    Looking for Birth Mother
I am trying to help my adopted brother, find his birth mother. We know where he was born we have her first, middle, and last name (Maiden Name). At this time if she is still living she should be 75 years old. Our adopted parents are both dead now and he would like to know if he has other sibblings. We also know where she was living at the time he was born.We will appericate any help.

There are several web sites that serve as clearing houses for both sides seeking to find each other. I would do a web search on Finding Birth Parents. They can help you. Generally your search should start with the agency that handled the adoption.

Depending on which country you live in, it may be possible to travel to the town hall and examine records relating to Births, Marriages and Deaths. You will probably need to make an appointment and provide photgraphic ID.

The way I found my birth parents, was to call long distance information and get phone numbers in the same last name as theirs. I got a "hit" on my dads relatives on the third try. Now, there's the white pages through your computer that can give you the info. It doesn't matter if the first names don't match up, because you may find one of her relatives that can tell you a number. The third phone number I tried, was my fathers aunt. Being that you know where she lived when he was born, that would be the starting place to look up numbers. She probably has relatives in that area. Have you considered chat rooms for adoption? You'll find all kinds of ideas in a chat room. I wish you the best of luck.

I'm plugged in to some genealogy databases and will give it a shot if you'll give the name.

... can't promise anything since adoptions throw some wrenches in the gears... but am happy to try.
