    Forced into adoption
I wanted to ask you my friend who was a minor at the time was forced into adoption by her aunt who bribed her . Her mother was not around when she signed her parental rights over the catch the rights were sighned over on there table at their house the notary was the uncles cousin The aunt told the niece about the court that she was going to pick her up for it and never did so it made her look even mor bad. She had cyfd called on her by some jelouse girls who liked her baby's dad she was smoking weed at the time but never around her baby but they still took her from her mother. She gave power of attorney to her aunt for 6 months that's how long she had to after the six months that's when she was bribed with m9oney they also told her they would alwayslet her see her and they lied the aunt did this because she had indemitriosis and could not have a child of her own my frien d feels lik if her daughter was kidnapped from her she also has another daughter and the aunt doesn't want her other baby to know that she has a sister. The baby that the aunt has is 3 years old and all her husband and her do is fight and he drinks . My friend now is drug free and she wants her daughter with not with some phsyco 40 year olds who are always fighting help me tell me what should she do can she get her back she was a minor

    Sonja,
First, its not a good idea to piggy back your question onto someone else's thread. This can cause confusion. So I've asked that it be moved to its own thread.

Second, your friend needs an attorney. The attorney will help her file a petition in Family court to regain her daughter. My suspicion, based on what you told us, is that the aunt never formerly filed adoption papers. Even though she got your friend to sign papers, she would have had to go to court to formalize the adoption.

So, there is a good chance that your friend can get her daughter back, if the situation as you described it is true.

If you give your consent to adopt you give up all parental rights and responsibilities. Legally the children are no longer yours and he becomes their new father. You would no longer be able to visit them or have any rights to them whatsoever.
