Your odds are slim and none, and if I were a betting man I would go with none.

Your chances are pretty good to pass, depending on the cutoff for this particular test. According to what you write, and if my math is correct (math is not my friend), it's 83 hours from when you stopped drinking to when you took the test. So you should be okay.
What will happen if you fail?

Oliver, I'm curious, why did you say his odds are slim and none at 83 hours past his last drink? Do you know something I don't know?

Heavy drinkers like the OP tend to have poor liver function, thus it can take longer for the alcohol to clear the system.

Yes, drinking that much, would be a sign of heavy adiction. He did not say how much he had earlier that week. So agreed, if he drinks heavy and has for many years, he will have a lower chance of passing.
But it is very possible chance, depending on why they are testing and what levels are acceptable. Criminal court, or civil court. I have seen some civil courts, over child custody with very tough standards.

So basically we're guessing that he's a heavy drinker, and we're also guessing why he's being tested?
Good to know. Then I'm going to stick with my guess, since that's all we can do, and we're doing a lot of it.
Good luck to the OP.

I'm with J_9 on this one, although the why isn't really an issue.
Bear in mind that 2 pints of vodka is equivalent to almost an entire LITRE of spirits.
Pretty indicative of a hardened drinker, or a serious party.

In other words, we're not supposed to guess, unless someone high up decides it's okay to guess, and then we're supposed to take that guess as fact? Is that the case?
I'm not disagreeing that this OP probably is a hard core drinker. Then again, he could have had one weekend of binging (we've all been there) and has to take a test for a job.
Fact is, we don't know, because he didn't tell us. We're all guessing, and what good is guessing going to do?
Unless the OP comes back and provides more info, and is honest with that info, we really can't even give an educated guess. But I find it funny that some of the people that have given me crap in the past for assuming, are now making their own assumptions. When I did it it wasn't okay and I was put down, on this site, for doing it. When they do it, it's fine? How is that okay?

You should pass if you are healthy. If you are smart you will realize it's not worth the stress and speculation or waiting on pins and needles for the test results.
You have no one to blame but yourself if you cannot pass a simple easy drug/alcohol test.

Good luck to the OP.
Two pints of vodka would put the average non-drinker, or light drinker, into alcohol poisoning. Opposite that of a heavy drinker who's liver can tolerate more.
No reason to be argumentative.

1 shot of vodka, EtG tested about 40 hours later
[ 7 Answers ]
Hi everyone id just like some opinions if I'll pass. I drink lots and lots of coffee and diet soda I drank water after the shot, will I pass the 80 hour test? I got the test 39-40 hours after. I'm sure the cutoff is the lowest it can be (100) I'm so worried! Not worth the headache.
Vodka and ETG testing

I'm on probation that does ETG testing (even though my probation is for marijuana *rolls eyes*) and plan on drinking about a half-pint, to 3/4 of a pint of vodka on Friday night. I read that eating foods with probiotics (grade-a yogurt) helps to break down alcohol faster, as well as eating foods...
