    Hooray for Racism!
The mayor of Boston, Michelle Wu, who just happens to be the city's first Asian American mayor, decidedly recently to have a holiday party. She had her aide, Denise DosSantos, send out an email for the event. The email read, "Honorable members: On behalf of Mayor Michelle Wu, I cordially invite you and a guest to the Electeds of Color Holiday Party." In other words, no honkies need apply.

She later decided that perhaps her decision was not a particularly good one, so she sent out this lame apology/explanation. "I wanted to apologize for my previous email regarding a Holiday Party for tomorrow. I did send that to everyone by accident and I apologize if my email may have offended or came across as so. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused." In other words, she sincerely apologizes for her decision to exercise racial prejudice, but she certainly doesn't intend to do anything about it. So the moral of the story would seem to be that in Boston, it's OK to exercise racial prejudice as long as it's directed against white people, even if you are the duly elected mayor responsible for representing ALL of the people.

I'd be surprised if the good mayor was paying for this party out of her own funds. If the city is paying for it, then it would make her guilty of using public funds for the purpose of racial discrimination. Well, if I was a white council member, I'd make a point of attending.

She only apologized after her aide Denise DosSantos accidently sent out the invitation to white members of the City Council also .
You see the problem wasn't that it was a minority only party. The problem was that the invitation was sent out to whites by mistake . She likened it to a regular run of the mill embarrassing snafu .

“I think we’ve all been in a position at one point where an email went out and there was mistaken recipients so there was truly just an honest mistake,” she told reporters.

This is not a new thing. There is a Black Congressional Caucus. If there was a White Congressional Caucus I imagine they would be depicted as wearing white sheets.

In other words, "My decision to become racially prejudiced was an honest mistake." I guess in the world of men deciding they want to be on the women's swim team, a person describing her racial prejudice as merely an "honest mistake" is fairly tame.

This is the mayor's additional justification for her "honest mistake".

"It is my intention that we can, again, be a city that lives our values and create space for all kinds of communities to come together," she added.
So we create a space, "for all kinds of communities to come together" by practicing racial discrimination? How interesting.

He is NOT invited, I'm sure. Whitey is not welcome.
