Will I pass EtG test after 55 hours since last drink?
I am 5"9" female, 165 lbs, average or fast metabolism. I started drinking Friday night and will most likely have a test Monday morning at 8:30 or so (tomorrow). I started drinking Michelob Ultra (4.2%) beers at about 9 pm, I drank about 6 of those, one cranberry vodka at 12 am, one more beer at 12:30 am, then one shot of tequila at 1:30 am. Given the time finishing at 1:30 am Saturday, then taking a test at 8:30 am on Monday, I say I have about 55 hours between last drink & the test. I honestly do not even know if the test I will take is for ETG but it is for probation and I am to refrain from alcohol so I assume it is. So is 55 hours a good time to rid my body of the ETG from 9 drinks? I am drinking a lot of water today, took a multivitamin, and a GNC metabolism and energy pill.

Ethyl glucuronide (EtG) testing detection times vary considerably, and can only detect alcohol in your system for UP TO 80 hours, meaning it cannot detect it for that long in every case.

I have attached an excellent journal article (Alcohol & Alcoholism Vol. 42, No. 4, pp. 317–320, 2007) which precisely addresses your question. In summary, the article states:

"...a review of the literature shows this window of detection applies only to extreme cases. EtG testing is becoming more common as a method to test for alcohol consumption in individuals who have been ordered to abstain from alcohol consumption. We tested 19 subjects using commercially available EtG kits. All urine samples collected more than 26 h after drinking had false negative results."

    Hope this helps!
