Hugs sweet Al. We were up late last night.
Tuscany, Johnny wants the "paper money because it's the real kind Mom."
The going rate here is about $5 per tooth. Hubby is crazy about rewarding them if they pull it themselves.
hehehhehehe was he trying to ride loulou again lol
Oh, jeeze, I forgot about that one. He got a swat on the bum for that. He can ride Kimmie, but not Lou Lou.

Jun 30, 2007, 05:22 PM
Joe they usually don't start losing them until around 4 or 5. I have on with 7 teeth now and the boy only has two... They're already trying to walk!! At ten months...
Now where was the tooth fairy when I was sitting in the dentist chair last Monday?? It took eight shots 5 forceps and 15 minutes for the dr to pull the first tooth... The dr is about 6'4" and about 300lbs... I want my tooth fairy monies...
JoeCanada76
Jun 30, 2007, 05:27 PM
Oh Myth, You deserve 300 dollars for that tooth. Wow, big scary dentist and lots of meds.
I can not imagine the pain the little one is going through having them break through for the first time.
Already trying to walk at 10 months, they are going to get into everything.
I have been loading up little joshua with tylenol, and natural teething solution for night time only. Helps the little guy sleep.
Hope all is well with everybody.
Joe
alkalineangel
Jun 30, 2007, 05:59 PM
Oh... I remember teething. Have you tried Hylands? Worked well for COnnor. He hated the orajel crap.
JoeCanada76
Jun 30, 2007, 06:50 PM
I never even tried the orajel.
Hylands I used at the beginning. Tried to get it again but could not. I get camillia and it has the same ingredients as hylands and natural. We use that with the tylenol. It definitely helps.
I feel very wary about that orajel stuff, never tried it on joshua because the people we knew recommended the natural way, plus they knew we did not want to use too much stuff.
Thank you al. I here it works for a lot of people and it does for Joshua as well.
Joe
alkalineangel
Jun 30, 2007, 07:02 PM
Yeah, I'm definitely up for mor natural stuff. I am not a fan of using medicines if I can help it. I am even leary of tylenol.. lol.
Its quiet here tonight. Im stuck at my parent in laws until Thomas tomorrow. E-town isn't the best place for fun.. lol.

No wonder lou don't get any sleep honey, you stay up too late... Do you have a hard time falling asleep or is this just your "quiet" time?
JoeCanada76
Jun 30, 2007, 11:02 PM
Well tonight there was a different reason. Spent some quality time with the wife and watched a movie. It was a three hour movie. It was 12:30 am by the time it was over. Then Joshua was in a weird sleeping position so I ended up waking him up, we figured he would be up in a couple of hours anyway. This way get him fed more and changed and maybe he will sleep more. It is 2 am, not sure if he is a sleep yet but I do not want to go in right now, because if he is sleeping my luck I would be waking him up.
Me, Never ever slept good. 3 or 4 hours top. On the weekends, I tend to stay up later in the morning. My wife especially needs her sleep or you know what happens. Lol
I on the other hand have always lived off the minimum. So if I am awake anyway, get some TV and computer time in.
startover22
Jun 30, 2007, 11:08 PM
Heck Joe, I would have been dead long ago if I had your sleeping regimen. In the other post I asked you about a church. It is called the Vineyard. Their motto is "come as you are" I went to church 5 years ago in Alaska and I really enjoyed that one. I think I might have found one in this area... Haven't gone in years so I wanted to check it out.
JoeCanada76
Jun 30, 2007, 11:10 PM
Pretty cool, does not hurt to check it out. That is an excellent motto, come as you are.
Too many churches are about dressing up all nice and not excepting people who are different or etc...
I should check this one out. I doubt we would have any in my area. Sounds like you had a really good experience their. What were the services like?
startover22
Jun 30, 2007, 11:16 PM
Mostly singing and listening to life stories, from a lot of different people not just the preachers sermon, you know... I really did enjoy it. I am a little intimidated to go back, then I am making that step again... I will though. My daughter like going and I have told her we will find somewhere to go. Anyhow I won't go back unless I am completely satisfied... It is a very small one so I know they are just getting started, they get bigger as they grow and more people come and help out. Lot's of volunteering opportunities... The kids and I could use that for sure. Did I tell you Dustin took 7 children on his boat to go on the tube today?? He is such a nut.. I went but stayed off the boat and started a great book.
JoeCanada76
Jun 30, 2007, 11:20 PM
7 children on his boat. Wow. You love reading? Excellent time for everybody.
EDIT::::::::::::
Church just starting, that is good. Everybody learns and grows together. See the only time I would go to church is if it was with family if not, I did not like going myself.
Some churches that I have been to teach nothing and it is the same each week. Then there is always others where there have been times where there was lots of laughing and joking and had a great ole time.
Hope you find what your looking for.
startover22
Jun 30, 2007, 11:24 PM
It was the most beautiful day to be by the water. The foster boys had never been on a boat and they loved every second of it. Dustin was a hero today. He isout in the trailer sleeping with all the kids in our drive way. 6 kids and a big ole teddy bear are sleeping in my driveway. I am LMAO right now. I am tired, I am reading Open Mind right now. I am astonished and just 9 pages into it.
JoeCanada76
Jun 30, 2007, 11:34 PM
Lmasof, that is so cool camping out. The boys must be having such a good time. It is good they have that.
Open Mind, what is it about?
I am tired too but so many things to do. Lol
startover22
Jun 30, 2007, 11:39 PM
It is about teaching us how to have an open mind for other things to enter. New perspectives of old landscapes. I guess that is a great way to put it. I will send it to you after every single person in my family has read it. Hard headedness runs straight through both Dustin and my family. LOL

Ha you guys have scary bugs thank goodness our country is so much cooler and we don't have them here only in the zoo's anyway.
That's one thing I liked about Alaska... the only bugs were flies (and they were real slow cause it was so cold, so killing them was easy) and mosquitoes. Now they are mosquitoes like I have never seen before!

My dad was a gandy-dancer in Alaska during the 50s when the oil pipes were being built. He said he has never seen mosquitoes as large as they are in Alaska. I guess only the strong bugs survive there.

I have to say, too, that I'm really getting sick of people deciding that all teenagers should choose adoption for their babies. Grrrrr... it just makes me angry! They only see the good parts of adoption, not the horror stories, or the trauma and counseling people have to go through for years!
startover22
Jul 2, 2007, 11:26 AM
I know what you are saying, I know many girls who have had abortions and opted to adopt their bay out to loving homes and the few that chose to keep their babies. Jul 2, 2007, 11:31 AM
Oh, I know it needs to be about the child. I just get frustrated at the people just blithely throwing the suggestion out that as if that's the best case scenario every single time.
It's like automatically throwing "Oh, you can always adopt" at an infertile couple. Or "He's in a better place" when someone dies. It's like... these pat answers that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the situation at hand, or the very real people involved, and it always just seems terribly insensitive to me.

Bye for now.
Synn, let me ask you... What is wrong with saying "he's in a better place?" Not to start a real discussion here, but that is exactly where my father is. Watching him suffer terribly those last few weeks was horrendous.
I used to think it was terrible to say that sort of thing, or... "it was a blessing" That was until I saw it happen with my own eyes to someone who I loved and looked up to. He was my hero. Now he is in a better place because, no matter where that place is, he is not suffering any longer.
Synnen
Jul 2, 2007, 12:02 PM
Actually... I think it is ENTIRELY appropriate in SOME cases. My grandmother died from Alzheimer's (or rather, complications relating to it), and it WAS a blessing, and a relief when she died, and she was definitely in a better place.
What I object to is people using those phrases as stock answers, regardless the circumstances. While it may be true that a person is in a better place after death... what parent wants to hear that of their young child?
Same thing with the other situations. While in some (and perhaps MANY) of the situations, those answers work well, in some cases it just rubs wrong.
I'm just crabby today, and it's a touchy subject for me. Don't mind me. I just needed to rant for a minute. I'm better now. No... really... you can put the straightjacket away... ahhhhhhhh

It is an amazing lifestyle. I have a lot of respect for such devoted people and hard workers.

I have this week off, Monday was Canada day holiday.
The rest of the week, they are shut down for regular maintnance and other stuff.
They shut down Canada for a whole week for maintenance? Wow! I wish we could shut down America for about a whole month. We got some serious maintenance to do!

J, I knew you were an estrogen fueled rollercoaster ride from hell right from the beginning. So are you just now trying to get a grip on it? If so, I think that is very nice. For your poor husband that is.

10. Men are like Popcorn.. They satisfy you, but only for a little while.
11. Men are like Snowstorms... You never know when they're coming, how many inches you'll get or how long it will last.
12. Men are like... Lava Lamps... Fun to look at, but not very bright.
