Although it make take up to 2 hrs for alcohol to show up in the urine, 1 beer, 1 glass of wine, or 1 shot of liquor, can take any where from 60-90 minutes ( two hrs. to be safe, to clear from your system.

We do drug and alcohol testing at work. From our experience we have detected traces of alcohol up to two days after use. That's depending on the consumption.

So true Scottish 2008, In addition to the 90-120 minutes, the Metabolites of alcohol may be dectable in urine for 24-48 hours after the last drink. (metabolites, are the breakdown substance that results from metabolism of the drug or alcohol ingested).

If the test is for Ethanol only there is a chance of elimination (200ml*.40 = 5 drinks) across a 7 hr period. If the test involves EtG and or EtS detection approaches certainty.

If your concern is passing a urinalisis, yet choose to drink the day of testing, you may have a much larger problem on your hands than just failing a test. People without addictions tend to hold off the drug of choice if it is to interfere with life.
