Posting a federal grant with a local match to my ledger
If I applied for a federal grant for a new van for my non-profit business and the federal grant covers 80% of the $50,000 cost of the vehicle, how do I post those transactions to my ledger?

Do I list the $40,000 as in-kind? I wasn't sure since it is a federal grant and the in-kind definition leans toward donations. Should a federal grant be considered as an in-kind donation?
