Hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. I am wondering where I should start. When a woman leaves her home for 4 days, it seems weird to come back. I left my husband home, he straightened up, but oh well. I uess the bottom line is, I am going to clean, clean, clean, today! Had a great time with my dad and all the kids had a great time too. Good trip, this one! See you soon. Welcome Bubbler!

alkalineangel
Jun 25, 2007, 08:58 AM
CBW... just a question... you used the term ickle... does that mean little or something... IM just wondering because JK uses it in Harry Potter too... Petunia calls Dudley Ickle Diddy-kins... and is "popkin" another term such as "poppet"? Hate to bug you but I'm very interested in deciphering the slang... or whatever it is called... you know... im slightly obsessed with this series... add it to my looniness.

curlybenswife
Jun 25, 2007, 10:49 AM
LOL what a I've given you a greeeny ;)
startover22
Jun 25, 2007, 10:50 AM
Emland, that is so funny, I just went to read that. What a nerd. Hope all is well.
Emland
Jun 25, 2007, 11:10 AM
Why, thank you CBW! Getting reddies for my opinion doesn't bother me - but for something stupid it does!
I guess it is my own fault though. I posted a link to a schizophrenia site - but realized after the fact that she said her son was 3 not 13.
Did everyone have a good weekend? I worked like a dog putting a monster swingset together. Had to come to work to sit down and rest a few minutes.
startover22
Jun 25, 2007, 11:12 AM

Half the office is gone on vacation it seems, so it is quiet. My boss is really cranky today so I am avoiding him as much as I can.
startover22
Jun 25, 2007, 11:18 AM
I sometimes miss going to my evening job. I will be honest, I love the "adult" talk. Maybe that is why I come here. Dog grooming? My dog is lucky to get fed with all the kids running about
shatteredsoul
Jun 25, 2007, 11:19 AM
Sometimes quiet is good, other times it feels eery!! The cranky boss is the one to steer clear of, good idea!
startover22
Jun 25, 2007, 11:21 AM
Ya, steer clear of the grumps. Stay close to us cool people
shatteredsoul
Jun 25, 2007, 11:23 AM
My dogs get lost in the shuffle at home too. Its just they were filthy from running outside in the mud! One thing led to another and then I began clipping nails, trimming hair. It was a whole to do! I have a Chow Chow (14 yr old), a Maltese (almost 3) and an English Bulldog, who is a year and a half. Let's just say it is a regular three ring circus at my house on a daily basis!
startover22
Jun 25, 2007, 11:31 AM
Sounds like it, wow, three dogs and kids. I love our dog but we just let him go and do whatever. I am more of a cat lover, I think it is because I am lazy to go on walks...
shatteredsoul
Jun 25, 2007, 11:41 AM
Well, I am allergic to cats so they are not allowed in my house! The dogs do whatever most of the time. We are so busy that we aren't always consistent with walks and stuff. Thank goodness we have a big backyard! I am sure I must have been temporarily insane when we got the third dog. I am definitely not the dog whisperer!!
startover22
Jun 25, 2007, 11:46 AM
LOL, you are too cute. Get over here and clip my dogs nail, k? I am too scared I feel like I will hurt him.

Emland - I gave you a greenie too. Lol
Shattered - I am deathly allergic to cats as well, but big welcomes for the dogs. Lol
Start - Good to see you back.
AL - Good relaxing weekend. It is always good to have one of those, although I am sure it does not happen too often.
Laura - Did you get any relief yet?
I hope I do not miss anybody, Just want to say hello to everybody here.

Arrgh!! I just can not stand today's youth... I feel so sorry for my children, seeing who it is that will be parenting their peers. I get so frustrated with these whiney little self righteous, know-it-all spoiled "I want the whole world" teenagers. Grrr... >:(

CBW did you see my post to you on the quitters page?
curlybenswife
Jun 25, 2007, 01:23 PM
I didn't see what totally directed at me but I did answer your drought post lol
alkalineangel
Jun 25, 2007, 01:43 PM
OK... I must have posted it here then... it was about some British slang I didn't understand... nothing terribly important... Harry Potter stuff.. lol...
The question I was monitoring disappeared... did I miss something?
curlybenswife
Jun 25, 2007, 01:46 PM
Yes you did why were you even answering a question asked by someone under the age of 16 who shouldn't even be having sex its illegal and amhd doesn't not condone under age sex lol simple as.
Ok rant over but if you ever see anything like that from someone who is obviously not 16 or over report it poppet.
alkalineangel
Jun 25, 2007, 01:48 PM
Oh, I didn't know that... I see those all the time... I wasn't condoning it though, I was suggesting against it... sorry, I will know better now, thanks.

I didn't even read it ben saw it was bright pink and said what the hells that I get a right bollocking for not telling him sooner lol
alkalineangel
Jun 25, 2007, 01:53 PM
Bright pink? Some alert? Yeah, I see that kind of post on here occasionally, and we always tell them to wait until they are older, but I never knew there was an actual rule against it. Apologies to Ben and to you...
Emland
Jun 25, 2007, 01:53 PM
I didn't know that about the underage posts, either. We were all counseling her against it. I hope she takes it to heart.

curlybenswife
Jun 25, 2007, 01:54 PM
Just take it as rule of thumb if they are under 16 they should be having sex full stop report it it will be removed, I truly hope she took heed but I doubt it the amount of youngsters with children is getting more and more common its so sad.

J_9
Jun 25, 2007, 06:25 PM
I was going to suggest sciatica. Your leg does not necessarily have to be numb. I had it with all 4 pregnancies.

Oh believe me, we have a book called "connor-isms" I write in it often... lol The other day he told my husband that he was going to eat all of his dinner so that he grew big and strong and got a big belly like daddy... lol.
He also has been recently telling me all the things he will be allowed to do when he is a big brother (according to him, not me) such as handling knives, using an electric saw (like daddy and papaw), and walking down the street alone... lol..
J_9
Jun 26, 2007, 10:15 AM
Oh that is too funny. I love when Johnny comes up with something new. It is such a hoot. He came up with one right before Dad passed that would make some people gasp, but we just cracked up!!
alkalineangel
Jun 26, 2007, 10:20 AM
Oh I love it... I was taking a walk with my mother and Connor and he was running ahead of us. He tripped on a raised portion of the sidewalk and fell down. I ran up to him to see if he was OK and he had a mortified face on him. I asked what was wrong and he looked down at a crack in the sidewalk and told me he broke the sidewalk... LOL... it was all I had in me to be serious, I was laughing so hard inside...

Jun 26, 2007, 10:26 AM
That is so cute, I think every kid has really thought they were going to break their mama's back some time or another! My son asked my dad if he was pregnant with triplets! I turned three shades of red. I guess that's not as bad as when he asked me, Mommy are you PMSing?? HAAAAAAA HAAAAA
Start, there is no way you look 4 months pregnant I would bet my last dollar on it. You can't wear a size 8 and look preggie my love!! You are probably used to being half of that size so you seem huge to you. To everyone else, you are a MILF for sure!!
J_9
Jun 26, 2007, 10:26 AM
Oh I know!! While Dad was sick Johnny was sitting in front of the TV just playing by himself and talking to himself. Mom and I looked over and he was waving his little hand around saying "Ohhh, look, I'm Grampa, I'm an angel, I'm flying up to heaven... Oh, C.R.A.P, I'm stuck in a tree!!
We hooted and hollered over that one. It was even used at Dad's funeral. Oh, yeah, Dad's nickname was Joker.

It is a sure bet that if you pick up a phone ,the children will need to ask you for something or tell you something or start fighting the minute you start talking. Murphy's Law I think its called. I have a funny joke for all of you then I have to skedaddle for a bit.
A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young mothers and their small children...
"You all have obsessions," he observed.
To the first mother, Mary, he said, "You are obsessed with eating. You've even named your daughter Candy."
He turned to the second Mom, Ann: "YOur obsession is with money. Again, it manifests itself in your child's name Penny."
He turns to the third Mom, Joyce: "Your obsession is alcohol. This too manifests itself in your child's name, Brandy."
At this point, the fourth mother gets up, takes her little boy by the hand and whispers, "Come on , we're leaving."
HA HA a little humor. I am feeling frisky today.
