We have lived in the same house for 14 years and the fences were there when we moved in. There were all new houses and the neighbors put up their fences and we didn't have to put a fence because they were there other than the gates on both sides, that are ours and we put up.
The house to our right is owned by a "corporation" that is always renting it out and all that we meet are the people that rent the house fro them. Several years ago a couple of panels from the fence were falling down, and after many letters to the HOA and to the owners (corporation), they finally "fixed" it. We also purchased a couple of 2x4 and put them there to avoid it falling over. The fence was not completely fixed, but "patched".
The problem now is that the fence is completely gone in portions of 3-4 feet and 2-3 feet along the side, and our dog goes over and "visits" their backyard and poops on their side.
They have already told my daughter for her to go and pickup the poops from our dog.
I don't think that we should be picking it up, since if there was a fence, he wouldn't be visiting them.
Can anyone give me some advise on how to handle this? We don't have the money to fix the fence, and don't think that it is our responsibility to fix it since its theirs, but I might be wrong.
Thanks.
