    Show me a sample statement of retained earnings
    For Dec 2009, 103,675 dividends were declared.. of this amount 30,000 will be paid on Jan 15, 2010. I subtracted the total dividends declared to get the ending retained earnings. Is that correct?

    Yes, that's correct. When it's paid is not relevant to the retained earnings.
