Oh yes...we can't forget about M! We need some protection in NY and I know all 3 of them are going to be our body guards right guys?!!

I'll bring my whip, we'll be okay.

Don't worry boys and girls, Alty will protect you! :D :p ;)

Are you boys going to help us shop? Sneezy, no shoes over $50. ;)

retsoksirhc
May 6, 2008, 08:44 AM
I don't know... I might turn into a pimp if I go to NY, lol.

There's a picture of me at prom with a bunch of girls, and I'm wearing a feather boa one of them put around my neck. We're all posed, and I'm in the middle.

Good times...

Alty
May 6, 2008, 08:48 AM
Resty, you so have to post that picture! :)

HistorianChick
May 6, 2008, 08:48 AM
Oh! Did you all see my pic of Zazzy? His "lion complex" shot? He's a cutie... :)

Alty
May 6, 2008, 09:21 AM
He sure is HC. :)

Sorry guys, I had an important phone call to take, it took longer then I thought.

Anyone still here, or did you all leave?

HistorianChick
May 6, 2008, 09:41 AM
Hey you - I'm still here...

My boss told me that the President personally requested me to write a new article for the Aug/Sept lead article... on Reading Comprehension and its importance to the development of a child...

Researching...

:)

Alty
May 6, 2008, 09:48 AM
I could help you with that research, sort of.

My son is 9 years old, he repeated Kindergarten because he just wasn't ready to move on to grade 1. He has been in speech therapy since he was five and is now in a special class for English and Math. He is finally up to a grade 2 reading level, he's in grade 3.

If you want to ask some questions about him and my daughter I'll answer if I can. I don't know exactly what you want to know for your article, but if you want to do some research on my kids (no needles ;)) I'm game.

Let me know.

Alty
May 6, 2008, 09:50 AM
Eeeek, look at the time. I've got to run guys, time to pick up princess Sydney.

I'll be back later.

BE GOOD! ;)

HistorianChick
May 6, 2008, 09:51 AM
Ooo... OK! Thanks! I'm not sure which direction I'm going to go yet... have to let it sink in for a bit and mull it over...

But thanks! I may be pm'ing you! :)

retsoksirhc
May 6, 2008, 10:19 AM
Lol alty, I'll see if I can find it. I know I got it in an email a while back.

SO guess who got a sexy new phone? :)

I got the sprint Katana II. I get a new phone every 2 years... they let you upgrade for free... thats how they catch you. A new 2 year contract.

Fortunately, I've had my contract for about 6 years... It's the bestest plan ever. 750 anytime minutes, free long distance, free nights and weekends starting at 8pm for $40/month. More like I caught THEM :)

And they gave me a free phone to stick with that... I paid $30 for a car charger and phone clip. Good ol sprint...

Anyway... I'm off to do some work at the amtrack station. Kiosk upgrades!

retsoksirhc
May 6, 2008, 01:07 PM
I see you all missed me dearly while I was gone, lol.

Good news, the amtrak kiosk now has upgraded capability! They can reboot it from wherever they sit in the office and monitor from... I think it's Colorado.

May 6, 2008, 04:02 PM
:) I could use a chick vacation... I haven't had one i a LONG time... I think I was in China the last time I had one!!! lol!! And it involved Inner Mongolia and strange Mongolian men yelling "How Much" in my general direction...

yeah... think on that one for a minute....

Ouch!. Nasty.:D

That made me laugh and brought back memories Guy. There is a town near me called RedCliff, and at my divorce party (lol) they played that song and everyone at the party sang "All my ex's live in RedCliff"... so now every time I hear that song I can't even think "Texas" anymore! LOL!

theguywithnolife

Is this the real life,
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy
I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go,
Little high, little low
Any way the wind blows
Doesn't really matter
To me, to me

Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life has just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, oooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on
As if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye, everybody
I've got to go
Got to leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, oooo
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all-(Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters)

I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
THUNDER BOLT AND LIGHTNING, VERY VERY FRIGHTNING ME!
Galileo
Galileo
Galileo
Galileo
Galileo, Figaro - magnifico
I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me
HE'S JUST A POOR BOY, FROM A POOR FAMILY
SPARE HIM HIS LIFE FROM THIS MONSTROSOTY
Easy come, easy go, will you let me go
Bismillah! NO! WE WILL NOT LET YOU GO!
LET HIM GO
Bismillah! WE WILL NOT LET YOU GO!
LET HIM GO!
Bismillah! We WILL NOT LET YOU GO!
LET HIM GO!
Will not let you go
Let me go
Will not let you go
Let me go
(never, never)
OHOHOHOH
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO
Oh, mama mia, mama mia
MAMA MIA LET ME GO
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me!
FOR ME!
For me...

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye!
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Ooh, baby
Can't do this to me baby
Just got to get out
Just got to get right out of here

Oh yeah, oh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters
Nothing really matters
To me

(Anyway the wind blows)

I really have to get my butt in gear, I mean I could stay here all day, and if I stay much longer my get up and go will get up and leave. Chicky that is GREAT for you! Big time CONGRATS! I meant to say it earlier before you were gone home for the day. Sorry we haven't had our early morn chats lately. I have been catching a nap at weird times of the day and night. Trying to deal with the things that happened with Niki, and legal issues again,. RAH!! and also trying to comfort her so she isn't so damaged by all of this... and then the normal daily stuff that needs to get done... well you know!

I did get a big thumbs up today from the company that contracted me to do the flowers for the show home, and they said they will send future contracts my way! :D So that's a huge bonus!

Morning Resty,

No coffee, how are you surviving? I always figured that people who go insane and start shooting people are the ones who went without coffee for an extended period. Coffee is my crutch, without it I might as well book a room in the looney bin. ;)

Lol HC

I agree that black is good... but I don't like the taste of the coffee we have at work black. I'm a big fan of my good ol can of folgers, no addatives. We've got some fancy stuff, in k-cups, here.

Morning Sneezy!

I have a house full of Sneezy's today, but not happy go lucky ones. The weather is gorgeous, I'm planning on continuing with my spring cleaning. The fam and I are supposed to go to a huge indoor garage sale tomorrow, it's a yearly event, but if we don't feel better we're going to have to miss it. Sunday is mother's day, wonder if I'll get anything. ;)

retsoksirhc
May 9, 2008, 07:35 AM
I'm sure it is. I went the day there was a launch scheduled, it was so cool to see them getting ready for it. We were in the space center when it was open late... it was a nighttime launch. Unfortunately, they called it off because the clouds were too thick, but when tehre is a launch they set up a whole viewing area. There's some bleachers and stuff, and they bring out a big TV on a truck, and have interviews and stuff. You could see the shuttle on the TV with the lights shining up on it, and you're about a mile away from the actual launchpad... you can see the lights shining up in the sky too. It's amazing.

One of these days I'm going to get down there when another launch is scheduled.

I think that when we are "young" God/nature is good to us; good bodies, cute/handsome, lots of energy, etc... but when we get somewhat older we receive the best yet; some wisdom and you can't complain about that. Maybe from all our experiences... but I think it is a gift.

Now some never do acquire this gift of wisdom (do you know some). And they are just plain stupid (sorry but true) and I had someone tell me that they could deal with anything except stupid.. "cause you can't even scrub stupid off no matter how had you try.":p

HEY!! Not all of them!!

Synnen
May 9, 2008, 02:57 PM
Nope. Not all of them.

Just a LOT of them.

Seriously... most girls under 25 have NO idea what they're looking for in a relationship. They want a "cute" guy, that they're sexually attracted to. They want a guy to do romantic stuff, but still be a guy in every way. They want him to live for her, and pay attention to her, and show his feelings and blah blah blah blah blah.

Then they're surprised when they're bored of this guy that they moulded into what they wanted, and break up with him, because he "just doesn't excite me anymore" and start dating a bad boy because he's exciting, but then he breaks her heart and she wants a sweet guy, but the sweet guys are boring---and yeah.

It's not all girls, but it's enough of them that I'm more annoyed by single 19-23 year olds than I am by a flock of 12-15 year olds.

ChihuahuaMomma

Alty
May 9, 2008, 04:15 PM
Ah, I see we are discussing age and stupidity.

Sneezy, younger girls like you because you're accessible, nice, cute (guessing here, haven't actually seen you), stylish and have an adorable dog. Older women like you because you're intelligent, kind, goal oriented, and you have an adorable dog. ;)

Women that fall into your age group are usually playing the field, looking for Mr. Right now, falling in and love at the drop of a hat, and not ready for a meaningful relationship. You strike me as the kind of guy that isn't looking for a fling, you're looking for something that has substance, meaning, not just a roll in the hay.

Personally, I say gravitate towards the older women, you're more likely to get what you're looking for. Perfect example, HC, she's 28, has a good head on her shoulders, has a wonderful career, is beautiful but not vain, and has an adorable cat. :)

Now I'm not saying all women in their early twenties aren't able to commit, just the majority, there are obviously exceptions, you would just have to dig deep to find one.

Morning all. Happy Mother's Day!

I'm getting the most wonderful gift, something that will make me and someone else extremely happy, we're rescuing another rabbit from the shelter today!

First of all, I know that I already have three rabbits, and three is a handful, but something I'm willing to do because I love these animals so much. We've been talking about a 4th for quite some time now, but the ones I've picked out have always been adopted before we had a chance to get everything together.

At the end of April, 203 rabbits arrived at the SPCA in Edmonton, all from one residence. Many had to be euthanized because they were in such poor health, some of these rabbits are now up for adoption. 203 rabbits is allot of rabbits, the chances of all of them being adopted is slim, this is the reason we are now getting another, if I can save just one of these lives then at least one more rabbit gets a chance. Make sense?

Anyway, that's my Mother's Day gift, and it's absolutely wonderful!

Had to share, hope everyone's doing well.

Is it just me or is Air travel making me more lightheaded. Last time I rememered they were flying at around 33,000 ft but on the past couple flights then be hitting up to 38,000 Ft. For some reason that extra 5,000 ft is really killing me

Her name is Kilala (once again I had no say in it, the kids named her). :) I'll post pictures once she settles down a bit more, enough for me to take her out of her cage, right now she's still a bit nervous.

She was one of the 203 rabbits that were removed from one home. The lady that owned them was letting them breed left right and centre, there were allot of baby bunny's up for adoption, we opted for Kilala because we know the babies will be adopted, the older bunny's often aren't. She's also spayed, so that's a big bonus. She's a real sweetie, loves to be held and petted, she's a great addition to our family.

Morning HC, how are you today? When's your big interview?

I fly out Saturday, have dinner with the college President and his wife on Saturday night, and the official campus tour/interview is all day Monday.

I'm getting nervous...

And still am wondering what I should wear for dinner with the President!!

Yeah... I know the feeling. I've been way too productive at work as of late... I think I'm trying to pre-compensate for leaving my company in a lurch if I do accept this new job...

Is there such a thing as "pre-compensate"?? I wonder... :)

LOL... So you still don't know if you are going to take it? I luuuvvv FL. I haven't been there for a couple yrs, but I stayed with my parents down there for 6 months one time, and I just didn't want to leave! I miss all of my friends from there too!

There sure are some awesome beaches around there. My parents live in Englewood, and my sis used to live in St. Petes.

Well I did say I would say talk about my "lack of a social life" today so here it goes

I loved Juneau. Like I serisouly loved it. The people the places the things you could do. Its like the perfect place to live. Too Big to walk but small enough to ride a bike. Everything and everyone was close. If I got bored I could walk to the movies, Walk to the Elementary school Playground. Ride to the glacier or screw around in the woods. Hell I could walk to my friend Dillons House and then walk to the movie in 7 minutes. 2 minute bike ride to the drug store for an energy drink and maybe 10 minute bike ride to blockbuster and the pizza place. PLUS the shows. The kids my age back there were rockers. We even had a band. Every weekend it seemed we would drive downtown to listen to the local bands and Mosh our hearts out. AND I LOVED THAT! Everyone was childish at heart and we weren't afraid to do stuff stoopid. Hell us guys even gave hugs to each others (yes, WARM MANLY HUGS) But here in the south its so different it almost kills me. Instead of Being so close I'm stuck in this little Development besides a highway. Yes you could say "oH guy obviously you could go play with kids here" What Play? All the kids here are in elementary school execpt for maybe 4-5 and I don't like their snoobish egotistic attitudeds. Even if I did like them What can we do? Everything here is construction. I ride my bike around the housing area. Back in juneau I COULD RIDE to downtown! And the kids here aren't even close. NO SHOws, no fun, and they take everything too seriouly. In J-town I could walk up to my big friend Paul and be like I love you man and we'd have a big man hug. Here I say I love you and your instanly judged as gay... the somewhat friends I do have here are always too busy or don't feel like doing stuff at home so ALAS, I'm at home every weekend

Oh Guy, that sucks. It's hard to make new friends, it's even harder to give up old friends. How long have you been living in Clarkville, how long since you moved there? Are there any places you can go, youth centres etc.

New places take some time to get used to, don't give up, try and get involved with something this summer, meet people with the same interests as you, let down your guard and just be yourself. You're a great guy, we all know that, let someone see what we see, they'll be hooked. :)

I wish I had a solid solution, sadly I don't, just keep your chin up, 15 is a tough age, remember, I've lived it. Trust me, compared to the problems I had at your age (mostly my own doing) you have it pretty good, I was trouble incarnate, there wasn't anything I wouldn't try, at least once, and I learned the hard way, if I learned at all. Stick it out, it will get better, just take my word for it. And hey, don't stop being you, because you are a great person! :)

Check with a temp agency. You may not get something permanent right away, but it's a GREAT way to network.
