Does ETG last longer in oral fluids than urine
I had an oral EtG on Thursday at 6pm after drinking 12 drinks the previous Saturday night into Sunday at 5 am and I wondered if the time frame is the same with urine and oral fluid I'm 23 5'7' and 175

ETG is a metabolite that is created during alcohol digestion. It is stable and stays in your blood stream until it is excreted. The side affect of it being in your blood stream is that it is also goes into some of your other bodily fluids, saliva for example, and can be tested there as well as blood and urine. It is odd to test saliva but it is an alcohol test.

Why do you need to take ETG tests? They're usually used to ensure that people who shouldn't be, legally or medically, drinking alcohol as a term of probabtion, punishment, or employment. What do you lose if you fail these tests?

Is there a possibility of going back to jail?

Have you checked out any AA meetings or other Alcohol Abuse related support groups?

I can't say with any confidence that is true. The thing is, if they've come up with testing procedures for a saliva test then they've accounted for the degradation time and the effect of saliva on the compound. As well if the metabolite is in the blood stream, you would expect it to show about the same amount of time in the Urine and well as Saliva, but the urine is kept for periods in the bladder so the concentrations could be different. The saliva could be a better running tally of your alcohol metabolism, while the urine is however many hour collection of ETG. If that makes sense. The Saliva would also be less affected by dilution if you drank a butt load of water in hopes of making your numbers less.

These are also questions you can ask your doctor if you're inclined. He should be able to answer them for you.

Regardless though, you should stop drinking. AA is a good step. Don't try to figure out how to mitigate the damage if you slip but try to stop slipping in the first place. It is the difference between an Air bag on your car and Winter tires.

It is like a sewer. What you get out of it depends on what you put into it. If you want this and put a lot of effort into it then you should be rewarded. Don't put a lot of effort into it and you will just fall into the same traps.
