    Accounting for Cash Dividends
    Preferred stock, 8%, $10 par issued 20,000 shares.

    I need to comput the amount of dividends to preferred and to common for 2007 and 2008 if total dividends for 2007 is $10,000 and total dividends for 2008 is $50,000?

    company has declared anuual dividends over a six year period: 2002, 32,000; 2003,65,000; 2004, 84,000; 2005, 60,000; 2006, 72,000; 2007, 95,000. The outstanding stock of the company is 25,000 shares of cumulative, nonparticipating, $2 preferred stock, $100par, and 50,000 shares of common stock $7 par value.
