    Bolens Mower - Key Won't Go In
    I have a Bolens Riding Mower model 2136. It would not shut off, and I had to pull a spark plug wire to get it to shut off. I took out the key while it was still running, and now I can't get the key to fit back in.

    Any suggestions as to:

    1) Why it wouldn't shut off;

    2) Why the key won't go in.

    Any ideas on how to fix it?

    Sounds like the ignition switch is bad and will need replaced. Easy repair and inexpensive. You can get a universal one.

    You Can't Always Get A Universal Ignition Switch, You Need To Take The Old One With You And Match The Designation Letters On Each Prong Of The Plug, If The Plug Is Not The Same, You Can Do Damages To Your Electrical System.

JD Lawn Mower-Mower Disengages While in Use [ 1 Answers ]

Old JD ride-on, I just bought it. Engine runs great, idles a bit fast. Mower cuts for a while (up to 5 minutes today), then blades stop turning (engine keeps running fine). The PTO switch doesn't move (stays in ON position). I can turn PTO switch off then on again, and mower will engage again...
