    My daughter
    My partner has been with me since my daughte was 3 she is now away to be 7 she has not seen her real dad since she was 4 .she sees my partner as her dad although see knows how her real dad is. I have a son to my partner and one one the way and my daughter was to have the same name as them. And my partner would love to adopt her. Would this be hard to do many thanks

    Not if your ex (your daughter's father) is willing to relinquish his rights in favor of the adoption. Are you and your "partner" married? Planning to get married? (Not that unmarried people can't raise children, just thinking would be easier for any future adoption proceedings... the courts love the wholesome, conservative idea of what a family is).

    Anyway, you will want to check around for a free legal consult with an attorney that specializes in family law. They can give you more information specific to the laws in your area and tell you what steps to take.

    If your ex is willing to sign over his rights, it will be farily easy. If not, it may not be possible, your first stop will be an attorney to get it started
