    Alphabetizing Initials in Magazine Titles
I work in a library and I am not sure of the proper way to alphabetize magazine titles that contain initials, such as "GQ" for "Gentlemen's Quarterly", "OOC" for "Occupational Outlook Quarterly", and "The IAHE Informer" for "The Indiana Association of Home Educators". Do I alphabetize by initials, or by what the initials stand for?

I would first check to see how some other titles that are usually abbreviated are listed in the library where you work.

I would think that most people would be looking for what the abbreviations actually stand for. So, I would alphabetize by the complete titles.

I tried to find some answers on the Internet concerning this. Did not find anything. There may be someone on this site who may be able to give you a better answer though. I just know how I would go looking for the titles.
