    Most had already settled, and found a moderate living, east of Toronto in the 1800s and families would already be established with good farming land along the shores of Lake Ontario (Sir John Graves Simcoe, and Mrs. Simcoe did a good job sourcing out land and opportunities the previous century).

    I could give you the information, but sense this is a homework question. I will give you a hint though our CDN dollar today was worth $27 then and my own town on Lk Ontario was named Hard Scrabble (CB will know what that means).
