these people that have done these things we are talking about, were in the military... doesn't it?

Starby, I really wish there was something that I could do to make you safe. Every time I hear this sort of thing I cringe and get really pi**ed off. I don't have a solution. The only thought I have is; can you possibly play his game to some extent? If you could get your really good friend with the police department (I realize he can't do anything with the politics as is) to maybe do the "works" on him? I don't usually think along these lines but you need serious help.

What I am suggesting is; sit down w/ your friend, have a long discussion again the situation hon. When he again says that there is nothing he can do legally... say to him "legally?" He will begin to get the drift, as they say. Making this shorter... simply ask him if he or anyone he knows can "set up" your ex? In my opinion he certainly deserves it and nothing else is going to work at this point... maybe not hurt him physically but whatever...

Maybe your friend who I'm sure... knows people hon. People that can somehow "set him up" for something that will put him away for a while. And he will never know who it was. Or, maybe your friends "friends" can simply pay him a visit...

Just a few things I dug up from my younger years... and when some good people needed some extra help... from "friends."

I never "ran" with these kind of people, but I knew them and they knew me... wasn't a bad relationship.

When I discovered that my first wife was running around on me, I was devastated, truly devastated. A short while later a friend of mine wanted me to go to a bar that was a little shady, shall we say, for a drink. After a hour or so this monster of a guy put his hand on my shoulder and said are you... "stringer?" I turned and looked up at a 90 degree angle just to see his face. He looked like a professional wrestler.

He told me, "your wife is seeing a guy named Paul Carol he drives a while Buick and lives at......and so on." "He will not be seeing your wife or any one for some time." I said what.. My friend said, "turn around and drink your beer "stringer" he had it coming...I said "what the h*ll?" Bottom line Starby, they broke both of his knee caps.

I was shocked and did not approve of any of this....my friend said "drink your beer, there are wittinesses that know you were here when it happened... I have never forgotten this. There is a whole different world out there that most of us don't know about.

I am not suggesting that you have any of this done to anyone, seriously... I just know that sometimes it takes fire to fight fire... for your own protection hon.

Jul 14, 2008, 08:08 PM
Thanks String Man! ;) I do know what you mean, and I do have some friends that... lets just say... if they ever see him in a dark alley, he better have on his sneakers!

As for my cop friend, he said he will try his best to do anything and everything for me that he can. He said unfortunately, they are very few of the older and trusted members of the force still around, because they got tired of the young inexperienced, want to carry a gun, want power and control, rookies! Unfortunately, those are the ones that always show up at my door when I call. So a lot of the good guys have just gotten fed right up and taken early retirement.

I have talked to my friend... and his wife who is a good friend, about all of this. But Norm is a straight by the book kind of guy. He really wants to help anyway he can, but he isn't the type that will go beyond the law, so to say. He might break a rule here and there, but he is old school. I like old school... but I wish he could be "Corleone" old school, if you know what I mean!! LOL!

I felt a lot safer here when I had neighbors on both sides. The guy that used to live on one side of me moved, but he would hear every bump in the night, and either call me, or just come over and check things out. He was a professional boxer, and a pretty big guy, so I felt like I kind of had my own personal body guard until he moved. The people on the other side of me are a really young couple with a newborn, so although they are helpful sometimes, they aren't people I can count on in a pinch. I have a crack dealer and user, that lives directly behind me, that my ex buys crack from... or used to anyway. I didn't know about his drug use until right before I left. So that is kind of scary too. There are not very nice people hangin out there.

Moving isn't an option right now either, or I would. So it's just really stressful. Hopefully ex will be stolling down a dark alley sometime, at the wrong time! ;)

Hey starby,

I'm glad you finally made it on - you don't need any of puter's bs right now I can tell...

I wanted to say that I am impressed with the way you seem to be handling this. I am surprised at how positive and "normal" you appear to be with yourself after what happened last night. I commend you for being strong and keeping your head on straight - bravo.

Like everyone said, I wish there was something I could do more than talk to you on here, and if there is let me know. Hopefully this creep will get what he has coming because people like this disgust me. I don't understand what would posses you to do this to another person, especially a woman. Its disgusting.

Anyway, I hope that tonight is a better night for you. If you need anything, were all here for you :)

Thank you so much Biggie! If I could reach through my screen and hug you all, I would! :) My ex is a creep, and a loser! I feel like such a fool that I was even with somebody that was capable of these things, and I'm actually pretty embarrassed to even say it all outloud. He wasn't like that when we were together. It was only towards the very end, and it was like a Jekyl and Hyde thing. He used to be my best friend in the world, and everyone that met him, loved him. Then unbeknownst to me, he got involved with a group of young kids from work (he was their boss) and started with Coke and Crack. It totally changed him from the person he used to be, into this stark raving mad lunatic! Got to love those drug pushers eh?

Hey there guys I'm MG. You guys don't know me because I've just joined recently. Well, it was yesterday, the day that I think I've read the most in my life in a single day! Let's just say that I had nothing better to do but sit around and do nothing. (It was one of those days... ) I was searching for some answers about working out and the result brought me to this page. Anyway, I found the answers to be quite impressive. The answer was by sneezy and tal. So I became curious and looked at their profile and found a post that read: " I'm doing NC". I've never heard of the term so I looked at it and read... read and read. It was an amazing "adventure" that sneeze pulled off. From the first to the last I read. Even the advice given by the people.

I felt as if it was giving me a heads up. Even though nothing on that thread had nothing to do with me, I thought it can be used for me in the future. What to think and how to act in those certain or similar situations. It taught me life lessons about people and how $hit happens and the only thing we can do is adapt. I'm sorry Alty if I bothered you by posting this on your thread. But I just saw it as the only way to tell you guys thank you for helping even though it was indirectly... but hey... isn't that what this site is about? I just want to congratulate sneezy on what he accomplished and how he did it. And sorry for reminding you about the whole thing again...
Thanks for reading. Well I have to go to sleep because I have to work tomorrow!

Later, MG.

MG: thanks

No need to apologize for it... it's been... what, 7 months? I'm over it. Yeah, this site's kind of like cocaine. Not sure how I feel about it, but I can't help it.

I'm glad you enjoyed reading my "adventure," and I'm glad it indirectly helped you. Feel free to ask me any questions.

nite alty.

I'll hold down the fort while you are out.

...which means...I get to yell at teenage girls who want kids...and answer the repetitive "can I be pregnant" and "What's this on my penis?" questions.

You'll do just fine - I have confidence in you!

You ain't seen nothing yet dear. Welcome to the site, and I enjoyed your long introduction.. at least you said something more than just hello.

Don't be a stranger and check out the rest of the site... it's better reading than some newspapers sometimes - at least we are totally unbiased here.

Aren't we folks??

At any rate, you'll not have a boring moment with us, no matter where we jump to.

Yup, unbiased. That's us.

My problem is sometimes I relate too much to a situation and end up telling my story - thinking that it will help them... sometimes it does, sometimes it just comes out as irrelevant fluff. :) But its all from my heart.

We had a horrible storm here lastnite, and now there are city trucks cleaning up my street, and the noises fromt eh trucks are echoing in my head!

I couldn't believe when I read your story about the gas station! WOW! That must have been something to see! Scary stuff!

The storm here wiped out an entire town lastnite, and took roofs off a school and community center, and destroyed mobile homes, in a town where I used to live, about 15 minutes from me now. I still haven't heard from my parents, because the phone lines are still down, but I assume I would've heard something by now if something bad happened to them. I don't get the local news, unless I'm in my van and have the radio on, so I really don't know what has all happened yet. I guess that's the bad thing about satellite TV and radio. No local news. Crazy weather!

Anyway, I should go. Have a good one, and will catch up with you later! I'll give you a call sometime Chicky, when I can actually hear what the person on the other end is saying! ;)

Yeah, it was one hell of a date change. Personally, I think 21 is a bit too young to be getting married, but it isn't my life. Whatever they want to do.

We don't have any real hard set plans for the party yet. It was hell trying to sell tickets and get people to go. There is going to be a raffle, and were getting a couple kegs. There is a plan to have a buy in for a beer pong tournament, but I guess that depends on interest. There was going to be an ice luge but that got scrapped last minute. Well, I'm no more in the Bunny Binky's room. In the castle, if you know what I mean. On page 35. My page mode is on 20 posts in a page, so its easier to read, though a bit longer to load.

It's raining, and thundering and lightning and yucky. Starby, I think we got your storm. :(

That sucks... so.. is the storm really bad?

Hope you stay safe because mother nature is unpredictable!

I'm good, should be sleeping, but had a random thought of something that I should post a question about so I got back online, and did... I've been so stressed lately, that I've gotten maybe three hours of sleep a night, and I see that tonight will most likely be no different.

Anyway, I see that you are new here. WELCOME! If you have any questions feel free to post them, ask a moderator or expert.

Well, the sun shines nearly the whole year round, except from the cyclonic period and some storms coming now and again. Ha, that reminds me of something... about three or four months ago, there was 'torrential rainfall'. The government decided to let the students go home earlier than usual. Bad mistake, a girl got killed in a flood. The members of her family were... hooooooo... so angry at the Minister of Education...

MGcali
Jul 17, 2008, 02:35 AM
Don't worry about it... America sounds good N' all but if you got here you'd see that it's like any other place on earth... (with a few different characteristics of course! :) )

Well, another month ago, there was another risk of 'torrential rain'. This time, the minister of educstion did nothing... I had to stay at school until the last minute with those heavy rain pouring down. I got soaked to the skin that day!

Well, I'm boring you with my stories... How about you?

MGcali
Jul 17, 2008, 02:48 AM
