So do you think I will pass based on these answers? I drank tons and tons of water up until my test day. I tested in the morning so that is the only thing I am worried about since they say your urine is more concentrated.
"The amount of alcohol in the blood is called blood alcohol content or blood alcohol concentration
(BAC). Alcohol is metabolized at the rate of .015 of (BAC) every hour.
For instance, a person with a BAC of .15 (this BAC is almost twice the legal amount when driving) will have no measurable alcohol in the bloodstream ten hours after the last drink (.15 divided by .015 = 10).
With some urine alcohol tests, alcohol can be detected up to around 48 hours after a person has ingested alcohol. With the EtG Urine Alcohol Test, however the presence of EtG in the urine demonstrates that ethanol alcohol was ingested within the past 3 or 4 days, or roughly 80 hours after the ethanol alcohol has been metabolized by the body.
As a result, it can be determined that a urine alcohol test employing EtG is a more accurate indicator of the recent consumption of alcohol as opposed to simply measuring for the existence of ethanol alcohol (as is done many other urine alcohol tests).
With the EtG Urine Alcohol Test, however, the presence of EtG in the urine reveals that ethanol alcohol was consumed within the past 80 hours or so which could mean many hours after the ethanol alcohol has been metabolized by the body."
Drinking as much water as you possibly can in order to water down your urine shows up on an EtG test as just that - an attempt to water down your urine.
Yes, perhaps you should have been drinking the water instead of the beer and you would not have to worry.
I will first say personally I hope you fail. You knew you had a test and drank anyway, so you deserve to fail since you are not following the rules of the reason you are being tested for.
Next of course beyond the test you will have to worry about people who were with you turning you in, someone getting mad and reporting it, perhaps someone took photos and posted them on Facebook showing you drinking, there are more worries.
And you start the time from the time the last drink would have entered your system, ( absorbed) not when you drank it) so your time frame is most likely less than 75 hours.
So depending on the levels they will accept for the test, it is a good chance you are going to fail.
Did you pass? Lots of research out there that says that it could have gone either way, but I think you had a good chance to pass... especially if the half-life of ETG is 3 hours as documented in several places. If your level was as high as 800,000 you would have still been OK.
In the same boat as the OP. Unfortunately had a vacation for spring break, drank an obscene amount and have a test today (will be exactly 75 hrs). Right off the bat on Monday, been downing lemon water, drinking beet juice and other juicing recipes, milk thistle tablets, dandelion root, and taking a liver tonic (all things I normally do for health anyway). Hoping I pass since this is a test for a job (and unfortunately it is an EtG test).

Are you sure this was a test for EtG? That would be very unusual in pre-employment. The test is used almost exclusively in total abstinence settings. Even standard Urine alcohol is disallowed unless you have already been conditionally offered a position. See EEOC below.
However, EtG is seldom detected at 75 hours, though sometimes it is. Much has to do with how much you drank, when you stopped, and time from BAC=0 to time of test.
I unfortunately binged drank like I was in college again (we're talking I have NO idea how much I drank and it was a 4 day vacation). Normally I juice fruits, veggies, eat raw and take supplements constantly. But this was a dumb thing I decided to do while on vacation (I'm 32 and should have known better).
I have already had a 3rd interview and it's for a major finance company (background checks, credit check, etc). I heard from someone who referred me to this company that EtG tests have been performed on employees before, so I am nervous I have screwed up this opportunity. I stopped 6pm Sunday and haven't even touched listerine, my hairspray, or anything else since Monday morning (once I heard about the test date, I freaked and googled).
Taking the test in about 6 hours and all I can do is cross my fingers :-(
just have to chime in on this subject. Why do all of you people push the limits of intelligence here? If you know toy have an etg coming up, don't drink for a few days before. Gosh...is that so hard to do?? It's called taking responsibility for your actions. If you set yourself up to possibly fail, then why would you be distraught if you did fail? It is totally dependent on YOUR ACTIONS and no one else's.
I'm 6ft 3in 230 lbs I been drinking water for the last 3 hours my test is tomorrow by 11am... I drank last on Monday at 3am I have also been taking creatine and a detox pill I plan waking up early and running and sweatting allot will this be enough to pass
Can a 5'0'' 110lb. 23 yr. old female pass an EtG after 60 hours? From about 9pm-1am a total of 5 standard drinks were consumed. 1 vodka tonic, 3 glasses of wine, and 1 beer. I would say I'm in pretty good shape and workout about 5 days a week. I have a body fat of 14-16%... I'm unsure of the cutoff...
Saturday I drank about 12 beers, stopping at approx. 2:00 am. Im a healthy 125 lb female with a fast metabolism. I am taking an EtG test Tuesday at about 4:45 pm. Do you think I will pass? (That would be about 62 hours after consuption.)
