Ah yes...

Me too...

I've researched the causes of World War I enough to make my brain explode. I'm through with it for the day! Now to translate what I've found onto paper... that is the hard part!

startover22
Mar 20, 2008, 01:16 PM
What did you find? LOL

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 01:21 PM
Oh please... don't make me bring work to my coffeeshop... rah...

Let me summarize:
1. Nationalism (the unification of Italy in 1861 and Germany in 1871, the Franco Prussian War of 1870-1871, French bitterness over loss of German territory)
2. Imperialism (increase of manufacturing as a result of the Industrial Revolution, Great Britain/Germany/France competing for African territory, the crumbling of the Ottoman Empire)
3. Bismarck and his Alliances (3 Emperor's League, Triple Alliance)
4. Collapse of aforementioned Alliances
5. The Arms Race (German Von Schieffen Plan)
6. African upheaval (and ensuing German support of Morroccan independence)
7. Bosnia and Morrocco -the balkan Wars (192-1913)
8. The Assassination in Sarejevo - June 28, 1914

Declaration of War July 28, 1914

Just to name a few... :)

Sneezy, I'm going to need more than a coffee after that... ;)

startover22

Know what MY answer to that would be?

THESE people had some stuff. THOSE people wanted that stuff. THOSE people said "Give it to us!" and THESE people said, "Oh yeah? We worked hard for this! You come take it!" So THOSE people did.

You know, I like that answer SO much better! Wonder if my editors would approve?

My life would be a whole lot better if they did...

An hour to my weekend... yesssss...

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 01:41 PM
Actually, I'd love to take a Road Trip!

But alas, I'll probably end up spending a lot of time, whiling away in my tub with a glass of wine, a good book, and an intent on just relaxing. My Mom is coming this weekend, so we'll get some girl time in.

Other than that? Star Wars, the trilogy (4-6, that is. 1-3 don't count!)

startover22
Mar 20, 2008, 01:47 PM
I hope you get your road trip in and I think it should be an all weekender, that would be something wouldn't it? :) Have a great weekend HChicky, enjoy your mom! Give her lots a love...

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 01:49 PM
:) thanks! I will!

Something funny about Mum...

She's been at her parents for a week and a half - long story, my Grandfather's Alzheimers is getting worse, but I digress... I called her the other morning and before I could even say hello she said "I WANT COFFEE!!!!!" I guess I come by it naturally! :D

I love my Mum. :)

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 02:13 PM
Can I suggest a shot of hazelnut in your vanilla latte? Some adore the taste. I, myself, am a fan of the One pump vanilla, one pump hazelnut latte :)

topladyj
Mar 20, 2008, 02:17 PM
Wow I have never tried it with hazelnut good idea! I will take one please, to bad I can't really have it. Now I am craving it. Lol

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 02:18 PM
:) Mwah-ha-ha!

If you don't like it too sweet, make sure you tell them one pump of each. Normally they put about three pumps of a flavor and sometimes if you ask for two flavors, you'll end up with at butt-load of syrup.

The White Chocolate Mocha is good this way too... :)

103 pages and counting. Man can we gals, and guys, gab.

Sorry all, I took a little nap this afternoon, I needed it. Unlike Sneezy I need at least 8 hours a night otherwise I'm not a pleasant Alty.

HChicky, I'm sorry I missed you, if you come back later than Happy Easter and have a great weekend with your mom.

ISneezeFunny
Mar 20, 2008, 05:00 PM
... it's Easter weekend?

... dibs on alty's bunnies! Wait... what do I do with these bunnies..

I never understood the whole Easter thing... nor have I ever done anything different on Easter. I know there's a lot of egg hunts... the kids in my apartment complex usually hide chocolate near the bushes + trees and then my dog finds them. It's quite a rush.

... damn. As I was typing at a nearby computer (in the library), some woman just walked into my study room and just situated herself there.. . seeing as all of my things are currently with me and NOT in the study room, now it's hers. Damn it all to hell. Gar.

... where to study... where to study...

Shall I be pulling another all nighter tonight? Possibly. It's up to HChicky. Exam at 830 in the morn. Chugga chugga.

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 05:17 PM
Aww Sneezy, I'd bring you coffee to help you study, then leave a kiss or two to keep you awake! :) Consider yourself SMOOCHED! Study heard, sweetie!

Sorry I missed you Alty - I'll check back sometime during the weekend and see how y'all are faring. Much love! :)

Happy Easter all!!

HC that pimply teenager is looking over your shoulder.

Tell me you didn't look :-)

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 05:33 PM

I'm well thanks , 11.30am Friday morning. Just sitting at home doing my chores etc.

Have a great weekend with your Mum. BTW you left your Yahoo on again :-)

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 05:39 PM
Ooohhh... crud... That means I'm going to have a bunch of spam windows open when I get back to work. Darn it...

Did a window from me pop up when you signed in yesterday? ;)

Darn it - wonder if I sign in here if it would sign me out there...

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 05:44 PM
Ahh... OK, so winks don't work unless the user is online. S'ok, you just missed a wink. I'll get you some other time.

Stink, this computer doesn't have Yahoo and I'd have to download it... they tend to frown on that...

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 05:46 PM
Nope, no luck. The apt complex must have some kind of block on downloading things... which, when you really think about the traffic at this computer, is a good thing!

I came up once to check something and the pimply teenager wasn't playing Solitaire!

friend4u178
Mar 20, 2008, 05:47 PM
Bugger missed a wink , that's OK , still have the other thing you sent last week , I'll just have to keep replaying that ;-)

HistorianChick

HistorianChick
Mar 20, 2008, 05:52 PM

::nudge::

Me: huh? What?
Girl: hi... um... sorry to wake you up... but...
Me: I'm sorry. I fell asleep? Holy cow. What time is it?

::looks at watch::

Me: whew. OK. I thought I lost a lot of time.
Girl: you look... tired.
Me: thanks... for that. And thanks... for waking me up.
Girl: yeah...
Me: did you need something?
Girl: well... I was wondering if... well...
Me:... yes?
Girl: I was wondering if you could help me...
Me: sure... what's up?
Girl: well... you were making some noises while you were sleeping... I think you were talking in your sleep... it wasn't loud... more like small whispers and grumblings... but yeah...
Me: Oh, I'm so sorry. Um... just out of curiosity, what was I talking about... could you hear?
Girl: something about motor sensory neurons + DHP receptors...

... damn.

Alty
Mar 20, 2008, 07:22 PM
Sneezy, you need some sleep, seriously. ;)

I don't know what just hit me, but I just spent the last 15 minutes throwing up, it wasn't fun. Now I've got the shivers. What the heck, I just had the flu a few weeks back, I'm not ready to start it all over again.:(

Going to go watch a movie with the kids, then I've hitting the sack, I've got to get rid of whatever this is. Ugh.

Night all, behave while I'm gone, or else.

Declaration of my love for HChicky:

So. Every time I go to sbucks, I'm usually a venti hazelnut coffee or a venti 5-shooter or a venti triple shooter white mocha kind of guy.

After much thought, this morning, I went into the local sbucks and I asked for HChicky's concoction:

One pump vanilla, one pump hazelnut latte

I get it. I'm a fan. I'm sitting there around 730 studying for my midterm at 830...

Around 810, the barista comes up to me. This is the convo:

Barista: We have to name this drink something...
Me: Sorry?
Barista: the one pump hazelnut + one pump vanilla latte. We have to name it.
Me: OK?
Barista: I just tried it. It's REALLY good. I don't think anyone's ever asked for it like this.
Me: Yeah, it's my first time trying it. I like it.
Barista: can we name it... the sneezy?
Me: no. you can't call it my name. It's lame.
Barista: what do you want to call it?
Me:... we'll call it... the historian.

That's right HChicky. My local sbucks has a drink named after you. Revel in your glory.

Not sure if this trend'll ever spread... as the only two people that are calling it the historian are the barista and myself, but if you ever come by the atl, we can go into the local sbucks and try out the historian. ;)

Awww, Sneezy that's so sweet.

I'm still feeling a bit queasy today, tummy isn't happy and I don't know why. I was feeling fine all day yesterday and it just hit me, like a ton of bricks. Well, Pepto Bismol is my best friend right now, I wonder how it would taste in coffee.

HChicky, I'm so glad that you're on line. I wanted to wish you a very happy Easter, have fun with your Mom.

Hey guys, spring is really here, I just saw a flock of crows outside my window. Hey, get away from the garbage can, don't make me get the hose out. Shoo, shoo.

I have to do Easter Bunny shopping today. Even though my son no longer believes in the Easter Bunny he's been really good about keeping the myth alive for my daughter. He's such a sweetie, I don't know how I got so lucky.

Oh, sad story. I like sugar in my coffee, my husband bought a huge box of sugar, it comes in the little packages, just like in a restaurant. Well, I'm a bit out of it this morning so I wasn't paying attention when I was adding my sugar. Apparently I accidentally dropped one of the packs into my coffee. Yuck, okay, okay, I'm awake now!

HistorianChick

I am so out of it that I forgot to push the dang button on the washer to actually start it.
AND, I can't make my bed cause my big ole lazy cat is sleeping on it, I refuse to stop her heaven.
I do have to rave a little though, last night I was talking to Davy, she is 11 and I told her if there was one thing I wanted, I would like to sleep tomorrow no extra kids coming so I thought it maybe could happen, she woke up showered, got her little brother dressed, made eggs for him before they had to catch the bus, and before I knewit, she is yelling Jett, go give mom a kiss goodbye we have to go...
IS SHE THE BEST DAUGHTER IN THE WHOLE WORLD OR WHAT??
Yes, yes she is!:)

Alty
Mar 21, 2008, 11:16 AM
That's so sweet.

Yesterday, when I wasn't feeling good, my son told me to sit on the couch, he got me a blanket and a glass of water, and then he and my daughter performed a little play that they had made up. Priceless, best theatre I've seen in a long time.

Aren't kids amazing?

startover22
Mar 21, 2008, 11:19 AM

I got a nice little puppet show last night, it was cute but I had to ask a lot of questions to get them going! LOL

Alty
Mar 21, 2008, 11:22 AM
It's better to just nod and pretend that you know what's going on. Sometimes the explanations take longer than the play.:D

Here is a good one...
I was in the shower and little Maxy (4) was watching Nick Jr...
I came out and he says "Mom, do you wanna get some cash to simplify your bills?"
I was laughing so hard, especially he told me I had to sit down and watch for the commercial he got it from... LOL
AND he knows if I am sitting at the table all he has to do is sneak under there and touch my ankles... I go crazy!! He likes that!

Alty
Mar 21, 2008, 11:40 AM

I'm so tired today, my old dog had another barking fit last night, that little stinker, I couldn't sleep until 3am.

Alty
Mar 21, 2008, 02:57 PM
Yikes, my son has turned on me. Now he's really cranky. He wants me to print something off the computer for him, but I'm out of ink. He insists that he needs this, I'm out of ink, but really, it's important. Really, I'm out of INK! Kids!

Alty
Mar 21, 2008, 03:06 PM
I don't know if I can handle exciting, I'd settle for mediocre right now.

Not again, one of the bunnies is gassy again. Which one of you did it, Hmmm, come on fess up. Stinky Bunny butts, yikes.:(

Ya, going to have another coffee, unless I have beer, then I'm going to have on of those.:D

LMAO... naughty bunnies , get the whip out Alty

Alty
Mar 21, 2008, 03:17 PM
Oh, I don't whip the bunnies, only naughty men who richly deserve it. Nope, bunnies get hugs and cuddles, not the whip.

I just answered a post from a girl wanting to know if she could get pregnant if her boyfriend pulled out. Hmmm, let's see, there are anywhere between 40 million and 600 million sperm each time a man ejaculates, all it takes is one. Hmm, let me think. If I had a gun with 40 million bullets and only one empty slot, would I put it to my head and pull the trigger? That's a hard one. I'm getting a bit defensive now, why do I answer those posts?

Beer, I have Beer, yes, beer has come to save the day!:D

friend4u178
Mar 21, 2008, 03:20 PM
Yeah I know , I stay away from those posts. Its so much nicer to go read some jokes :-)

Beer , now that sounds good.

Alty
Mar 21, 2008, 03:26 PM
Beer is good, actually it's great. I live in Canada, we're know for our beer, oh and hockey.

Love the jokes, but for seem reason I can't stop posting on the "I had unprotected sex, could I be pregnant" threads. If I said what I really wanted to I'd be kicked of this site.

Ah, Beer, love it.

Sneezy, I've seen that before, it's hilarious. Yep, Canadians don't get allot of sun, and we're not exhibitionists. Go figure. Germans on the other hand, don't get me started. Did I mention that I'm German, I just live in Canada. Not saying another word. Nope, my lips are sealed.

Hey F4U, where did you go?

Bad F4U, now I'm craving breakfast foods and it's 5pm here. Mmmm Bacon, Canadian Bacon? I guess not huh. How are you making the eggs, I like them sunny side up. Mmmm fresh bread rolls. You naughty boy, now I am getting my whip out. Scared?:p

Boys, I've got to go cook some dinner for the family, I'll talk to you all later. Be good, stay out of trouble, or I'll tell HChicky!

Whew... beer... count me in.

Ladies and gents... it's been one heck of a week. You want me to recap it for you?!

OK... fine. You've forced my arm.

- 3 midterms. 1 postponed. Overall slept something along the lines of 16 some odd hours this entire week.

- lost a bit on bear stearns. Am I upset... slightly. I'm more upset that I lost my mojo and have stopped trading for the past week. That loss crippled me. My friends are in worse positions... they're junior analysts for bs and they know they're canned within the next 2 - 3 months. Here's the worst part... they make about 70 - 100k as junior analysts... so they live in nice @ss condos in New York... now that they're about to lose their jobs... and their lease doesn't end for a while...

- worked. A lot.

- I got nothing. I'm done. I'm with alty.

I'm grabbing a beer, cleaning my apartment, cooking dinner, and watching a movie. I'm not going out tonight. Not tonight.

Alty
Mar 21, 2008, 06:26 PM
Aww Sneezy, I'm sorry, hope you feel better. Cheers.

F4U, I'm jealous. Want to know what I had for breakfast? Cereal, froot loops to be exact. Ah, the breakfast of champions, NOT!

Another beer for Alty, you're right Sneezy, it's been that kind of day.

Well, I give up, I'm going to have a snack and play a board game with the kids. Back later.

I missed everyone, you're all off line.

Sneezy, sorry that your plans were thwarted by your friends, maybe next weekend. Do you have enough clean underwear to last the week?

HChicky, I'm glad you're having fun with your mom, is she getting a Historian too? Sorry I missed you, I got to sleep in. Ahhhh!

Were's Starty? Synn is MIA and F4U is probably asleep. What about IHate, anyone seen him? Hmmm, my timing sucks.

Synn went home from work sick yesterday morning about 11 am, and she's been too sick to get to the computer since then.

I've slept like 18 of the last 24 hours. (sorry, Sneezy--not rubbing it in, I just literally crashed that hard with the Crud that's going around).

It's STILL snowing here---been snowing for well over 24 hours now. We have at least 10 inches on the ground.

First full day of spring in Minnesota, and it drops this icky white stuff on us.

Alty
Mar 22, 2008, 09:42 AM
Oh Synn, I'm sorry to hear that you're still feeling so poorly. Get plenty of rest, drink lots of orange juice, water, chicken noodle soup, sorry it's the mom in me, should I tuck you in and read you a story?;)

Okay, let's pour some salt in the wound, the snow here is almost all gone. I can see my dead grass, the Canadian geese are coming home and a murder of crows was picking at my garbage can yesterday. I'm optimistic that spring is here to stay, but, as all Canadians know all to well, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute, we could well have a blizzard tonight that dumps 2 feet of snow on our heads. Holding my breath.

Well all, I've got to run, doing laundry, cleaning house and going for a walk with the kids and the dogs.

Type at you all later, have a great day, and Synn, get well soon sweetie!

Alty out.

Mar 23, 2008, 09:30 AM
Oh Allheart, you finally joined us, I'm so glad.

I had to carry 2 raw eggs around for 2 weeks in grade 12 for religion. We were paired up, given a budget, told to figure out one years worth of bills etc and take care of our eggs for two weeks.

I got unlucky, had twins, yup two bouncing little Eggberts. My "husband" was a druggy that never came to school, he did absolutely nothing for the assignment and never once took care of the twins. On the last day of the project he came to class , went to the table were all the eggs that had survived where displayed and said to the group of them "Oh, were is Daddy's baby, I've missed you", in front of the teacher. Little did he know that as part of the assignment we had the option of divorce. I walked up to him calmly, said "I bet you can't even tell me which ones belong to you, oh, by the way, I want a divorce, consider yourself served!" I got 100% on the assignment, he failed. Revenge may be bad, but it sure felt good. I wonder if he ever changed his ways?

I really am a bad girl!

Nope. Came in. got a list of things to do... apparently, the tech that got fired last week just created mayhem (reason he got fired) and we're backlogged. I don't think I'm even getting out of here by 6pm. Damn him.

Afternoon all. I see that all is going well in the single's bar, I mean coffee shop. :D

I just got up. The kids don't have school today so Hubby and I stayed up late last night, I got to sleep in, which is good. I indulged in a bit too much wine last night. Dry mouth, YUCK!

It looks like us girls have tons in common. On a day to day basis I'm a comfy clothes kind of girl, but when we go somewhere fancy, watch out, I can be a hotty when I want to, even at 37 years old.;)

I just need to loose a bit of weight right now. As you all know I had a very terrible miscarriage 2 years ago, lost the baby at 3 months, but didn't loose the weight I gained, still haven't. I also have a thyroid problem, so it's hard to loose that weight. Going to do it this year if it kills me, I want to be able to wear my short, shorts in the summer. Oh, and it's time to bring the bikini out of hiding too. Hip hop abs, here I come.:)

I need it real real real real bad, I am not going to be able to go on.
Alty, after all the kids I have a little tummy, it kills my back to do sit ups, so I found Yoga to really help. And nice long walks, we have great lush forrests here so I get to endulge in that any time I want to. The kids go more often thatn me, it kind of takes a bit to get me to do anything other than what is on my plate right now, but when I do go, IT FEELS LIKE HEAVEN! Move more than you eat and make a conscious effort, I think it is the hardest simple thing I have ever done! LOL

You may become the creepy person at work, but they'll leave you alone... and from then on you'll just have to mutter to yourself every now and then in front of people so they keep believing that you're a psycho. And thus... all your problems at work are solved. No need to thank me.

Starty - Try a bubbly clear soda. Like Soda water. No sugar added. The bubbles will work the stain out, pour it on and let it sit for around five minutes, then gently dab it up, repeat as necessary. Afterwards try putting a bit of watered down vinegar on it, that will help get rid of the smell. My daughter once left her milk filled sippy cup in the car for
4 weeks, it exploded and YUCK! I couldn't find the source of the smell, the cup had rolled under the seat and wasn't visible. I had to take the seat out, and almost vomited, that smell was rotten. The soda water and vinegar did the trick. Try it and let me know.

All right, my friends, I suppose I could ask this over in Relationships, but I trust you all...

An ex (my friends know him as "crazy-stalker-guy") has recently begun a new series of "contacts." Backstory - he's the one that necessitated my need for not only a new phone number, but also a new phone, new provider, AND new number, blocked myspace/facebook, etc. He's also the one that I went to the police, sat in the station with a big, burly cop, and sent the following text - "By sending this text, i am telling you to never contact me again, or I will be forced to take out a warrant for your arrest for harrassing me and be forced to contact your superior officers about this matter." (yup, it was that bad)

He's sent myspace messages "You don't even want to be friends any more?" "why won't you talk to me" and random "Hi"s on msn and Yahoo.

Ok, this threat of restraining order was sent on Wed. Dec 19. There has been no contact whatsoever until last week.

I've been ignoring it, but sheesh - what do I do now? Its harmless little things, but I did say I would do such and such if he contacted me again...

Do I keep ignoring it? When does this stupid cycle stop?

Sneezy? Westy? Any wisdom here? Why would a guy do this? I mean, seriously, I'm not all that!

Just wondering what your take would be... maybe I should post this over in Relationships... I don't know...

Crud... another Coke gone. Sad. That's 3 people.

ISneezeFunny
Mar 24, 2008, 02:08 PM
Um... well that's just plain crazy. USUALLY... when a girl stops answering my calls, I usually back off... but if a girl says, "Stop contacting me..." that's usually a clear "leave me alone"

I'd wait it out a little bit to see if he'll stop... but if he continues, I'd reply with:

I have a new boyfriend now... and he doesn't appreciate you contacting me.

HistorianChick
Mar 24, 2008, 02:12 PM
See! That's the thing! You'd think he'd get the hint - actually, it wasn't a hint. I had told him several times to stop contacting me... getting the police involved happened after he threatened leaving something in my Mom's mailbox and 22 calls in 4 minutes at 3 am, horrible texts, threats, etc...

Its past, its over, its done. It just really gets me bothered that he still thinks he can just contact me like that...

Everything in me rebells at the thought of answering these latest emails and "contacts." But, if it comes down to it, I will use take your advice, thanks Sneezy.

I need a Historian.

ihatewestseneca
Mar 24, 2008, 02:13 PM
If its just harmless "hi's" on MSN, then I would say just ignore it... after awhile he's bound to take the hint. But if he does anything to make you feel uncomfortable, or harassed, then call the 5-0 (or me). And maybe you are all that.

Maybe to him you were everything... I don't know a thing about what kind of relationship you had with this guy, but you definitely made an impact.

Its hard to say... it could be harmless, but he could also just be batsh!t crazy like your friends say.

P.S. isn't that the most depressing thing... when you think you have at least something in your can of Coke; then when you pick it up, its empty... *sigh*

HistorianChick

Thanks Westy...

Our relationship was that "everything" type of relationship. It was long-distance half of it, he was in Iraq, then stationed elsewhere. That's what gets me, he was my Lifehouse Everything.

Its over, it was for the best, he's moved on - a month after we split up he texted me to let me know he was engaged - it's a mess.

Anyway... thanks for your answers. Yes, I am ignoring it. It just gets me bothered.

Mar 24, 2008, 02:48 PM
HChicky, I know I'm a bit late, but I'm going to chime in on your problem.

If a man acts like a child then you have to treat him like one. Number one way to deal with a child that is acting up is to warn him that there will be consequences if his behavior doesn't stop. If the behavior continues then you have to carry out your threat, otherwise he realizes that he can do what he wants and you aren't going to do anything about it.

My thoughts on this; you told him to stop contacting you, warned him that any further contact would result in police involvement. Now he's contacted you again, I think that you should carry out your threat. Do not contact him whatsoever, that's exactly what he wants, but do carry out your threat. Show him that you mean business, and that when you say something you mean it. If you don't, I'm afraid that you will be getting further contact from him, he won't give up until he gets that swift kick in the rear.

Now remember, this is me giving the advice, I always shoot first and ask questions later, but I have been where you are now, I've dealt with the obsessive boyfriend (okay it was 21 years ago, but still) and I didn't follow through with any of my threats. What did I get out of it, a scar on my forehead and a restraining order that was a little to late.

Take care of yourself sweetie, I'm worried.

HistorianChick
Mar 24, 2008, 03:03 PM
Thank you, Alty. I understand exactly what you are saying. I'm very slow to take action when it comes to my own protection... it took me two full months of putting up with the psychological stuff before I actually went to the police. And you know what was the deal breaker? He threatened my Mom. That was it. That's all it took for me. I mean, I'll deal with it all if you leave my friends and family alone.

I don't know what I'm going to do about it. The first contact was a harmless "hello" on Yahoo about two weeks ago. I ignored it. Then it went to a myspace message more detailed - basically, "what, we can't even be friends anymore?" and telling me about his life, house, dog, and fiancee'. An email telling me he just wanted to be friends. Then over the weekend I left my msn messenger signed in... came in to another "hi".

Like Sneezy said, he has a fiancee' he shouldn't be contacting the ex... that's just simlicity. On top of that, you add the fact of the restraining order and police action and you just have an idiot.

How much of this is my own female reactions though?

Thank you for your concern. I had a guy friend of mine call him back in December to tell him to leave me alone, may have to do that again. But like you said, I don't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing it has gotten to me.

Is that bad? Is that "playing the game" right back? Rah... I just wish he'd let me be. All this does is bring up the past, how good we were, how bad we ended up, all that unnecessary stuff I thought was gone.

Coffee... I need me some coffee... and a date. Someone want to take me out for tacos and pool? Lol...

ISneezeFunny
Mar 24, 2008, 03:07 PM
Well, I am pondering the choices you may have...

1) go straight to the police... if you have a TRO against him, then he just plain can't contact you.

2) ignore him completely. This MIGHT work... or it might not. Again, I have no idea who this clown is... but if you ignore it, he may leave you alone... for the time being.

3) just get someone to kick his teeth in.

Option three looks like a job for Sneezy and Westy. How about it boys, will you fight for HChicky's love?

Kidding.

HChicky - Where there is smoke there is fire. If you feel uncomfortable with the fact that he's contacting you then you have to act. Always go with your gut sweetie.

Now, you know this guy better than we do, and the fact that you are worried means that you have reason to be. Go to the police sweetie, even if they don't do anything at least there will be record of your visit.

He is harassing you, even though he isn't saying anything threatening, yet.

You've told him point blank, with no wiggle room, that you NEVER want to hear from him again. He obviously thinks he can do whatever he wants. My concern is, what will he want tomorrow, or next week?

Ignoring him is the best course of action, but it should be paired with reporting him. He's not going to give up until he get's to you. It will only get worse from here. Been there done that, paid the price. But at least I got away with my life. Don't take a chance Sweetie, really, it's not worth it.

I know we are all concerned about this. I hope I didn't scare you even more than you already are, but I really feel that you have to nip this in the bud right now. Don't let him believe he's winning, otherwise he'll continue to play his little game.

Sorry, being the Mom again, giving motherly advice. Now do it young lady or you're going to your room.;)

If it was bad enough that you had to get a restraining order to begin with, it WILL just escalate again.

You all are priceless. Seriously, you are simply priceless. Not in the humorous sense of the word, but the not-able-to-describe-how-precious you all are.

I didn't take out a restraining order, I made an official report (twice) and then went back to the cops and sat with the police as he dictated what I should say - that was the text when I said I would take out a restraining order and contact his superior officers. So, yes, even though I didn't officially take out the order, he has been reported on two separate occasions and I have the business card of the big, burly cop who helped me. And yes, you're right Synn, he was bad enough before for me to take action, what makes me think he would be any different now. Never did I ever dream I'd ever be in this situation.

I will take all of the contacts and go back to the policeman who helped me before. If nothing else, to file yet another report.

Thank you, again, for your support and rational opinions.

And for us coffee lovers;

Eyes show weariness
The curse of the light sleeper
Coffee fills the void
