    Creaky floorboards
    Hello,

Is there any way to fix creaky wooden floorboards? A friend told me talc between the boards but I have tried this & it didn't work.

    Thanks,

Creaking floors means there is movement between the boards and/or the sub floor. Talc may act as a lubricant for the wood and quiet things only a bit. Short of re-nailing every board you may want to increase the humidity in the home. If you bring up the humidity to 20-30 percent the boards will swell and become a little tighter.

Smell getting worse so pulled up the carpet where smell seemed to be coming from and floorboards smell much worse....
