    How to calculate Per Diem?
    Hi
I would like to know how per diem is calculated for W2 employee in USA.
Please give me the reply based on the situation below:
Software consultant X lives in New York as his/her residence is there but the consultant gets a contract job in IOWA. Assume X is a US Citizen. His pay rate is $50 PER HOUR on W2 but X wants per diem apart from $50/HR.How Per diem is calculated and what are the components of Per Diem -how Per Diem is allocated to those components?

    Thanks
    Leonard
