You mean it sounds fun to be depressed?

And you want to cut yourself?
Does not sound like a very good way to live a life.

So... being emo... you HAVE to cut yourself? Do all punks actually play guitar? I think not.
My question is... why do you "want" to be emo? What about being emo seems fun to you?
Most kids try out different identities to see which one fits best... and I guess there's no harm in that. Leave the cutting part out. Not all emo kids cut themselves.

if you want to be emo for fun, then your what is called a poser. Posers are bad. Emo = emotional. If you like the hair and the clothes and the makeup you're a punk. Get the vocab straight and you won't have a problem. What I did, is I didn't have a style in high school. If I felt like it I wore it. Add punk to your range of style, don't make it a life style. And most emo kids a suburban princes or princesses.

If you like the clothes then, as long as it is OK with your folks, go for it. If you feel like something is 'you' and you like the style, express yourself with it. But just dressing like that I do think would be considered more 'punk' than 'emo'. But I could be wrong, I'm sure the terminology has changed since I was in school, lol.

I agree with Peggy, I dressed hippie without being a hippie... still sort of do actually.
As long as she likes the style and doesn't get into the darker aspects of being an EMO there isn't anything wrong with it.

I agree with both, do ask your parents though and let them know why you're dressing that way.
