    What should I do
My friend, who is 17 years old, seems to be addicted to 'Chroming' or sniffing paint. Nothing anyone say can steer her away from the problem, which is totally understandable. When someone tells you to stop doing something you do it more... She has been in secure placements and psychiatric hospitals, but it just makes her want to do it more. Currently she is in foster care so they can't just leave her alone to stop by herself... What should I do??

Be her friend and don't let her do it when she is with you.

Hmmm. Well I have few addictions myself none related to drugs but still addictions and I can say that they are VERY hard to break. I would personally try to talk to her parents about it and see if they can't help her in some way... if that doesn't work try and talk to a psychiatrist and see if there isn't something mental going on. And if that doesn't work you could always try and hide all the paint cans at the bottom af a six foot hole...

Hope this helps except for the last one...
