HC, to think that we first met on my "What would you do if you won the lottery" thread, that prompted your café, then my pub, then the box, and now the den of iniquity, kidding. ;)

The doc said it was a viral infection or strep, but the strep screen was negative, and it would take until Monday to get a culture back, so if I'm not better by Monday, he's going to treat it as strep, but in the meantime get rest and fluids. And he gave me some lidocaine to gargle for the pain.

All in all I'm feeling better just from the lidocaine... my throat isn't as sore.

Hey ladies.

It's been... a while. Heh. It hasn't been that crazy of a weekend.

I ran into HBI girl at the martini night at the aquarium... we talked for a little bit, then we parted ways as we were there with separate groups. Nothing biggie. Following alty's advice.. I'm moving onward! Then I had dinner plans with hot persian girl (HPG) but she didn't end up picking up my call... I got stood up. First time, too. It's an interesting feeling. It was OK. I regrouped, went to my buddy's place, got some food, and we hung out... then we went to a salsa club (another first time)... hung around there, got back.

I look around my room now... and it's a filthy doggone mess. I should have known... I did nothing but trash my room the entire week of finals. I will be cleaning my room, giving lily a bath, and just taking the night off tonight... sorta. I have plans to go out again later tonight, but we'll see.

How's everyone doing?

P.S. - I put in a bid for another sports bar (the other one fell through... ) and the offer was just accepted last night. After I come back from Europe in June, I own the place :)

My weekend has consisted of talking with a good friend for hours on the phone, we have the gift of gab, and watching my kids ride their bikes. Sydney got a new bike last year right before winter hit, she just learned to ride a two wheeler last year too. The first few times on the bike today were a bit rocky, but she's got the hang of it now. They sure grow up fast, what happened to my baby, she's riding a two wheeler, before I know it she'll be getting in to some tattooed, pierced, multi colored hair guys van and going on a date. OVER MY DEAD BODY! Whew, tell me it will be a few years before I have to worry. :)

I've got company coming Monday week, so I'm cleaning this weekend.

I love that name, absolutely beautiful and very original. I'm Andrea, but people here just call me Alty. Wow, now my first name and last name are on the internet, never thought that would happen. ;)

Okay, bunny stories. I have three wonderful bunnies, Cotton, my avatar (pet store purchase, before we knew better), Thumper, (a poor little tyke, he's had a hard life, we rescued him from the SPCA), and last but definitely not least, Oreo, (she was given to us by my neighbors friend, they didn't want her anymore). I also have two dogs, a 13 year old lab (our friends dog had puppies, he was one of them) and a 7 years old border collie cross (another tough life SPCA rescue). One cockatiel, (original owner were allergic) and a 27 cent goldfish that will outlive us all. Add to that two kids, one hubby and me, and it's a very full house.

How about you, any pets? Should I guess, perhaps a chihuahua? :)

LOL. Yes, I have one chihuahua. That's it in the house. A one year old female chihuahua. She is my princess. She has her own dresser drawer for all her clothes.

This is Thumper, he actually has big brown eyes, but no matter what I do they come out red, poor little demon bunny. I love bunnies too, obviously, I'd rescue more if I could, they are very misunderstood and often given up to the SPCA.

People buy them because they're cute and don't realize that they have certain needs that, if they aren't met, can lead to behavioral problems etc. Thumper had two visits to the SPCA and lived for some time on the streets. He had what they thought was an "attitude" they were very wary about letting us adopt him, he'd been returned twice already. He's found his forever home with us. What they call "attitude" I call "personality" and boy does he have it and so much more. He is my little problem child, and I love him for it. Okay, now I'm getting all sappy. Sigh.

I warned you, I could talk forever about my fur baby's, don't even get me started on my human baby's, you'll get a whole book. ;)

I wasn't to impressed with that doll, heck I found it scary. If it had been a bit accurate then maybe I could have let it slide, but the poor thing had holes cut into her chest and a rubbery substance that was pushed out through the holes when her breasts were enlarged, it was wrong on so many levels. My daughter actually said "Is that how women get boobies?" NOOOOOOOO! ;)

Actually, my family lives about 30 - 45 minutes from me, so every Saturday, I go home to have lunch with my parents, then I take my brother out to do whatever he wants to do... I remember being 15 and not having a ride anywhere, so I made him a promise that every Saturday, I'd take him out to do whatever he wanted. But this time, it was all me... he wanted to go to the mall... I wanted to watch Iron Man. He didn't complain much.

Two pill form (one is like a freakin horse pill) and the other I have to put in a syringe to give to her, which I got all over me this morn when I tried to get it in there. I can't get over it. My wedding shoes only cost $100, and that's the most I ever spent on a pair of shoes, man was it hard handing over that $100 for a pair of shoes that I was only going to wear for one day! Also, they gave me blisters, I had to walk barefoot most of the time we were in Hawaii because of the blisters from my $100 shoes.

Are the $600 shoes really comfy? They have to be, otherwise, why? ;)

Oh I forgot.. how could I forget?. I got a very cute pr of black boots from my mom when she got home from FL. They are pretty sweet looking, and not too terribly high.

Good shoes, really good shoes, are worth the money.

When I buy dress shoes these days, I don't spend less than $50 on them.

With shoes, most of the time, you get what you pay for, and if you're on your feet all day, in heels--damned straight they're going to be comfy AND look good.

My feet are swollen (since I was born) because of my lymphoedema. I wear whatever cheap shoes I can get to fit, because I don't have as much feeling as everyone else. Screw shoes that make your feet hurt... I barely feel it, lol.

HC, when I was 16 I went to a bar downtown (bad Alty, fake ID, kids, don't try this!) my friend went to get the car while I waited on the corner. I'm standing there minding my own business when a car pulls up with two guys in their 20's. They yell "How much!" I said "It's midnight!", they yell "how much" again, I yell, "for what?" at which time it dawned on me what they meant. I was in jeans and a t-shirt for goodness sake!

After I explained to them how very wrong they were I realized that all the people standing around me on that corner were prostitutes. Oy, this is why they don't allow underage people in to bars! :)
