I have masterbated , but not had sex. Have I broken my hymen?
I really want to be a virgin for my husband when we get married , but I have fingered myself before , and I am scared that I have broken my hymen.. how can I tell?? I have also used tampons.. but never a dildo or anything bigger than my fingers. Help me please.. I am going to freak out.

You are a virgin until you have had sex; your hymen has nothing to do with it. Many girls break their hymen as a child through trauma to the area - they are still virgins.

So relax. If you want to remain a virgin until you are married, that's great. The only thing you must do is abstain from sex! :)

While its possible to break the hymen while masturbating, there is no way for us to tell if you have or not.

Unless you have engaged in sexual intercourse (penile penetration of your vagina) you are tecnically a virgin if that's what's worrying you.

Let me give you a piece of advice - if the man you intend to marry doesn't trust you when you tell him you are a virgin - don't marry him! :)

Beyond that, you won't feel your hymen being broken when you have sex, so if it's already broken (it might not ever have been there, either), you aren't missing out on anything.

No , no , no its not that at all! Its ME I wanted that satisfaction , that feeling , wholly and completely... I just wanted him to accually do it.. that's what I mean.. he doesn't care , he says he'd marry me even if I had had a threesome with all guys , lol.

Glad to hear he trusts what you say!

For now you're on the right path. A broken hymen doesn't mean a loss of virginity, and it's unlikely it was broken during tampon use or masturbation. Take comfort in knowing if you continue to abstain from vaginal sex until your wedding night, you will be giving yourself fully to your new husband!

Well, when I had sex for the first time, it broke my hymen, and it bled and it hurt... not much of an experience I wanted to have.

The only way you can *prove* you are a virgin on your wedding night is if you bleed on the sheet from a broken hymen due to penile penetration.

Since you could have accidentally, possibly torn your hymen from masturbation, sports activity, or any number of things, I would suggest you don't make a big deal of your virginity... hope that there is blood on the sheet on your marriage night!

I disagree with Choux, NOT all women "bleed on the sheet " with their first sexual experience.

Many girls and teens tear or dilate their hymen while participating in sports like bicycling, horseback riding, gymnastics, but some girls will break their hymens during masturbation or fingering and others can lose their hymens by inserting a tampon. A girl may not even know this has happened. This is due to a fact that there may be little or no blood or pain involved.

You are a virgin until you have sexual intercourse:)

Choux did not say that ! "The only way you can *prove* you are a virgin on your wedding night is if you bleed on the sheet from a broken hymen due to penile penetration" does not mean that you have to "bleed on the sheet" on your weddingnight, but that bleeding at that time is the only way to prove you are a virgin.
But taking it from there - and if bleeding is essential to keep the marriage from failing (in which case you married the wrong guy) - is having a small vial or bag with your own blood around at that time. It could solve a huge problem ! Just in case...

    OH good lord.

You are a virgin if you haven't had sexual intercourse. Period.

If you HAVE to prove it, you're marrying an idiot anyway.

As far as having that "whole experience"--well, I don't know that having to break the hymen (painful) and bleed all over (messy) would exactly add to a romantic experience.

If it's there, great! If not, don't stress about it.

If you are going to marry someone who does not believe you, and have to get or have some "sign" you have the wrong guy. First it should not really matter if you love each other, and second if you love each other you will believe in and trust the other.
