    Adopting my son
    Hello i have been with my husbend for 7 years and 3 months we had only been together for 1 and a half months when i found out i was having a baby went for the scan and the dates showed it was not hes but stayed with me the boy is 6 and a half now never seen his reall father and i don't even know his name so not on birth certifc my husbend has been dad sense day 1 that's all the boy knows him by is dad so dose this mean my husbend can adopt him or not i need help don't no where to go or aks thanks for your help xx:confused:

    Your husband should be able to adopt him. Stepparent adoptions are fairly common. You will need to get the consent of the birth father though.

    I would contact a family law attorney in your area as adoption is a fairly involved process.
